Interesting to see all of the discussion RE the backline. i lean to RPFC's way of thinking. Why on gods earth would we move Garlo from the backline, when he is forming a formidable backline combo with Chip. If anyone is vunerable it is Rivers, as Tommy McDonald is showing a bit in preseason, and Sellar is obviously another option. But as a general rule, everyone needs to step back and stop looking at the new fellas weight and height stats, and start looking at the way they train and play. People need to remember that Sellar couldnt get a game at the crows. Also dont discount smaller bodies gettign a run under Neeld's game plan. Dale Thomas, Sidebottom and Beams, pendlebury etc arent big blokes.

We are too harsh on our players sometimes. I think we can make the top 8 with the players we have got, just some of them need to get a little older, stronger and wiser IMO Beamer, Trengove, Sylvia, McKenzie, Jones, Gysberts etc is a decent midfield.

agreed

great article, great man

Robert Murphy is not a big bloke, Nat Fyfe isnt either, Cam Bruce isnt If Cale wants to take the next step he can. His size isnt an excuse IMO

anyone who thinks Cale will bulk up will be disapointed for a long time to come. If cale is to make it, it wont be as a big bodied, pack crashing power KPP.

face palm even?!

Yeah Green again IMO He's only got 1-2 years left in him, so i'd let him stay captain. Trengove will be captain one day, but i wouldnt rush him into it now. Any other choice would only be a stop gap captain like Jr ened up being

i love rumours, hope he slips through! -
Do you actually watch these guys play or just read their stats? Garland is up there with our most consistant and corageous defenders. Spoils like a beast, marks well and uses the ball effectivley. Comparisons to morton are so far off the mark its not funny.
-
i was hoping for 31, so that i can wear my 2010 jumper without the memory of jabba the hut's son.
-
all seem fair enough i guess. Still think its dissapointing that Evans is no longer wearing 50! What do you reckon they'll give Viney? 1, 23 or 31 seem to be the likley ones in my eyes
-
One name not mentioned yet is Cook. Along with Fitz i see him to be surpus to our current tall forward stocks. With Clarke, Watts, and maybe even Jamar, Martin, MacDonald & Sellar all likley to spend time in then forward 50, he'd need to show somthing this year and the next i would have thought? now i understand talls take time and he's still filling out etc, but Watts, Clarke and Martin arent old
-
totally agree. I cant believe he is able to find the strength and time to be involved with the footy club, let alone be the president words like inspirational, legend, great, role model etc get bandied around a little to much for my likeing, but Jim deserves every bit of recognition he gets.

Rudeboy, I purchased and read your book a while ago now, but whilst i kew "rudeboy" on Demonland knew LJ well, i didnt quite put 2 and 2 together! Thanks for all of the time and effort that you have invested into Liam. Your family and friends have gone above and beyond to assist him in making it as an AFL player. What great people you are... and colllingwood supporters all the same?! Hopefully the Dee's and Liam can have some good onfield success in the coming seasons. Go Dees and go the Jurrahcane!

Dangerfield could well be the most overrated player in the comp. Plays a handfull of good games each year. goes missing otherwise
-
Unco players are good for the game (like bad umpiring decisions)
DemonWA replied to Courtney_Fish's topic in Melbourne Demons
Josh Kennedy's run up for a set shot is not so much "unco", but it is a laugh -
understand where you are coming from but i dont agree with the general philosophy that by changing the mindset of supporters our club will become more succesful
-
comparitivley id still put us in the lower half of clubs.

We are a poor club for as long as our books suggest as much

I remember skulling beers on schoolies with Farren Ray, a day or so after he was drafted, but thats another story
