2023 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
Initially we all got excited and were a chance for Reid, then Dursma, then Mc Cercher., then Sanders and now thanks to the AFL the 5’2 Watson and what next. Hawthorn worked this [censored] out years ago. Let those who want to play the untried draft game do so and they will pick off the ripe fruit.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Current whipping boy by some, but not by me. Drafted 9 in his draft year, has generally been more than adequate when needed, is a good kick and a good big body match up. Ok decision l reckon.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
I wish the AFL would just be quiet and not try attempt to support/ justify the tribunal’s decision. The AFL’s response has done nothing to earn the respect of the MFC or a decent number of the wider football community, including parents. I agree a suspension of Maynard wouldn’t have achieved much but a suspension of Maynard and a couple of rule changes might have.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
What a 4 hour circus for expected outcome. Nice theatre AFL. Had the chance but sadly didn’t convince anyone on head contact in AFL

This ‘Premiership era’ wasted inside 50
And neither do the other small forwards if we’re brutally honest and that’s part of our coward line malaise.

Michael Hibberd Hanging Up the Boots
Wonderful team player. Tough ,focused and a Goodwin contested footy beast.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Tom Green pick 10 in that seriously good 2019 draft. Giants are handy

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Not sure l agree on rest for anyone. (Yes l know I’m a hard a..e) There is a weeks rest after the last home and away game and we are still in the hunt for 2nd Spot. Dont think I’d be leaving the door ajar to anyone to knock us off.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
Tomlinson held us together at times and was pretty calm under fire. I thought he was in our best six. May did not play with his normal purpose and steely focus ,same with Lever, although the latter improved a bit in the second half. Good on Adam yesterday l would be sorry if he goes. When called to step us he usually does the job.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
On the ‘G’ on a nice warm dry September day l reckon he could be rather useful up forward.

My 3 word player analysis V GWS
Top heavy in the conditions. Strange team selection. Not enough skill in the forward half. (The big one , needs honest discussion and rearrangement.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Very nice size and amongst Allies best against WA. A lot of talent in that Allies side it would seem. Tassie boys and Qld academy boys for starters. ‘Young Connor might have appeal.

Dynamic Ruck Duo Max & Brodie
Agree. They had Rohan, we had a forward line that underperformed, we’re not dangerous and most of them gave us nothing on the scoreboard.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Geelong
He’s a genuine midfield forward and we are deficient in both areas at the moment.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
So what we have in the way of key forwards are BB and JMac who are not playing , injury prone and contracted for another year. Why? Think we might have got that wrong. Smith who is not very good and Jefferson shaping as a bust. Leaves us with pretty much only JVR , good potential , Petty and Fritta to go with. Hope these long term contracts don’t haunt us. Think we have to turn over a few rocks, or shake something loose with our draft picks to sort this out.
