As long as equality means equality of opportunity, and is not demanding equality of outcome, then that is fine. I haven’t been going much recently, for various reasons, but the meaningless din and inability to chat with others has ruined the “match day experience” forme and many other I have spoken with, when able. Clearly Gil, and DumbItriou before him, have been influenced by the American sports, which in the case of gridiron is so stop start that it needs something to fill the gaps. They also presumably watch from glass boxes most of the time. The Essendon air raid siren was, in retrospect, just a minor annoyance especially when compared to the bloody intrusive betting ads, which pervade all aspects of our lives.
