  1. The game where he earnt his place on the demonland banner thank god, I was worried he'd be jinxed
  2. Strange days indeed, I agree.
  3. must admit to browsing the bombers forum, it's very small of me to take pleasure in the misfortune of others but after everything MFC has been through... Worse yet, more often than not we are pitied by bombers fans, I'd rather be hated, they just don't see us as competition.
  4. Mods, this is not meant as an offensive expletive but a humerous one... BULLSHITE don't believe you but very funny. I too cannot believe how much of a bell-weather Melbourne winning or losing can be to my mood. Born to the club, love the tradition, still believe in the future.
  5. The last thing we want is a Jeff curse to go with the Norm curse
  6. Great post, back this 100%
  7. Your always going to lose when you run someone down in front of a group, I'm sure Buckley's consultants went face palm when he rubbished Harry. Harry may well be a [censored], but pushed into a corner or feeling like it does tend to make people fire up. You never fix someone's attitude by drilling them in front of others. As for work places and conduct, the person who solves this dilemma will make more money than Bill Gates, HR is nightmare for any organization with more than 5 young men working together, sad to say blokes mature at vastly different rates.
  8. To me the Barry Manilow would be a gun to the head, but Adam like that your radar is on and your not afraid to speak up in a mature way. On the light hearted note, I am amazed at how often father son selections seem to come good, I too hope that Hogan and other get some Barry White tunes happening.
  9. Watched the CATSvHAWKS, they had some shockers as well, if Geelong had not come up they would have every right to scream blue murder, still the umpiring against us seemed malicious.
  10. If we continue to show this sort of improvement under Craig then the job is his if he wants it, wouldn't change for eade or Williams, maybe Roos but anyone who gets our guys going has my vote and would be cautious of more wholesale change. I truly think Neeld's run was without luck but this change is working.
  11. Have I mentioned heart at all today? We have it, I liked today's game better than last week's win, we were playing the best midfield going around, it should have been a 10 goal loss with all the swannie misses but at the same time the umps cruelled us far too many times. Terlich is going to be mentioned in the same breath as Pods from the cats. I'd trade Dawes before Fitzy and I love Dawes. Clisby, well it was a clanger, but his value has been obvious and worth keeping. Watts was ripped off, that was not travel, and I want him to try that magic stuff, looks like he was trying to one up Rodan from last week. Gawn was huge as a relief on the wing taking those marks, but the dude has to fix his disposal, he will end up being another Miller where the opposition will know how to shut him down despite the marks. That said we retained possession a few times under big pressure because we could hit up maxy. McDonald Did some good body work on Tippett and has good speed for a large guy as well, he will improve his turnovers do hurt though. Davey and Silvia both look like they are enjoying the game. Many more positives, but in a game that we could have easily been torched, because that 1st quarter was high pressure we stood tall we showed HEART. edit got mc donalds name wrong
  12. Fitzy apart from Hogan is the only fwd we have who is not carrying an injury, why would we trade him? Beautiful lead, and his kicking is improving with confidence. Do not sell. Tippett is an example of why Frawley is gold dust and must be retained.
  13. Watching the game, loving the body work, those swans will have a few bruises, terlich all heart, watts getting to the contests, Frawley looking committed, some great defensive efforts, jones having his usual dip, I can watch when I feel like we're trying. Umpires just plain rude. Toumpas is learning, give the kid a break was a shocking kick but back him in he started finding the ball. Fitzpatrick is showing heart and the umpire has no soul not giving him a HTB for that chase
  14. You need tears from someone else being a Melbourne supporter? I would have thought ours most bitter
  15. I normally ignore your ignorant crap, but this really got under my skin, our media people have been doing a damn fine job with little to work with.
  16. I never want another priority pick ever
  17. Too soon for Viney, I hope like hell that he ends up deserving front and centre, graphically a good banner, like the work, Frawley for sure.
  18. I've met Leigh a few times, and you respect the hardness of the guy, but he does have an expiry date attached, I wouldn't like another Barrassi situation. And there were some conferencing stories about why he left collingwood when he did. Personally I think Neeld has the same 'tough love' approach, not sure we'd see significant difference, except he'd be given a fraction more time by the media, and remember when he got to Brisbane they had really benefitted from Fitzroy's best players. Every week I'm seeing less bruise free football from our team, this is an improvement I'm happy with, decision making and footy use is the biggest box to tick now, and I think Craig will get us there. One strong upside to LM though would be the FD would toe the line, I think we'd only have one chef.
  19. Idiots, Dicker did all the hard yards at Hawthorn, and you have a number of premiership players from the 80's all in key roles at the club perpetuating a culture that Allan Jeans entrenched, Kennet adds nothing and is NOT Melbourne, morons here giving this the time of day cannot see that he is just further stirring the pot at a club he hates.
  20. They can all go and get stuffed, no handouts, no AFL interference.
  21. I'm willing to bet $50 this story about Roos is garbage, the last I remembered we were still a solvent endeavour not owned by the league.
  22. It's funny that you have as your pseudonym IW-S, I can tell you as a fact that IW-S was an ordinary coach in complete contrast to his playing days because he was too soft on the players. This is compared to the days as a player when he belted one of his own team for not getting up off the deck quick enough after he was hit. As a coach he was too gentle and didn't deliver the tough message, the only time in his life I think that he didn't tell it like it is. This is Mick Malthouses midas touch, he knew when to give the players a cuddle or a rocket for motivation. He was much better as a chairman of selectors when he could use his brain to make the tough call on who to start and who to play in the twos (in fierce discussion with Smith and others). The football club is not a business, it's some sort of barmy hybrid, we are where the coach said we would be, it is clear why, we have a very weak midfield, it needs time - the budget/staff morale issue as you put it has not had the case conclusively made. We needed the change to the style, if we lose two more players its not the end of the world. Anyway it is clear we have yea and nay pretty firmly entrenched, we'll see. As for the zone, when it works it creates huge pressure, and on the turn over you have lots of players free for a rebound offensive effort. That said it takes truckload of fitness and it maybe a tactic that should be turned on and off so the team has some legs left for the end of the day, a zone executed poorly welllll yes you do lose by a bit. I've played against and for a zone and I know it takes serious match practise to get right. Whether it will work for us I don't know but I'm not going to hang Neeld for trying something.
  23. Frawley did some good things so far, look like he's bought in, the kick in still drives me to tears and carlton got some easy goals from that after huge defensive efforts by the guys.
  24. I saw Carlton bodies getting knocked over, tackles, and hard work, and a bunch of kids in red 'n blue making skill mistakes. I'm bloody happy about the hard work, the skills will come, if they play the rest of the game like the 2nd qtr, I don't care about the score as much. You wanted to see players improve, I'm seeing that, we have some brave players.
  25. I really hope you are joking
