  1. Hawkins is deliberately clumsy, his arm went against the inertia of the tackle.
  2. I am so happy with our 2021 game plan, our game plan has clearly adjusted, instead of just winning the contested game, (2018 was not sustainable - as I said at the time) smashing ourselves into pieces in the process, (as seen by injuries at the end of that season), our defence is now strong enough to allow us to take on some higher risk footy. We haven’t gone soft, we are still fierce but the mix between inside and outside footy is soooooo much better. If 2021 keeps up and we play finals, we should be getting tattoos of the recruiters’ names. I’d ask fellow supporters to see that getting the players into a head space where they are willing to play with creative flare in attack, with some risk of a turnover, requires a lot of trust and faith in the players. Well done to the coaches for not dropping their bundles. It is so much easier to play a more conservative game, playing not to lose rather than playing to win, but I really like playing to win, and the clangers that are there I can live with, because our defence is a thing of beauty. No other team has looked as fit as us, and just by the by, GWS injuries came in play running with us, we were fitter than they were. Now to be clear, the lid is not off for me, we still have to play Port, Doggies, Sydney and Richmond, win two of those four and the lid is off, win three and it is in orbit, and I am booking a ticket to Australia and stuff the quarantine. I am going on record as saying when BB is back, well then #BOOMSHAKALAKA is coming, we are going to get off the leash, and we will kick the highest score of the season. I feel like watching the Dees at the moment is the same as being at the surf beach, there are a lot of sloppy waves threatening but not quite delivering, but you just know that a really big wave is about to roll through and clean everything out and everyone up. And yes before you say it, I know there is WCE in Perth, but personally I think Gawn will do enough to quell Nicnat, and don’t rate them as an ‘win anywhere’ side. Some other comments on players: Tomlinson - Today was his best game, last week was good this was better, I thought last week it was easy for him to look good when May and Lever were on fire, today everyone was under real pressure and he was consistent and calm and where he needed to be. I had him as a bust, eating my words. Nev - I saw Greene beat him on one occasion and yes he looked slow, but then in general play he put his body on the line in the middle of three GWS players and prevented a GWS rebound where they would have been away for a sure goal. I am not putting a line through him yet. Tmac – A bad game for him compared to the last two (my mate was spewing he had an 8 leg multi and the only thing he missed on was Tmac for a goal), but no way would I drop him on one bad game, with two goods ones in the bank. People way too quick to pull the trigger on him, he is obviously moving so much better, he is not the player from last year. He brings more than Mitch. ANB – Best season so far, twice he tapped the ball on rather than take possession when he would have had no chance. Showing improved awareness with his frankly mind boggling running. Also noticed he is trusted more and linked play several times. Hunt – timing has improved, back to pre-concussion game standards, He is not Bachar yet, but working into a much better standard. Really happy for him, I thought he was Langdon – yes everyone is super happy for a reason, just awesome recruiting. Salem – Best start to a season, he is silk, I take him for granted too often, but he is an integral part of our beautiful defence. Trac / Oliver were human today, didn’t help the Giants, Viney was able to do what was needed instead (in a very low key but solid way). Our mids have evolved and working much better as a unit, we also am sorry to say look better without Harmes ATM. Jackson – thanks to the poster for the GPS data, did you see this kids’ km? He is going to be so huge in so many ways, still cannot believe his ability below his knees. JJ, Sparrow, Spargo, Rivers – all did what is required, keeping a lot of people out of the team. All showing serious commitment – well done coaches. Jones going OK deserves his spot was sorry he didn’t snag a goal, he did a lot of team things on the day. May, is a lock for AA. Lever does a few booboos but he also does far more right, I guess the haters have to have someone to aim slings and arrows at.
  3. I watched this for like 5 minutes... Chariots of Fire stuff
  4. We left 50pt on the table, but seriously no one was bad, occasional errors by a very disciplined and well drilled team. ANB and lesser lights did many good things.
  5. No clue, Giants played well, we were better stronger and fitter.

Fair play to Giants, they didn't give up, this was a win by our back 6 and Kozzie

Kozzie even shares with his mate who doesn't have a stat
  8. No, love him dearly, but Jeff White was a match winner too, Stynes etc, Gawn still has work to do, would be totally happy if I have to change opinion in 5 years.
  9. I dearly love this man, and wanted him as captain for a period, but seriously the wing would be a disaster, his kicking is not up to it. As a forward there was no complication for him, thump it between the big sticks. Personally (again from the man crush) I choose to believe ankle/foot mobility issues were behind his putrid form last year. I also think his bulking up to look like thor didn't work out particularly well, pretty much the same as when James Hard came back from injury looking like a NFL wide receiver. Now that these follies and injuries are attended to, I am hoping for an Indian summer for one of the most dignified guys to pull on our jumper. Just not on the wing.
  10. Listened to the show yesterday while driving around Cyprus of all places, thanks fellas was most appreciated, thought JT was very forthright, would love to sit with him during a game and hear how he sees things, would be quite the education. Was it just me or did he give the impression of being most interested in Taj over White and Farmer?
  11. No offence but this a mighty long bow!
  12. Reminds me of the way Powell fitted in, really made a difference in a few line games, and John Henry style runner (will break his own heart) with his effort.
  13. always thought the same, he was fearless despite being lighter than my dish cloth
  14. Fair summary
  15. My mark against is the way he played in his final season for us, I had always loved him, BUT he mailed it in that final season, and squibbed it on multiple occasions. Was our best FB in my years of supporting the club, hopefully May, sets a better standard. Edit. Compare to the way Dangerfield tore it up at Adelaide, there was a respectable way to leave a club.

I think you are channeling a little too much Ghandi, turn up the volume, and you capture it perfectly. Waves of pleasure at how they are going. I actually want Joe to stay though, clog up a spot and burn their cash
  17. Dr D, just like all the other JW threads this has turned into merde, bump one of them (that are not locked), this thread was about wishing a bloke good luck and farewell, show some class.
  18. Looking forward to the Open Mike, I was amazed he survived the Neeld era. While he enjoys his fun, he always showed levels of class and respect in his dealings with fans that was 1st class. For mine, at the right club, he would have been a mega star, we were not the right club to get the best out of him. Travel well Jack.
  19. My mail is this is not a story about 'booze', lets give it 24 hours before we assemble the bonfire, get some facts, the guy has been getting his running going again, has been a long way off sustaining his high intensity running and you would have to think with a preseason his numbers could be good. All season he did not breakdown or re injure himself. And if this incident does resolve around getting a bigger car and a car seat for a kid, while STUPID, is not the end of the world. Wasn't like he was doing lines with Karmichael Hunt.
  20. I haven't seen any update to this https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/09/02/the-one-issue-the-afl-has-neglected/ Anyone know more?
  21. Empty, so empty, at work and logged on to see Freo a kick away at half time. It is going to take more than a few videos to get me excited about 2021.
  22. I just don't think people are valuing his hardness at the ball and the ferocity he brings, that is worth more. I don't care about his name, or his heritage, it is his attack on the football, and so he is not a superstar with his DE, I can live with because the pressure he brings makes up that difference. And it is far from the worst over the season. I just cannot stand our limp efforts, he might get beaten occasionally but he never gives up.
