Grimes was deffinatley a demons fan growing up and i thought i read somwhere that so was Evans

I'd love to see what the KPI's for these roles are (if any). Kelly, you didnt manage to scout one mature player from another list - You're Fired! "Mental Skills Coach haha classic
-
of course they are, but there is a right and wrong way to deal with things. You dont hear the PM coming out and naming which ministers arent doing their job to the level she would like. Thats for behind closed doors IMO. I dont think being hard and driven is muturally inclusive with being a [censored]?! The comment about Davey/Casey fans didnt need to be said in public. Respect is a two way street. Its pretty disrespectful IMO for a new coach to make such a statement about a player who has served the club well for as long as Aaron.

Phil Scully offered GWS gig in November 2010!

Love rollins band. Completley off topic, but how good are some of those lyrics? And I'll tell you things that you already know so you can say: I really identify with you, so much Pure gold!In Scully's case And I'll tell you things that you want to hear so you can say: I really believe in Tom, so much -
Pendles must be gone? The one year deal screams GWS offer. Even if he hasnt allready signed the fact that he has left the door open for an offer means he is interested in the size of a potential offer. As we all know, not many clubs can match the kind of money GWS are splurging around so GWS are in the box seat as far as i am concerned

Is this known for a fact? If Neeld is pissing the boys off left right and center it wont be a good thing for the morrale of the group or our on field performance. Just like Gary Lyon said after the sacking of Bailey, the guys need to enjoy their footy...

in all fairness, 25kg wouldnt get him out of the "fat joke" catagory -
I tend to agree Billy. I'm optimistic that the man knows what he is doing, however i also feel that he is making alot of bold statements in the press that dont need to be made this early into his 1st preseason

Some real critical posts on LJ. I don’t think his defensive side of his game is as bad as people are making out. Neeld is talking the talk – a hard line where he has no time for treating people differently etc. Whilst that’s all well and good in principal, the reality is that people are not all the same and some people don’t react to certain management styles. I really hope that behind closed doors he is a little more tactful in his dealings with people that what we are lead to believe, or at the very least that Leigh Brown and the line coaches can play a bit of a “good cop” role to Neelds “bad cop”! The lad's aren’t robots, and whether we like it or not some people need to be managed differently to bring the best out of them. A good manager will adapt their style when dealing with certain personality types, so whilst I don’t advocate “going easy” on guys like LJ, I really hope Neeld's style doesn’t ostracize various players on our list. Whether Neeld likes it or not, LJ is on our list, he's got a heap of talent, and probably needs to be managed in a different manner to say Jones or Moloney? I’d be interested to hear how RudeBoy thinks LJ will react to a “my way or the highway” style?

Timing was the issue here - we got burnt with GWS coming in so soon after our bumper draft year. Glad we havent lost more players to be honest. We never stood a chance with that type of money on offer + a job for the old man. GWS sure head hunted the scully's didnt they? -
Its very easy for Neeld to talk up "structure" and "game plan". He's also quick to say he doesnt know the players and what they can do yet. I find this somewhat alarming, because surley a structure and game plan revolves around the capabilities of a group of players? For example, i actually liked dean baileys "plan" when he used Aaron Davey behind the ball as the "designated kicker" , becasue he had superior footskills to the majority of the list at that time. Neeld may know how he wants his team to play, but its yet to be seen wheather our players are fit, smart, talented and commited enough to play the way that he wants. If we arent, then Neeld will have to find a plan B for a year or two? Basically i'll reserve judgment on Neeld until i see us play, but its one thing to talk tough and another to deliver on that talk

Really? I thought #50 was gold

Agreed on Jetta I also see Bate in the same catogory as he always seems to be trying to give his all and do the team things. Olddee's mate, #7, shoud also show a bit more if he is given one role to focus on (forward or backline, not both). imposters like Dunn will either flourish under a new coach or be further found out and kicked to casey!

What was the first VFL/AFL Melbourne game you attended?
DemonWA replied to Wilson7's topic in Melbourne Demons
Living in WA from a young age obviously doesnt offer quite as many chances to see the dees as i would like. 1st game i remember seeing was when i was 12. Round 14 1998 at Subi against the Eagles who were in much better form than us. We ended up beateing them. Robbo kicked 4, Yze played probably his best game at that point, and Viney carved too. Another game i have memories of seeing live was round 5, 2000 against Freo at the WACA. Pavlich played his 1st game that day & Modra was playing for the dockers. Afetr trailing at half time the guy came out and ended up beating them comfortably. -
I think that more than anyone else, Jack will be held back by having Mitch Clark around the team. Seems that whatever he had to offer we are getting with Clarke + a few years of experience
-
I dont think its over the top to think that the Dee's held scully back. It could have been two fold - Dont let him show his worth so that people wouldnt try to poach him, and keep him on ice so that he's 100% ready to go if he had have stayed
-
The reason people have a problem with terms like "fat side" is because they are over used. These terms are in vogue, and IMO commentators seem to sweat on being able to slip them into their call. You never hear them say “there’s plenty of room on the members wing” these days. Its “the fat side is on” – give me a break! Same goes for Elite & insipid. There are so many words which could be used to describe these players, teams or instances, but the footy media will use Elite & insipid whenever they get a chance.

Robbo @ 68 in the same year. Some good value there!
-
People rate nason becasue he was a good value dream team player in his first season. Nothing special at all

haha it seems having a sleave tat is a prerequisite for modeling the new seasons merch!

I hate the AFL becoming americanised in general Draft Combine, talk of two leagues ala MLB, NHL etc, if they get their way we'll be chanting Dee-Fence, Dee-Fence, Dee-Fence whenever the ball goes into our defense half. god help us.
