As we said yesterday rjay He is 2 months behind everyone else with poor pre season. You cannot do much running / fitness work with a broken foot. Stay with my expectation of June before anything worthwhile.

In spite of all was said rjay he looked to be carrying something. He was struggling to kick 40 metres. Cannot remember which game but he was 30 metres from goal and did make the distance. Something was hampering him last year

As I said earlier RR I think he will be a good half Forward

I don't expect much this year rjay He has had a poor pre season because of injury. That usually means he starts 2 months behind everyone else. At best I don't expect a lot before June

I think he is a seasoned footballer. we have a shortage of those. He could not hold down a regular spot at North. We swapped him for Gysberts So not a lot lost by adding him to our team. From the little I have seen in the NAB he looked average. At best he will add a bit of depth, cannot see him dragging us into the winners circle.

Taggert who knows at this point. Evans I held high hopes for him and he has had a bad run with injuries. But his NAB cup form looked ordinary. This is going early but looks average to me.

The annual away strip thread has started early this year. Lets all get over it. We are not a power club We need to suck up to the AFL They want us in the away strip End of the story. I actually don't mind the current one. If they start winning I don't care if we are in pink with purple polka dots

For way too long we have patted ourselves on the back when we lose to Collingwood by 1 point. We may have as well lost by 5 goals because we did not win. Except nothing but winning anything else does not cut it. And as you say when we do that it will shut up all the smart arse's in the Media

Hallelujah to that wyl I have been banging about this for so long I cannot remember when I started. There is no such think as an honourable loss. It is just a bloody loss. This attitude has kept us down for the better part of 50 years. Do Hawthorn , Geelong, Collingwood, Carlton have honourable losses? Of course not they hate every loss with a vengeance. Until we do we are not going anywhere. Win that is all that counts.

Right now we have one quality mid fielder in Jones. The rest are Half forwards or half backs that are trying to fill in for our lack of Mids. We have recruited a couple of kids who in all fairness will need at least two years Before we can expect matching winning performances from them. We have recruited a couple of veterans to help out over the next couple of years But as some one mentioned earlier we need to recruit a gun. If we can recruit a quality seasoned player next year and the kids come on as well as expected. Then I guess we will have a quality mid field around 2015 -6. Until then we will have to make do with Trengove, Grimes and Sylvia. The rest are average players at best

I agree with most of what you say Bing The problem for most supporters is the MFC is six years into that process. Now you could argue that it only started 1 year ago. Most people see we have spent six years getting to the point we were at in March 2007. They / me would like to see some improvement this year. Port is far from a good team and they will not play finals this year. We should at worse be able to break even with them on Sunday. A bad loss will not look good. IMO we need to win 6 - 7 games in 2013 To show we are not irrelevant again

And thank god Demon17. All this started because I said the MN does not inspire me. Now that does not mean he is not a good coach or that he is not the man for the job. He just does not turn my wheels. Does it matter that he does get me going? Of course not In the end I am just one person with an opinion that makes no difference to how successful the Dees will be under him as coach. God I hope we win on Sunday.
