  1. I don't get this either. Here is a new coach laying down his KPIs, if you like, in a no nonsense no BS manner, and if you don't like it, bye bye. Surely that is what this club needs. Doesn't care about the past - let the admin do that if they like - he just seems to want to get on with the job, his way. Where is there ant suggestion of dissent or undermining in that clip? Am I really dumb and missing something profound?
  2. How about 6 or 8 weeks specifically on a HBF to gain confidence and feel for the game....and put in some KPIs related to tackles, shepherds, 1 percenters (whatever that are) then reassess where he is. He does need to start showing, regularly and consistently, a lot more intensity that he did on Saturday night. He also probably, like most of his team mates, another full Missen preseason to gain the endurance to run out games. I do like the Hawkins comparison though - was it Hawk's fourth or fifth season last year - and his "breakout" was not until the last half of the last game of that year.
  3. Let him play on the top CHFs this year and learn the craft - I am not in any way talking "tanking" but this year is for development and learning, and will never be about finals. Sure, maybe give him some time at CHF when there is no top opponent from whom to learn, and to give him a feel for the position, but think ahead.
  4. ?....and Tom McDonald?
  5. The incessant zooming in on the player with the ball, particularly at frees or marks, while we see absolutely nothing of the strategic placements ahead of the play pisses me off no end.
  6. What an outstanding job he did last night, and how angry did he make Goddard? Well done - not just the in and under clearance player, also a top rate annoying tagger.
  7. My big question re Tom is - are they playing him at CHB to learn how CHFs play the game, and if so how long before he is tried in a position where we really have a huge opening, CHF? How long is the learning process? IMO he looks a far better CHF prospect than #4.
  8. I have been one of his fiercest critics, but he did things last night that pleasantly surprised me. He needs to become consistent.
  9. He did what was asked of him - as a fill in. Unlikely to ever be a regular top 22.
  10. KC - thanks again. I am really looking forward to your usual incisive summation. Cheers.
  11. Certainly a very courageous and desperate mark........pity it wasn't a game turner.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Things changed, and JW contributed little. The only one with ZERO tackles in a team total over 100.
  13. I think few if any have mentioned the loss of Frawley, directing and running out of defence. Tom McD will have learned a lot from Reiwoldt, and I still think he may become the big CHF that many had hoped Watts would become. Playing at CHB on a true athletic champion will be fantastic for him, especially as he actually won the individual battle on the night.
  14. I too am a fan, but he just didn't look as if he cared tonight (though I am sure he actually did.) I won't condemn him on one shocker.......but you were needed in the final 15-10 minutes..... Where we're you?
  15. ATTN MODERATORS Is there any way you can delete the large in number but from few contributors personal jibes and attacks from this otherwise constructive thread?
  16. 44 to 66 inside 50s is a huge worry. But our conversion rate was actually better than the Saints. Their press overwhelmed us.
  17. I have always loved Jordie McK and I love him all the more. Disappointing result but we HAVE made a lot of headway tonight. We need Clark and possibly Jurrah, as well as some game time into Col. Great effort guys. Pity Reiwoldt put the icing on the cake as Tom McD has done a very good job.
  18. That Hayes goal was a bit too easy :-( Why can't our guys do something like that?
  19. We need you NOW Jack. Your time has arrived!
  20. In with a chance then that bloody umpire pings our ranga for HTB
  21. I can't really see how we can conjure up enough goals to win but a mighty effort so far.
  22. Yep We have had a lot of great negators but we need some POSITIVE play MUST SCORE NEXT GOALS
  23. And I will reiterate - Tom Mc IS doing a good job, and what a learning experience running with Reiwoldt all night - regardless of ultimate outcome.
  24. The Rivers deliberate was a disgrace - what could ANYONE do there. The umpires don't have a clue - wet night, wet ball!!! WTF
  25. Surely our best quarters and half for the season. Now I would be surprised were they to keep it up all night, but well done so far. McKenzie and Magner are doing well. And Jonesy is a legend!!
