That is what I was referring to earlier - for basically a first year player given Reiwoldt as a match up he IS doing a fair job.
-
Tom is doing a pretty good job: we will never ever get anywhere whilst Joel is in our 22
-
Not tonight he isn't.

Oh, great news.. "Only" the OP that stuffed Col Sylvia's formative years then! Really good news......NOT!
-
Probably won't see it a lot on the radio though. ;-)

What frustrates me most is the fact that he is said by some to have "elite skills" yet cannot ever hit a target. And if I hear "he can run and create space" one more time when he should be in a clinch getting the bloody ball, I will throttle him personally. So, what really are the attributes that he has shown with any degree of consistency over his 4 or 5 year career?

The next step in "the grand plan" will be to kick it to the hot spot: mark my words. It will happen.

you mean like Davey between round 1 and 3?
-
As I saw it, just now for the first time, he seemed totally nt ent on getting the ball: the Swans "victim" got in the way of Thomas' quest for the ball, and unfortunately, as happens in a contact sport, got a nasty injury. And, further, the Swans guy got into Thomas' back! The MRP has shown itself for the inconsistent reactionary integrity-free group I can remember.

I think that is a lost cause - what we need far more is five new ones, preferably 2013-17.

Have they checked to Facebook page of the CEO?

Martin hasn't been in great form: Sellar did more last week. But I tend to agree with deesrule that we need another big but athletic defender, as Garland and Rivers are not up to the bigger forwards. Martin has shown this aptitude, reads the play, and IMO fits the role. Sellar may become the swing man, Rivers the sweeper and Garland maybe even a mid though his disposal needs improvement.

Casey Scorpions Reserves - four Demons named
monoccular replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Presumably the VFL have rules about how many and who can be dropped to the Reserves when the Seniors have a bye. The likes of Bennell, Blease, Cook, Martin, Davis, Tynan will be just spectators then. A pretty poorly organised competition to have a bye year after year. If they are to be taken seriously as an AFL feeder / support competition they need to get an even number of teams so that byes aren't regularly stuffing up preparations. -
Thanks to all who have helped here My main poin of interest, at least at this stage, was that our conversion rate, per inside 50, is actually pretty good. Appears to be equal 5th in the competition, which may indicate that our forwards are performing up to par. Now were the HBs and the mids to deliver more inside 50s then we may well be in with a chance.

I think you misinterpret me. I am delighted that Tom McDonald, a young tall with a definite future, is still in the team and even if he doesn't set the world on fire he needs to keep getting game time. He hasn't played badly at all. I was referring to fumbles McDonald, aka Joel.

I guess if they are non-denominational and allow all those who wish to act out their superstitions then well and good, provided that no one group can claim special access. It could be interesting to see Muslims kneeling, Jews wailing, Catholics crossing themselves, Mormons door knocking and Hindus levitating all in the one room. Whose incense do they get to burn? Who knows, it is even possible perhaps that it may induce some cross religion tolerance. It would be sad however if turf wars developed as they have in so many places around the world.

??Sellar / Clark ??
-
....but Sisyphus at least pushed to rock to the top of the hill, not just a third of the way up!
-
Heaven forbid - fumbles McDonald offered another chance? For my two bob's worth, Dunn, Petterd, Couch and Sellar or Fitzpatrick for the bench, and do you have a tall as the sub? If not probably Dunn or Petterd (geez I hate the sub rule)!

PS: and as for that Kruzer cup game, I refused to go as I knew the outcome. I couldnt share any excitement at winning - it was a shameless charade played out in front of Mr Integrity's very eyes.
-
And what all those who accuse us for example of throwing that game against Richmond fail to remember is that Jordan McMahon only won the game with a fairly difficult long kick after the siren. Had we really wanted to tank that day we very nearly blew it.

Head high tackles...."drawing frees"
monoccular replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe many just agree. A free against the diver for dangerous play, and possibly a referral to the MRP as well would reduce this significantly. And I would extend that to "the Selwood drop" as well. And, yes, the "staging" suspension was brought in but hasn't ever been used. Probably waiting for that long awaited day that MFC reach and win a PF - then some poor bugger will be "made an example"!! -
Thanks - where did you source this? And I did mean inside 50s per goal. We presumably feature somewhere in the next ten?!
-
Thanks I could do that if I could find the inside 50s, but I also thought that there was a site that had this specifically.
