  1. If one can beleive what is said here and on other fora, #12 may well be available. Or, hopefully, #10.
  2. And, possibly, number #6 may become available for another star ranga in 2012 ?????? Not sure that he is quite as quick (relative, 2010s vs 1950s) as Frank Bluey, multi Premiership player, but pretty bloody fast.
  3. Thanks Deeoldfart, and KC in particular, as well as all those who keep those of us who can't get there informed.. So, either of you, is Fitzy the real thing or has the opposition been really bad? From some of KC's descriptions he sounds really agile as well as very tall. Is he being groomed as a tall deep forward of the Paul Salmon (early version) type? Is he a ready, and likely option for next week (dependent of course on how all go tomorrow) ? How about Bail? Ready for MFC next week? Thanks again.
  4. surely the incentive is exactly your final four words ---- TO WIN A FLAG !!! Wouldn't that br more than enough incentive ??
  5. Amazing stuff! Cale Morton (& others) please note that they kick it on the full!!!
  6. If, from all accounts, that was a satisfactory output, then the club is in deep hsti (anagram)! Whoever is to coach next year, the old MFC thought process "near enough, good enough" just has to disappear. And I don't mean the penultimate coach's " er, umm, we are, er umm, going to be , er, umm, ruthless from now on" empty platitude - the new guy has to DEMAND IT and call all those not prepared to give it their all, all match, every match, to account.
  7. I only heard snippets on ABC and it seemed that "Morton didn't commit" was a common theme.
  8. ....and when / if we approach the "Premiership window" and the list builds, these guys who provide the grunt at the moment but can't deliver, will fall by the wayside.
  9. So our plans are dictated by the Collingwood President??? No wonder our club has no self esteem. Get the best available and appoint for 5 years if we think he is really any good.
  10. From what I hear, Tommy McNamara is no Morton - he has a red hot go every time!
  11. KC - thanks again for your commentary. Questions: Cook in the 2s - how did he go? McNamara - lots of possessions as a mid - is he due for a couple of games in the red 'n blue this season? Fitzpatrick - not a lot of possessions but does he look the goods?
  12. Thanks KC Did the much maligned Cook do much, from what you saw??
  13. POSITIVES 1. Howe 2. Surely the last we see of Cale
  14. It is interesting though, since they have in the past at least rated McNamara pretty highly, that he hasn't put in even a single appearance these last two years when the rest haven't exactly set the world on fire. I think Adelaide were after him a couple of years ago but he showed loyalty and said he wanted to remain a Demon - pity that someone with that degree of loyalty doesn't look as if he will make it, or even get another opportunity to show his worth. It sounds as if he has been remodelled from defence to the midfield - he would be surely worth at least a few games in the rest of this lost season so that they can decide yay or nay.
  15. Thanks KC - looking forward as always to your summation. I got a little confused by some of the banter at the top of the thread - who of the MFC emergencies didn't play, or, who did play??
  16. Two observations - named position often bears mo resemblance to starting position: Fitzpatrick was named on the wing last week, and though I didn't witness the game I would be pretty confident he didn't start, or certainly spend much time there. - coburg VFL ain't Geelong AFL
  17. I guess it depends just when Davey "got injured"? He looked as if he was under par physically long before he was declared injured. I would like to see him get ready for pre-season 2012, even if that means he is 'rested' for the remainder of this wasted season (giving someone else such as Laurence or Tom McDonald or Tom McNamara a run) under new tutelage, play as a forward, then see. Liam - as above - a new coach, possibly a new role, say as a HF floater who can run opposition down, and a demand for full commitment to the cause. I am not sure of Aussie's contract status - I would certainly demand a commitment from him to get fit and stay fit over the preseason, and commit to playing his heart out for another couple of seasons at least. Bennell?? The new coach needs to "interview him" and they need between them to work out if he really wants to play AFL. Jetta - needs more time.
  18. No, you probably shouldn't but you have!! On Bigpond no less, so clearly the truth that we have all been waiting for!! Remember, Herr Fuhrer has decreed that there can be no third party deals, unless your name is Chri$ Judd and your club is Visytank. And furthermore, paying Tom, or anyone else for that matter, above their value will further rip our club apart! Let him go if mercenary is his game and good luck to him, his knee, and to the senile eccentric coach.
  19. Back to the thread Haven't seen Casey this year - is Tom McNamara likely to make it? Looked very promising in his few games a couple of years back, and has been played, I believe, as a all mid this year. - is Tom McDonald likely to get a run this year, and if so as a forward or a defender? - did Morton do anything 'hard' at this level? - no mention of Fitzpatrick. - is Blease the natural replacement for Strauss ?
  20. And the Weagles would have no hope of playing in the big time this year - so much for rags to riches stories, however achieved!! Every club does have its lows - no way that the AFL would allow Collingwood to play in division 2, nor to miss out on their favorites each other playing twice in a season at OUR home ground.
  21. Probably cement a place in Casey firsts.....it was only a few weeks back that he was mooted as a MFC promotion.
  22. IN - any player who really wants to be part of our future OUT - anyone who can't be bothered to put in a full game's effort, which would seem like most this week and last
  23. Geez I am really starting to get a bit depressed over our first round picks - Cook dropped to VFL2s FCS Morton. Sylvia. #^*#}{<>£€^#
  24. Does that mean that Malthouse could turn Morton into a hard big tough guy?? I would like to see that!!
