  1. I signed. I find it hard to split Kochie and Eddie though, more interested in perpetuating generational hate with Collingwood, as I have noticed some personal back sliding (an admiration for Buckley and Grundy/Pendlebury (he played basketball you know?)).
  2. I thought the same. I think we look good in match ups, surprisingly so. Anthony William Watson McDonald-Tipungwuti - Is he playing, he's the only bloke on Essendons' list who I think can torch us. Last I heard he is injured?
  3. AVB not the right horse for a wet track. Goody does have some insights about Essendon, he should be able to work out who from Hibberd/Melksham/Brown might have a bit of extra spark from the prospect of playing their former club. But I would prefer Melksham and Hibberd out of the team. With it being wet I think ANB's run is critical, he stays. Jones, my beloved, his time is not up, but needs a rest a'la Ablett, he is NQR and he deserves a go on the ball in a scratch match to find his mojo. I think Tmac is close, one more game before being dropped, I like his work off the ball. Brayshaw, one more game before getting itchy and ..... Picket and Jackson in/stay. SO out: Melksham, Jones In: Kossie, Lockhart. Smith forward, Tmac back.
  4. Adelaide = AAA farm team
  5. Hmmmmm, let me think about that..... NO Very tongue in cheek, and a comment on the forum not the poster!
  6. Not enough of a sample size for 2020 yet - Before you all stick the boots in, he copped a big hit yesterday from McKay arriving late at a pack, initially I thought he was playing for a free, but I reckon he was out of it after half time.
  7. Brayshaw copped a late hit from McKay, was surprised it wasn't a free, near end of 2nd I think. I don't think he was right after that.
  8. So basically we are an Italian motorcycle looking for a German mechanic? On a serious note, no finals this year and I would seriously assess who is available as head coach, and not be troubled if the club said no thanks to Goodwhen.
  9. Are people just jumping on a band wagon out of frustration, or is there some sort of covert campaign on his behalf? I see more people name checking him in various posts and am curious. I know nothing of Yze as a coach, it seems a pretty big call based on not alot of evidence. That Yze was a top flight player is not in doubt, although I remember him going missing more than once as a player. I look at Richmond and Collingwood who stuck fat with their coaches when everyone was losing, I'm not ready to bin Goodwhen yet and think it would be a backwards step, we're not losing players, I like our recruiting and our style was forced to change alot with 6/6/6. Yes I would like to see the magnets move a bit more. I actually thought the team changes for this round were fair considering those tossed were all guilty of bombing it. So anyway can one of his boosters please explain why Yze is some sort of messiah, or it Bruce or maybe Robertson?
  10. 6, Gawn 5, Tracc 4, Oliver 3, Hunt 2, ANB 1, Rivers
  11. Loved all the shoutouts he gave, his Mum, Ross, his agent, beyond I reckon what he would be taught to do, sounds like honest appreciation, suggests he is a quality bloke beyond being a brilliant footballer. Also just by the by but Ross always had wraps for HB as a bloke and a footy player. If HB had been able to get up sooner I reckon he'd still be coaching.
  12. This thread could have many better titles, the Waleed Ali thread for instance, whats that loud ticking sound I hear??? Like the crocodile in Peter Pan... Why it's the mods about to shut it down, I can feel the fingers quivering.
  13. Maybe, but Demonstone is a Border Collie to your Pekingese.
  14. Zoom, FB, whatsapp, vizeo, not fussed, send a PM if you are keen. So far participants are passionate optimists, whoever wants that particular type of tea.
  15. Underwear minimum! It will be early here in Djibouti, have already made clear to my French family that the big tv is mine for the morning, no japanese anime cartoons etc.
  16. So just an idea, not particularly novel but thought I'd mention it anyway I'm watching with a mate in Switzerland and thought what would it look like with a larger crew and i could see reactions from other supporters. I am more than a little cautious about possible meltdowns considering how much we love each other generally, but am semi inclined to give it a go. Any interest?
  17. Tears of joy here, clapping, and cheering and feeling amazing, this is a fair dinkum movie script. I hate to go early but we will SMASH Carlton, our man HB with 4 goals. So proud of my club, very very proud.
  18. Am more than happy about Bennell but Rivers and Jackson, so soon? Really want to see a team list I'm feeling like it's a praccy match and not a 4 pt game.
  19. Do you mean Jetta in 12 months time? I'm pretty sure over the last 5 years Betts average against Jetta is .3 of a goal a game.
  20. If he plays you can expect ratings to peak early, reckon there will be alot of interest, I think it has been said before but this is 'The Natural' all over again. Am so so excited, MFC should be proud of the staff for getting him on the field. The thing is if he stays fit he will be top ten in the bluey, his skills are sublime and his delivery will allow others to play to their strengths.
  21. Love Nev, looking forward to seeing him in all his majesty. 150 Nevs in the stand, great idea.
  22. I would (reluctantly) agree with you, if: A, I didn't think he has four solid years of football left. B, Firmly believe we will be contesting for a premiership in the next four. C, Think he will help us get that tin mug. 2m Peter would have to be plugger or dermie for me to want to make that trade. But we are not a team looking to rebuild, we are a supercar warming up the tires. Annoying cliche to finish, 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence'.
  23. By era: Warne-Smith- bias here, but until the 80's he was in all the top ten lists, 50 years after he played, Bunton, Coventry etc described him as their best opponent. Hard as nails and then there is his time as Chairman of Selectors working with Smith in the 50's Barassi-Our Michael Voss but better. Obviously there is unanimous consent on this so i won't bore further... Flower- Supremely skilled, lay down flush. Again consent on RF. Stynes- Lion heart, what an amazing human. He could've the bloke from 'unbroken', just never gives up... Smith and Hughes would obviously get gigs as coaches, I went players only. Stiff: Many; Neitz, Adams, Allan La Fontaine - Captain of a hat trick of premierships ffs.
  24. Utter madness, (and not the ska music kind) Tmac is a machine with his cardio fitness and size. He also prospered under every coach, is not a sook, and had one tough season for injury. Hardest player to replace.
