NON-MFC: Round 02
They just need to hope for another “prosecutor” who has zero interest in a succesful prosecution. The review system needs a complete review.

TRAINING: Friday 22nd March 2024
Best news from those reports thanks WCW and Demonland was that Petty appeared to have moved, run and kicked without problems. As has been suggested maybe he will be the sub and if not needed earlier replaces BBB in Q3

One needs to have culture to have a culture problem. As long as that little stager has a bad day Saturday. 3066

NON-MFC: Round 02
0-3 How sweet it is. Now the question is are the Saints good or the Pies really that bad?

NON-MFC: Round 02
Why to Collingwood get an away game at their 'home' ground when Saints' home is Docklands??

NON-MFC: Round 02
Not so sure - the Saints could well cough it up Looks highly possible And I thought Ross Lyon was the master of locking games down

Hypotheticals on Tasmania entry concessions
Agree 100% - Alice is a great climate for winter footy - yes, last year we endured the wettest coldest week on record for our game - usually warm, dry, and sunny. But Darwin, where no doubt the majority of games would have to be played is frankly a friggin nightmare - hot, humid, wet. I understand (but am happy to be corrected) isn't their major competition season the summer? Of course these concessions, and the further worsening of the disgraceful schedule iniquity (quaintly refereed to by some as the draw) would be mitigated by transferring a Victorian based team in toto to Hobart, like South Melbourne - Sydney and Fitzroy Brisbane, leaving 18 teams (which for those mathematically inclined is an even number meaning no regular byes as we endure in the VFL) That would have to be IMO one of North, StKilda or Hawthorn, all of which have already dabbled into the Apple Isle. In fact amalgamating the three aforementioned into Tassie Devils would get us back to a far more manageable and equitable 16 team competition - pipe dream only I know.

OMG - but do they actually have to fly interstate this year?? They would feel right at home - will their president be on the plane too?

But, your honour, kicking is surely a football action.

Welcome to Demonland: Ricky Mentha
I guess it will tweak all it can now to benefit one and only one far southern state.

Welcome to Demonland: Ricky Mentha
And what for practical purposes does that even mean? We can find it but can’t benefit from it?

The Kalani White Thread (F/S)
Wait for the inevitable AFL last minute rule change that, having set up Collingwood Geelong and Carlton with multiple FS, we find it harder it to draft our FS - like the academy change that denied us Mac (though I am not so sure that I am as peed off as I was at the time). MFCSS kicking in here.

An Extra Round in 2025?
Will the bloody bye thanks to the Tassie team count as an extra round?
-
Tasmanian AFL Team
Intestiing - a friend of mine has a similar question 🙄 Clash jumpers - more marketing for the AFL. Exactly - and of course who gets the bye round 1 (after 0) and in the last round? Compromised beyond belief.

TRAINING: Tuesday 19th March 2024
Thanks WCW. You said that the Kolt was doing extra runs - he, and Woey also did a lot of running after the game on Sunday on the vacant MCG, and I must say they looked super impressive and enthusiastic (as much as one can determine from 150 meters away). Did Jake Lever have any sort of limp - though it was reported as cramp on Sunday, it is not unknown for clubs to play mind games.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
Thanks jnrmac - I did go through the rule book and found 18.11.2.d and that does appear a very unreasonable rule, particularly if the ball up was closer to goal, though then reading 8.2.4.c I guess the ball up would rarely be closer to goal unless I guess there is an unresolved scrimmage near the behind post. All a bit confusing as I am sure I have seen ball ups within a few meters of goal near the behind line. However it does seem that they did ball it up in the correct position, which is crazy. It was actually on the behind line, so th umpire was technically correct. A very unfair rule though.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
I wonder if Petty's "quiet game" in VFL combined with BBB's good game makes selection easier this week. Even if BBB has a "just reasonable" game this week and Petty shows decent form then BBB gets a rest and Petty goes to Adelaide. Is that a new rule? The ball was in the outer ⅓ of the behind space, yet it was balled up in the midline? Did the umpire not call high contact on McDonald because he thought it out of play, or because he doesn't know the rules? Maybe both.
