praha - well stated. But actually we know bugger all at this stage. and MUST get the absolute most out of it Fact, or speculation?
-
How about Less Marvel? Agree with time slot. Friday night in Perth would give whomever won more time to get to Melbourne ..... Saturday arvo, or night, would still give that winner a full week, in their how town. Poor planning by AFL HQ ... but who is surprised about that after all?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
monoccular replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Read Ox's thoughts - May = fat, lazy, poor work ethic I have also heard this from other 'insiders'. What has happened to our NO DH policy? -
A couple of questions, just for consideration. 1/ Do we know the exact nature of Jesse's foot issue? Has he / will he recover fully? Could he be thinking along the lines of "is this a Mitch Clark type situation (regarding the injury, not the personal character) ... Dees have been great for me, maybe I should get out and get them something whilst I can, as well as getting a nice fat contract from Freo even if it turns out to be only short term?" 2/ Do we know that "the incident" hasn't mentally scarred Gaff and will he be as good as he was before?
-
Nevertheless, looking longer term, it is important to get him right. But as I understand the Latarjet is a lesser procedure than a full shoulder record ... is that correct? I guess in fairness trapeze artists shoulder stability is quite literally a matter of life and death.
-
I may have mentioned it elsewhere but i seem to recall hearing that May is an arrogant lazy bugger - would he fit if that were the case?
-
I hope Gaff isn't mentally damaged by his recent misdeeds. Maybe his recent victim would be a better target for us, and a family reunion.
-
IF Jesse is determined to go west (but why would a KPF want to play under Lyon's game plan FFS?) then we must demand two high picks PLUS Andrew Brayshaw who could also legitimately claim homesickness.

Five go - Pedersen, Bugg, McKenna & 2 big men in King & Flipper

Hopefully delisting all three established (CP) and potential developing rucks means that Preuss is a done deal. -
Cam never left anything behind in terms of endeavour (a good example to others) and gave us good solid service. Thanks and good luck in the future.
-
He made an AFL list and played a few games, which is more that most of us here can boast. Sorry that he didn't make the grade with us. "He is gone, But he was here...." (Apologies to Willie Nelson)
-
I don't know that (many) people are wanting to delist Jones (certainly Junior McD was handled badly) but there can be no guarantee that he will be 'best 22' all 2019, so would it be best if he were relieved of the captaincy? Hard to drop a captain, and playing one just because he is captain doesn't work, does it Casey?

FMD, FMY, FML :-(((

1/ Fritsch is a "genuine winger" - pace, takes a mark, good disposal, awareness. Fritsch, Stretch Agree re Fritsch and Stretch ...... Hunt needs to have. good hard think about where he is and where he wants to be. Running like a gazelle than blasting away blindly isn't his job: Frost does that already and we can't have two of them. TGR ... technically we can't sell the farm if we have already sold it :-) But point taken, though we do need a genuine ruck. I suspect that Weed has the body (developing) and the mindset to get that job done, though the guy from Norf (name escapes me at the moment) certainly worthy of a look.

Anyone in particular? I have heard on the grapevine that May can be a bit of a lazy bugger.

Draftees from outside the AFL system

So bloody typical of Gillon and his henchmen making decisions on the run. What a f'n disgrace are the current AFL leadership. -
Post Match Discussion - Preliminary Final

Pennant - a well considered summation of how the day unfolded, especially re hitting the wall physically and emotionally (probably more so emotionally than physically IMVHO). It was a great ride into the finals, and the first two weeks. Thanks to all involved. Forward and upwards for 2019. -

And who didn't? Are you on the Indian Pacific? Surely no Eagles fans live in suburban Melbourne !! Good points .... can't blame the youngsters NB Spargo, Weideman, Hannan -- leadership under pressure was absent, and Lewis' early behaviour was anything but leadership. Should be ashamed of himself. IF that is true surely it is tantamount to match fixing. Will the AFL investigate? NO. Still. our guys had a prematch on the same ground as the Weagles, so someone should have picked up that it was slippery. Certainly IF it is used as a learning experience we will emerge all the stronger from it: let's not wallow in self pity. It was a shocking game but it is now in the past so time to move on. -
No doubt given that we deserve prime time games we will get to be away team v Carlton, Saint and EssenDung. That will enable a Gillon to stand up and say we are being treated equitably.
-
✖️ A natural winger needs good disposal and marking ability
-
All that artificial crap, add the EssenDung air raid siren, is just further Americanisation of our game. If you want that synthesised nonsense, go to the basketball. Or 20/20 cricket, or the ridiculous preseason game with the sparklers and rectangular field (can’t even remember what it was called. - JLT or maybe IDC)
-
I was going to go for Colonwood, until I saw that obscene shot of Eddie and Gillon embracing at the end of the PF. And the lingering sound of Gillon saying that we need Colonwood to succeed. F them both, even if it means WCE taking the cup. Collusion and corruption has infiltrated all aspects of our society from politics to sport.
-
Agree 100% re Frisch as a wingman. It is a pity that injuries (and Hunt’s inability to get back to anywhere near his best as a HBF) forced him to go back to an unaccustomed rôle then dropped for the PF due to match ups. I hope he can get a full preseason working on the wing HFF rôle and not be forced to fill in where, though he performed admirably, he could not be of best value to the team
-
Hunt will need to lift and reinvent himself. I was a big fan ...... hopefully 2018 has been marred by injury from which he will recover.

What a sad final week of an otherwise good season. How Melbournian
