  1. We carry people on our list every year. Why not carry Jurrah (Reward>Risk IMO)
  2. The devil (demon) you know....... Carlton have put off talks until the end of the season. If Neeld wants experienced mature bodies i'd prefer to get Brock back than give a chance to someone who cant get a game in a good AFL list. Spin it which ever way you want, Mclean is a good AFL player. Not the best, but better than many on our list (based on current age/form)
  3. fair call, although in 2010 i would have told you that we'd have a midfield in 2012 that would be far more effective than the one we run out with currently
  4. looking back i find it funny how attitudes have changed. We dumped bailey and said 'a new coach with a sembilence of a game plan is all we need, our list is ready to take the next step, its talented, it just needs direction' 2012 Preseason and first few games 'Neeld is a hard case, he'll turn these spoilt brats into a good diciplined side, might take time but we have the footy department to turn this talented list into a decent AFL team' and now 'Dont judge Neeld on 2012 because he's only had the team for 5 mins. The list is garbage and we need to make wholesale changes to the list in order for Neeld's master plan to take shape, we'll be good in another 2 years....' I fear that a more experienced coach would have been able to implement a game style that allowed us to beat the teams we could beat under bailey, and get us to be more competative against the power clubs. We have Neeld for 3 years and he has a plan which is something we havent seemed to have for a while, but theres plenty of ways to get from A - B. I think we could have gotten to B in a less drastic manner and saved us all alot of pain! Getting back to the start of my post i hope that 2013 is the start of some on field success becasue i'm sick of revising my expectations on when we might be any good
  5. belzebub, i understand your sentiment but surley you need to look at this scenario with a bit of perspective? Sylvia running away after crashing his car on a night of poker and booze is DUMB Beamer going out and getting plastered and pi$sing on a bar is DUMB Jurrah being granted compasionate leave by the club and getting invloved in a family fued is COMPLICATED they're probably all dumb, to different degrees but surley a bit of empathy is required in such a scenario?
  6. i think the club will continue to stand by him. If the club were going to walk away from him they could have done so after the initial trip when the incident took place. I'm confident that they will be in contact with the AFL to talk through a range of scenarios, and make a decision on his future based on that.
  7. agree about Green being a reliable set shot for years and years. What a champion of the club
  8. 2012 has been worse than 2011 i dont care what anyone says. yes 2011 wasnt pretty either but at when we played against teams like port, north, richmond and lions or an interstate team at the G I'd sit down with hope of a win. This year I sit down to watch the games knowing we will loose. injuries have taken a toll but i enjoyed watching our guys win every now and then! It was nice to see the potential on the list show what it could do every so often. This year our team looks to be giving a good effort but just look very very average all over the ground. In summary, 2012 might be the shocker year we had to have to turn the wheel back the other way, but surley things didnt have to hit rock bottom like they have to teach a bunch of professional footy players to play a different game style. 2011 was bad but 2012 is also not acceptable IMO
  9. Would love to see Brad Scott go into meltdown in the post match presser!
  10. Anyone else think this thread could/should be locked until after the hearing to avoid any unneccesary speculation?
  11. I think Neeld is more interested in testing out the list to see who is worth keeping than winning games at this point in time. This is probably due to the fact that we've lost some core players with injury but i still find it puzzling that he'd pick defenders as forwards over guys who have been doing OK for Casey and who are trying to forge careers in the forward line. I wouldnt be suprised if Jamar gets put on ice as our next long term injury, and Spencer and Fitzpatrick get given some continuity to see what they've got. Would aslo expect guys like Gysberts, Strauss, Jetta, Morton Petterd etc to play more games from now on, unless Neeld has made his mind up about them.
  12. anyone else think we might loose to GWS and GC and finish last, kill the pig in the draft including viney with our 2nd round pick and actually play footy in 2013?
  13. The Eagles and Dockers want their own sides in the WAFL too. I think its a bad idea, and a slap in the face to WAFL or VFL clubs who might not be as poweful as the AFL clubs, but who have passionate members and players who dont seem to come into the AFL clubs calculations. If the AFL clubs want a reserves comp then they should have a 18 team reserve comp IMO
  14. Bommers getting pantsed has put a smile on my face. I'd like a win for the MFC though
  15. Q: What's the problem with lawyer jokes? A: Lawyer's don't think they're funny, and no one else thinks they're jokes. Q: What do have when a lawyer is buried up to his neck in wet cement? A: Not enough cement. Q: Where can you find a good lawyer? A: In the cemetery. Q: What's the difference between a porcupine and a Mercedes Benz full of lawyers? A: The porcupine has pricks on the outside.
  16. i feel sorry for bater, because he gives his all. I have trouble bagging players like him because at least you know they're trying. His guitar playing is also very average, which is a pity becasue im sre he would like to persue somthing in that direction after footy
  17. Chappy may look past it at the cats, but he is quality and would be in the top 5-10 players at our club easy, regadless of if he was a better player 2 years ago I'd love to see him in our team
  18. I was there at the game that day and saw the end of the scuffle. 2 on 1 isnt self defence
  19. Crazy, pretty much summed up what i was thinking before i posted!
  20. Nathan Jones has improved his kicking over the years, so maybe you can teach players to improve their kicking?
  21. who ever retires in the form of their career? Just like Brad Green is copping it now, people are quick to forget what a good player Bruice was for us. Over a 200 game career you're going to get peaks and troughs in form. Credit where credit's due please!
  22. Bruce was my favourite player during the 2000's. Sad to see him end his career at the Hawks.
  23. its funny how every thread contains a paraphrased version of this post, no matter what the topic started we find a way to get to this
  24. haha I love Demonland People are calling for beamer to be dropped all year due to form, but when Neeld finally does it, people then cry funny business?!
