Welcome to Demonland: Oscar Berry
He’s a guard known for being uber competitive. So he has to be able to move, call plays, be quick and run the floor. Scouting notes seem to make him seem not good enough for nba but seems like he’ll he annoying for forwards.

Jason Taylor - visionary or overrated
JVR is having a bad season. Jefferson is developing and has had some good and bad games. Kolt had an injury and Laurie was in the Covid year that you might as well have pulled a name out of a hat. It’s probably worth looking back more years than a couple to see his work and development I also think about how he wanted to move heaven and earth to get the picks for Holmes and Georgiardis and Butters. I think it’s fair to say he knows what he is doing.

JVR with another lace out to Kentfield.

Remember when there used to be depth?

The only nice thing I have to say is JVR knows how to deliver the ball so a forward leads.

For those who missed it, watch the last quarter replay on afl.com.au. I’m sure someone will upload a highlights package, but it won’t do the quarter justice. It’s the 4th, he’s a 17 year old; and just says come with me boys in the 4th. Kicks 2, contested grabs, but it’s the tap work where he just hits players on the run. His first 3 quarters were worrying and then bam! Comes from nowhere to change up the balance in the middle. If Cooper Duff-Tytler had that quarter, it would be on all the footy shows this week!

CASEY: Rd 12 vs Essendon VFL
Metha looking likely. Kentfield huge down back. Billings and Laurie make it look easy. Culley hits the pack hard and runs through it.

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Yep. Odd, but yes we can.

CASEY: Rd 10 vs Sydney Swans
The more these two play together the better they’ll get. Unfortunate it’s in the 2s but chemistry is happening.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
I like him, but I agree it was an odd pick for us. MJ was rated at that pick and had the form to be picked that high. He might have been told he was coming in to play the Melksham roll this week on Sicily and he’d be out of the team next week for Melk. Ie no pressure on him, just play a roll. I want him to succeed because we need him to. We need the key forwards and backs to work.

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Geelong VFL
It’ll (hopefully) be a nice problem for Casey to have next week with a potential 5 AFL ins. I could see a way all of Lever through Lindsay return to the 1s.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I always thought he was very much like Lindsay when I saw them both play last year. Good skills and runs.

No probs. And the reaction is to a saints supporter not you 🤣 Rookie Me: Kalani White (Suns Academy/Queensland) Key Defender | 198cm | 05/05/2007 White has an interesting decision on his hands next year, being tied to Gold Coast's academy but also eligible to nominate under father-son rules for Melbourne. The son of former Dee and Docker, Jeff, Kalani is a developing talli capable of playing at either end of the ground. His mobility is impressive and he seems to have found a home down back, where he was an Under 16 All-Australian. White also featured once for the Allies this year, while averaging eight disposals and four marks for the Suns Academy Herald Sun: (Kevin Sheehan top 25). Kalani White, son of former No.1 draft pick and Melbourne ruckman Jeff, looms as a top prospect for 2025. White will be eligible both as a father-son for the Demons and as an Academy player for the Suns. 2025 TOP 25 PROSPECTS 👉 bit.ly/3K6azhD Zerohanger: https://www.zerohanger.com/afl-draft-melbourne-excited-by-early-look-of-promising-2025-club-tied-prospect-157071/amp/ ESPN: https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/42038641/afl-draft-2025-top-10-way-too-early-power-rankings-dyson-sharp-zeke-uwland-willem-duursma A host of club-tied prospects just missed out, including Kalani White (Suns Academy & Melbourne father-son), U16 AA: https://www.goldcoastfc.com.au/news/1384198/suns-academy-dominates-u16-all-australian-boys-squad

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Good to hear. Couldn’t have worked harder. He’s going to be a role player, but I’d love to see him on a list. the other one I’ve heard a lot about is Ricky Mentha. Apparently just a great kid.

He Could legit be anything. The height, leap, reading of the flight - first round. But down back you can be out of sight if you are playing a lock down role. I hope he plays forward / ruck next year for the Allies and we can see his full skills on display. And as good as the Academy systems are, it’s different from the live and breathe of vic. So who knows what the hype would be if he was at Caulfield Grammar.
