  1. I dont know if anyone watched the post game today? but Bailey seems motivated... was barely impressed by todays effort mention exactly what you are saying: ie. last week to this week is un-acceptable, "next week we need to produce the same effort, or very close to this effort, and the next week and the next week and the next week and the next week" Bailey isnt stupid, he knows what the next half of the seasons holds for him and the team, i would expect more of the same if i was a MFC player this week I dont think we have read the end of the DB story for some reason
  2. i said that the cream always rises and today it started to, one good performance is ok but he really did lead from the front today, was super happy with what he gave MFC today
  3. i agree with this, spencer has been good for casey could play up forward maybe... dont think anyone comes back after one good game in the VFL
  4. Moloney Sylvia Green Trengove Petterd Watts
  5. was replying to comments that he hasnt put on any weight since being drafted has other obvious deficiencies atm is a talent none the less but thanks for the insightful comment added greatly to the subject...not
  6. I reckon that this will be one of the games to watch this year from a Melbournefc perspective, will be really driven to make an impact and make up for last week, no reason we shouldnt get 20-25K there
  7. As far as the comparisons go, i think its stems from them both being, high draft selections, both around 193cm, both taking time to develop, Goddard has arrived, both considered versatile??? I think Morton can be versatile, dont think Goddard plays as a key back often, he is the ultimate in versatility though.... didnt Morton play a fair bit back during 09? maybe im dreaming you are correct, he will definitely be capable of playing wing/forward to effect as a minimum
  8. Telethon is on tonight, get on board everyone, Jonesy just wrote on facey that its been a hit so far wonder how many have signed up?
  9. RobbieF - I believe that Morton may be shaped in the Goddard mould... maybe not as good, big boots to fill obviously, i liked what i saw from Morton in 09, he has suffered injuries since then and has straggled a bit obviously. Has great running ability, and can make good decisions, does rush himself under pressure i think... but hasnt played at this pace for a while. He was always seen as a utility in my opinion, tall a bit lanky, can run... thats my take not much else Where do you see him playing?
  10. I noted in the BP thread that he HAS added 10kgs since being drafted with injuries and reduced pre-seasons, only weighs 5kgs less than Goddard at this stage.... and is barely 22... think he will put on the required KG's soon then hopefully uses it to some affect
  11. Cale has put on 10kg since joining the Dees, still only at 89 or something, but can see him getting to where he needs to be 93ish i would think..... Then he will actually be quite a unit if he looks in the mirror and is prepared to use it, wouldnt mind knowing what Goddard weighs.... and after looking is 93, might get there within another pre season and might take off.... without injury etc
  12. Might throw Sandi up there.... he is un-rivaled in what he does
  13. Is for the weekend against adelaide
  14. sorry...Trengove not in popular 22
  15. Sorry on the MFC webpage .... http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/110927/default.aspx
  16. The football department want help....lol maybe they will just print the most selected screen and post it on the change room door is actually quite fun though i brought in Bate and Warnock for Dunn and Bennell
  17. Maybe the fact that he is on GWS's "wishlist" tells you something about his quality and value? I still rate Morton highly
  18. Port might give them a run.... but your close enough IF we lift our intensity things may improve significantly, big IF at the moment
  19. Yeah we bottomed out that year... after they won 2 spoons, and we continued to win two spoon, but the same time yeah
  20. I dont know if i will take much out of this list, i could have written something very similar.... and it states that dates are 09/10.....ect would be the players worth targeting however, times change
  21. Thast kinda my point but we are seeing different sides to the coin, your saying that in a good side in my opinion a side with depth player A plays well, but in a bad side with less depth player A plays poorly... So what is he a good player in a good side or a bad player in a bad side? i would have thought that its Collingwoods depth which allows their better players to look good and play well? thats my point, so the bottom 6 players allow the better 6 to play well Most teams have 6 good players, not every team has their worst 6 at the same level
  22. Herald suns article today states this plus Scully, out top 4 for tackles last year jordie, mcdonald, moloney and scully, only one has played this season.... effectively costing us 15+ tackles a game, when players like jones and sylvia dont tackle.....
  23. Disagree, i think you will find the strongest teams performance is often mirrored to the strength of their bottom 6 players, ie. DEPTH Collingwood are so often labeled as an EVEN team in that who are their bottom six do they have a "bottom six"? they have a bottom 10-12 who are all good players
  24. In my opinion, Bailey doesnt seem like the "best" coach in the league, i am not a Bailey hater and have tried to avoid voicing opinion on the subject. I do think he has brought in the talent needed and is developing them, but.... If MFC are serious about winning a premiership any time soon then they should aim to lure "THE BEST" towards the club, we want the best players etc, that needs to be complimented by the best coaching department possible. To me Bailey doesnt seem like the BEST option possible atm, trouble is only 1-2 clubs can have "the best" 16 others will not.... Also, who will be the "best coach" in 3 years time when we are realistically pushing for the premiership? will it still be Malthouse and Roos? who knows Thomson wasnt anywhere near the best until his teams breakthrough season, no he is "great"? it is amazing how premierships change the perspective of a coach.... Clarkson..... Had the great year but how well can he coach the new forward press? This is what needs to be answered, can Bailey do a Thomson?
  25. those stats were sickening.... all the KPI possible and we are ranked 15-16-17 and i think thats for the year not just against WC
