  1. The betting agencies of course will be in seventh heaven. One more opportunity to exploit problem gamblers (of course, gamble responsibly)!
  2. For one thing the Glenferrie "Oval" is just tiny and can never be enlarged, so cannot be a serious training ground. As I recall when Kennedy broke their premiership drought they did match simulations at Scotch College (or maybe Xavier) which were far nearer in size and shape to the MCG.
  3. Frankly I have no idea - has anyone who has followed Turner regularly at Casey an informed opinion?
  4. Kicking 50+ goals without regular big bodied support was a remarkable achievement, and frightening for oppositions when / if we get TMc, JVR, ?HP to support him and take a big defender. PS or even BBB back able to run and get his feet off the ground.
  5. Sounds like a great move to me, though no doubt some naysayers will point out that he hasn’t played a game.
  6. I guess one could ask is Goody et al more likely to motivate a wavered than Bevo et al ?
  7. Just a question - can someone be drafted then put immediately on the long term injury list?
  8. All this talk of frogs and legs reminds me of this.
  9. So to those who have seen or follow Noah - does he look like a potential KPF, flanker, big mid??
  10. And what is his size etc? Is he a potential KPF or a flanker?
  11. Certainly looks an amazing talent, in this company. Nothing remotely approaching AFL pressure but one can only work with what one has. I would hope our guys and development team would have a good look at him and make their call.
  12. Sure but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be looking for another developing “junior burger”, as you put it, in the draft.
  13. True. To me he looks versatile, strong and smart enough to play defence (maybe even the much vaunted lock down), wing, half forward or midfield.
  14. Poor bugger never had a chance to get out of first gear due to his injuries. In retrospect (at least) he should have been rested as should several others.
  15. If Clarry could somehow learn how to make the maggots love him instead of hate him (or even be neutral towards him) he would be a runaway Downlow winner. I presume you mean Blake Howes and not Jeremy making a return 🤯
  16. I suspect that the majority here would hope that JVR storms into the game like David Schwartz did. Of those who have already played I expect JJ will make a big jump and join the premium (and hopefully premiership) midfield on a regular basis.
  17. But does he have “a basketball background” ? 🙄
  18. … an instruction that may change if our forward delivery tactics change to a more targeted (rather than long bomb) approach.
  19. Presumably Chandler will be one vying for CS’s position: Charlie’s biggest attributes are his calm decision making and his smart delivery, which seem to be way ahead of Chandler, but either / both need to get a lot more regularly involved.
  20. Has there been any news on whether Rattan has found any footy employment for 2023? Do we have any assistant midfield coaching vacancies (or restructuring)?
  21. I know that many in AFLHQ want to mimic American Gridiron, which I find unwatchable due to the lack of flow with stopping far more than starting, so this could be just one step towards having a full “oh-fensive” and another “dee-fensive” roster that they change after every play. (Just joking but just a warning). Why extend the bench at all? Cut it to what it once was, 2 non rotatable reserves and get on with the game (ok, maybe rotation s for blood rule).
  22. Maybe the change of scene, and the kick in the butt of being dropped will enable / push him to reach his true potential. Don’t know that he needs to be written off completely at this stage.
  23. Better an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right.
  24. …. and the icing on the cake in the first minute Q4 a beautifully thought out and weighted pass to BBB when he could easily be excused for having a ping.
