Can someone please explain what is a contract?? Someone if their own volition signs for x years at $y - so far I understand. Then the player changes his mind and wants out - why should the original club be liable for 0.01 cents of his salary elsewhere? Hasn’t he breached his contract unilaterally? Sure, if we want him out becoming the party that breached the contract, then we need to make a deal that satisfies him. How does it all actually work out?
