Hats off to banner builders. I agree with the above sentiments , if you've gone to the trouble of making it , the least they can do is run through it. Showing abit of joy about playing AFL football and ripping through the banner seems to be uncool nowadays.

Bugger Sheedy. 5 years ago I woulda prefered Hardwick anyway.
-
Line in the sand game this 1. By rights , with our mature bodies in the wet weather we should absolutely beat the beejeezus outta them both physically and on the scoreboard. I want us to give Sheedy a healthy taste of his own medicine as the smug plick has mocked us all week.

"Don't go to the snow, come see Scully" - Sheedy
Fork 'em replied to H_T's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sheedy has never respected us and feels humiliated that we turned him down for the senior coaching position. This burned into a hatred of us and need for revenge of some sort which blinded him to get Scully at whatever the cost causing GWS to pay massive overs for good ordinary. The jokes on Sheedy. -
Aw ... C'mon now sheriff. Should be entertaining watching every-one work out where they sit on the foodchain. Watching out for your power trippin' deputy will be the trick. Flame 'em then suspend 'em is his modus operandi.

The battle is in the school ground. Kids don't like copping crap cause their team is getting flogged week in week out. They wanna be walking tall hanging the crap from where its safe ,in numbers from the top of the ladder. I've got 2 brainwashed kids at a small country school of about 60-70 kids. The only 2 that wear red and blue they are . My oldest girl seems to accept her lot but the young fella would swap to Collingwood or Essendon this afternoon if I gave him the go ahead. This of course just will not do.

TAPSCOTT BUMAYE ! TAPSCOTT BUMAYE ! TAPSCOTT BUMAYE ! In reference to the chant ALI BUMAYE from the African crowd during the Rumble in the Jungle fight against Foreman which translated to ALI KILL HIM.

IMO Gutnick bought himself the most publicity the promise of 300 grand could buy. No-one new who the hell he was till he showed up waving $$ on our doorstep , then he was all over the media. Can't remember much positive he did for the club but do remember him being outspoken and having the balls to stick it to the AFL if he thought we were getting a rough deal. Also remember he dobbed us in for the salary cap breaches.

You wouldn't have had to. As Don Scott famously showed . It was a Melbourne jumper with a yellow hawk on the front. Make no mistake , we weren't merging. We were taking over.

Not only do we need wins , we need flags and a few of them. The only way to win over the kids "supporters for the future" is to have sustained success for the better part of a decade. Then you have to wait another 10-15 years till these kids can earn an income and become members themselves.

Is the holding-the-ball interpretation really better?
Fork 'em replied to Traja Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I often sit at ground level around the goals cause the kids like to be up close but I do enjoy the sence you get of physicality when there. I miss the awareness of the amount of space players have and the structures upfield but hearing the force of hits and the crunch of big bodies around the goal square is awesome at times. As for Grimes head 1st dive for the ball , IMO play like that is more stupid than inspiring. It won't be long before players like Selwood and Grimes who are forever getting stitched up or concussed are seriously hirt because instead of looking after their own heads they expect some opposition player chasing the ball at top pace to look out for it instead. Free kick is a small reward if your off to the hospital in a neck brace. -

Driving your knee in to the oppositions ribcage when flying for a mark isn't tough either. Doesn't mean I don't want our players to do it.
-
As far as I'm concerned , if your forking out extra to sit with Melbourne supporters only. Thats what you should be doing. End of Story .

The "I'm Glad There's No Matchday Thread", Thread
Fork 'em replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Love Tappys mongrel streak. Just needs to be a little more subtle thats all. -
So what we want beat them on QB. We wanna roll the AFLs arrogant pampered pets any other day they care to mention aswell. They belittle our efforts with the "Their Grand Final" jibes but conveniently forget about that when the filth and scum lift their intensity for the ANZAC games. Only recently Eddie threatened to take our sponsors, take the QB game off us, steal our players and shag our mothers. Sure feeds the "Them against the world" mantra he preaches to the black and white unwashed. Also feeds our desire to roll 'em on QB.

Losing Pia was particularly distressing.

Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?
Fork 'em replied to Satan's topic in Melbourne Demons
Travis may learn a life lesson here, that his old man isn't as smart as he thinks he is. Might find he has to leave a club he loves because of dads pride. "We want 5 years or nothing." is an aggressive stance. -
WINNER: Goose of the Year ... David King

Malcolm Blight axed at least 4 Crows before he set foot in the place. Wanted them gone before he even got there. -

The Significance of the win against Bombers
Fork 'em replied to demon-4-life's topic in Melbourne Demons
There isn't much sweeter than to take down the arrogant Bombers with their "Good ol' boys" coaching panel which now includes the much hyped "Weapon". A great scalp but it's when we take the likes of Hawthorn , Cats or Pies that will be most telling. Bombers have played well this year but have risen quickly as they did early last year and we beat them then also. -
Most fist-pump-worthy highlight from last night
Fork 'em replied to mrtwister's topic in Melbourne Demons
When Nico's long bomb went through. Then wigged out when it wasn't allowed. -
Yes he did and was promptly sat on his arze.
