  1. Out: Dunn, Bail, Spencer, McDonald In: Green, Gysberts/Couch, Jamar, Bate
  2. I watched it, it was the typical Freo win; Most of the players were passengers on the back of Super Pav and a few others I'd put a defensive forward on Johnson, Play Chip or Tom McDonald on Pavlich, Nicholson on Balentyne, Joel MacDonald or Rivers on Mayne. Job done from a defensive point of view. Problem for us is kicking a winning score, not holding them to a mediocre total IMO.
  3. i agree, when our delivery inside the forward 50 is half decent even Garland and Rivers look like forwards with a bit of chop. I'd pass on Cloke for that sort of money, but if he is the best player that has shown any interest in becoming a demon then the club should do their best to get him.
  4. Guys like Bail are the Dead wood on our list - I dont care how fit you might be, if you cant kick at a decent level, you will be 'dead wood' on any AFL list I dont classify Bennell and Jetta as dead wood. They have traits that your run of the mill VFL player or draftee dont.
  5. If we can improve our kicking to forwards inside 50 we are a chance this week. Freo have been pretty average this year
  6. I get a "Oops! Something went wrong!" error when i try to subscribe? Can you PM me account details so I can transfer cash accross?
  7. I agree with everyone that this would be a good thing for us securing Viney with a 2nd rounder. Its funny though look back at under 18 AA sides, full of unfulfileld or disapointing players really 2002 Daniel Bell Adam Cooney David Kellett Byron Schammer James Allan Ryley Dunn Matthew Ferguson Adam Fisher Brendon Goddard Troy Selwood Stephen Gilham Paul Johnson Steven Salopek Kade Simpson Callum Urch Matthew Moody Ryan Crawford Jared Brennan Raphael Clarke Anthony Corrie Paul Shelton Luke Shackleton 2003 2003 All-Australian Under-18 team NSW/ACT: Shaun Daly, Nick Potter Northern Territory: Tom Logan Queensland: Jake Furfaro South Australia: Adam Cooney, David Kellett, Brad Symes, Beau Waters, Josh Willoughby Vic Country: Troy Chaplin, Ryley Dunn, Colin Sylvia, Kane Tenace, Andrew Walker Victoria Metro: Eddie Betts, Ricky Dyson, Luke Herrington, Brock McLean, Brayden Shaw, Fergus Watts Western Australia: Kepler Bradley, Farren Ray And Lucas Cook springs to mind too.....
  8. Thats a strong looking Casey side on paper!
  9. I remember watching his 1st game. Seems like a decade ago! Cant fault his efforts and his dedication to the club. Good luck to him
  10. Lynch looked gone a few years back but he's playing good footy these days
  11. Tom McDonald out injured, and Spencer and bate are omitted In: Green, Davey and Jetta
  12. FB: Jetta Frawley Nicho HB: Watts, Rivers Garland C: Moloney, McKenzie, Trengove HF: Howe, Martin, Sylvia FF: Green, Dunn, Davey FOLL: Jamar, Grimes, Jones INT: Blease, Magener, MacDonald, Sub Tapscott I'd prefer Dunn and Martin in the forward line to begin the game, than Rivers and Garland. Green and Davey will help with our goal scoring problems and Sylvia usually likes to get a few against the tigers.
  13. 8 kg's?! I guess a broken jaw = liquid diet but 8kgs is a fair % to loose Maybe thats the next radical weight loss procedure. No more lap banding, just a hip & sholder to the face!
  14. I actually think Fev could and should be able to play in the AFL for a couple of years yet. Cant see anyone giving him a run though
  15. Our kids would learn a heap from playing and training with a gun like Judd. Same goes with Ablett at Gold Coast. I think teh pro's of them teaching the youngsters outweights any percevied lack of opertunity arguement
  16. He's a swan districts product so no argument from me
  17. Its strange how everyone is saying that Viney is nothing special nowdays based purley on other players having good carnivals. Its still the same Jack Viney who everyone was raving about and who was being touted as a lock in our 'hypothetical best 22 for future seasons' theads? If we were to pass on Viney with our first pick and GWS or someother club picked him up, i believe it would be the modern eras equivelant to dumping norm smith as coach. Lets take him at 3, pick his mate Wines at 4 and soldier on in 2013
  18. Grimes finds the footy, takes some nice grabs and doesnt give up. These are all traits i find endearing, so thats why he's one of my favourites. Plus i've had the pleasure of meeting him on a couple of occsions and he's a ripping bloke! As for people having a dig at Trengove, plenty of players plateu after a few years in the system. Rich had a coupel of down seasons after his rising star year but its obvious he is quality and is playign well again.
  19. Maybe. but even still, Spencer did his knee last year, was picked due to a glut of injuries, not based on form. Dont hate the player for havign a crack becasue he was the only fit ruckmen left to choose fom.. I dont see a "never pick James Strauss ever again" thread - he cant make an impact at casey. yes he broke his leg, but Spencer's knee was similarly serious. Anyway, a month ago the harsh thread titles were directed at Sylvia. After the last two games there i dont see the 'leave this club colin syliva' threads anymore. I dont think there should ever be a thread started purley to pay out on one of our players, form comes and goes, and as frustrating as they may be, i think all of our players try their best.
  20. FWIW i wouldnt read a pinned thread aboout the rules of the F/S process anyway!
  21. righto, thanks for going easy on me. its that part which i wasnt aware of
  22. can we not commit to JV, but then trade picks 3 & 4 (for Boak and say Ben Reid) which would leave us with pick ~12 to take viney as a no brainer
  23. I'll sit on the fence for this one. If someone feels that making a "X-player should never be picked again thread" is a good idea, well i dont agree,. It is overly negative and is not a topic that will generate decent discussion. In this instance i dont have a problem with the dumb thread posts etc. On the other hand, if there is a genuine discussion taking place and someone has a differing veiw to the 'norm' (read faux moderators) then i do feel that the usual suspects are pretty quick to jump in, state their opinion as gospel and smother the differing opinion. At the end of the day though, if you dont like it, leave!
