Just a heads up about a full page add for New balance/Melbourne FC in todays Herald Sun, is of the awesome if you can check it out, James Frawley looking mean, great promotion of both club and sponsor in my opinion, and is backing our advertising up after the trams, commercial of recent times great to see
-
Yeah definately keen to meet a few peeps pre-game this year and share a few beers sounds good
-
where can i get one?
-
Ok guys, it is getting close to the start of the season and after considering the advice in this thread think that i will sign up for a redlegs membership!! If anyone else is looking for someone to go along to the footy with (new-melbourne members) let me know though this thread and we can try to book some seats close thanks JT

Please do stay sober, because bagging young players who have actually played well in their previous game is a productive process, i thought we were meant to be called supporters mate....
-
People want to take Grimes out of our defence after tonight? i dont want to be at that game.
-
Yeah agree.... Watts has never ever been criticized in his whole career?? are you serious mate he cops more than any player i can think of, he missed a shot and had a bad game, want him to promise every game will be one for the highlight reel? deficiencies - centre work, clearances, defense in general, intensity
-
That $14,000,000 million doesnt include the 30% percent to the government and 30% to tatts / tabcorp? im assuming we still buy the writes off of Tab and tatts? tax will always be there
-
I do like this pick, and agree he "could" be a part time ruckman, i am talking 5 minutes each qaurter to relieve Jamar, similar type pick to Bennell and Jetta? went to watch one player who we were strongly interested in (Cook/Nat) then found i possible late smokey with some upside?
-
Darling Lycett
-
The gold Coast will have past up any player we pick.... thats why they are available.
-
Wow thanks for this fantastic and insiteful response hannabal, are all 3000 of your post upto this high standard? Yeah didnt inlcude Jurrah after reading another poster suggesting that he wasnt ever entered into a National draft situation, maybe should have but dont see how it creates a huge impact on the direction of this thread?
-
So what is this thread now about? ranking our draft picks? they were all best available, and the late talls are still latre in the pecking order, baring Frawley who is the gem... Is a better example of best available versus KPP to look at our picks then look at the next best KPP in comparison? i dont know for example scully/trengove versus butcher for example?

Watts, Frawley, Scully, Trengove, Grimes, Morton, Mckenzie, Gysberts, Petterd, Garland, wonnaemirri, Bennell, Blease, Tapscott, Strauss, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Bail, Jetta, Maric, Spencer, Mcnamara This is hard, we have seen some play others havnt.... how can we rate the “potential” of Gawn, Blease, Strauss, Tapscott and Fitzpatrick when they havnt played? We know what some are capable of so can judge them, but others we don’t know if they justify their spot or not? Anyway thats my order. Blease and maybe tapscott may be higher if they had played games at this stage
-
Yeah would be definately keen to get a few supporters together, thanks to everybody for the feedback its great to hear that everyone is happy to welcome in a newby to the crowd. Also was a great insite into other supporters perspective of melbourne games

3 realistic options for pick 12...
Jordie_tackles replied to Deemolition Man's topic in Melbourne Demons
Honestly doubt that Tom Lynch will be there at our pick, severely doubt it -
This is a hard one to pick.... i personally am not sold on greens leadership qaulities?... unless he does wonders behind closed doors? maybe so, they all have the ability to do the job and personaly i cant wait for a grimes or scully type to lead this club, wont take long
-
Ok i am a 22 year old Melbourne supporter looking for other similar in age supporters to go to the footy with in 2011 (None of my friends support this great club). People who enjoy a beer at the footy, and even after, last time i was a member i did go to the footy on my own which is less fun, Thanks
-
Always choose best available, why? due to currency, if you pick the best players they will be worth more later, and you wont look stupid for passing on "the best player" in a draft at any particular time. If we draft to many mids then we will trade our excess of qaulity in one area for another. Geelong for Ottens, Collingwood for Jolly, etc If you dont pick the best player at anyone point in the draft i see it as a depreciation in value. I do understand that we could do with a KPF/RUC but i dont see it to be so severely desperate as others, the desperate need is to give Jamar a short rest each qaurter, which a PJ,Newton,Martin can do until a real option arrives. How far down the draft order is anyone prepared to go for a serious NEED? down 10 spots? 15 spots? it is all reative and i know these figures arnt realistic but what numbers are?

I honestly would not target Judd with Melbournes current list, one he would be Ultra expensive im assumming, and two i am very happy with the direction in which our list is headed, especially with midfielders such as Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Davey, Sylvia, Mckenzie, Moloney, Jones, even green with players such as Blease, strauss and pick 12 and *Viney* Temptation is what he could provide more in a leadership role but i belive we are making the right steps and they arnt baby ones at this stage in my eyes. Stay the course
-
Yeah great to know, hopefully he can set himself up for his first real preseason and make the most of it really want to see what sam can do. Hopefully this and the contract extension gives hime a real boost and fresh start to his AFL career
-
Time is it true that the starting point of this trade is your 12 for norths 17.... Straight out no. Starting point is our second rounder

Is meant to be a very astute player regarding coaching.. and off field matters, and i think it isnt exactly his fault how injury prone he is, i think this is a really positive move for him and the club. Apparently did alot of work off field with Casey during his periods being injured
