I guess one may get away with one or two slightly underdone stars in a final, but 6 is a hiding to nothing. In retrospect, as many have already said and easy to say, "resting / managing" some of these "niggles" to our stars mid season may have not only won us a few more games, but also given exposure and assessment at top level to those on the margins (eg JVR, who may have needed to step in and step up in the finals.

If Gil is trying to alienate fans than by all means blare music, have loud PA trivia during breaks and promote betting advertising, and political and pseudo political causes …. and of course an odd number of teams in the competition would be the final nail in the coffin. Congratulations Benny. The intrusiveness of the Sportsbet advertisements with that bogan voice and obese bodies is a genuine turn off, as is Nathan Brown updating the odds (then adding "gamble responsibly" 😀). If listening to radio I often change stations when I hear that voice, even when not listening to sport.

I hope what they really mean is that we can get by without him especially for a game or two early in the year - Rivers, Sparrow in particular will be keen to step up - but he is an absolute essential at the business end of the season NB finals.
