I was listening to Sports Central on Perth radio 6pr last night (3AW sister station). Brad Hardie said that the word on the street is that Pies have offered Cloake 3 years @ ~750,000 a year, Dockers @ 900,000, and Dee's 1.1 mill. Then they also discussed how the demons seem to get into bidding wars with Freo and insinuated that it had something to do with Schwab and Connelly?! Think that’s a bit farfetched, but they seemed to think us making a play for Clark and now Cloake is an ego trip for Schwab against this old club not sure if it has any merit

The problem is, until people stop reading / watching it all, the market will only get more saturated with opinion pieces and "expert analysis" by ex-players and any other bloke who reckons he knows what he’s talking about. I can’t believe Fox can have so many programmes purely on Footy. When you think about it, it’s no real surprise that you get rubbish journalism or articles based on a hunch rather than fact, when the bulk of the newsworthy stuff takes place over the weekend leaving an entire week for speculation and innuendo

Freo have always been pretenders. I think its impossible to have any pride in a purple jumper, the players demonstrate this year after year That being said i'd prefer their win loss record in 2012 than ours.

No i cant, but i'd expect that they both 'train the house down' and follow instructions/play a specific role for the coaches. Not saying that it means they are valuable contributors or that i think they deserve to be picked so regularly, but the coaches must have a reason for playing them?

I remember the eagles were criticised about fitness a few years back too. They were the kings of the 2nd half fade out. I think learning a press can be tiring as you find people do more running than they really need to. Pressing (or Zoning) requries alot of running, yes, but even more so if your're not smart about it or dont quite understand it. As the guys understand their positions and the press they'll be able to be more efficient in their defensive running.

Jared has been playing well, he's probably our best performing 'senior' player. I'd back his word, but it would be interesting to see if sylvia or Beamer would have said the same thing
