A fellow Melbourne supporter made an Interesting comment to me yesterday. He said JVR is actually a better 2nd ruckman than he is as a KPF. My friends suggestion was that jvr is actually a Ruckman / forward not a KPF.

Let's hope they pick a few so we can see if they improve the team. What this season has shown is that we are sadly lacking in player quality once we get past the first dozen players.

There is a constant theme here from Binman and a couple of others. Governance! We have spent the most part of the last year without a CEO and a stand in President waiting on an ageing replacement who has been on holidays for 6 months. I don't care what the organisation that does not boad well for achieving a well run organisation. Most things will have been on hold for nearly a year. The new CEO is not expected to be on deck till October. Surprise surprise we have had a terrible year. How many decisions will have to wait till November or later. If this is not a big part of our onfield results I would be amazed.

DubDee. It doesn't worry me how much women want to play football, I don't mind how much they play. What annoys is the amount the AFL is throwing at it. On top they are expanding it too fast the skill pool is stretched way beyond what will give games to watch. we have games with low skill levels that turn into defensive struggles with low scoring. Just develop it at a slower pace then the games might become watchable.

We are a club who has not had a CEO for almost 12 months and a stand in President while we wait for a retired guy to enjoy retirement for 6 months. I am not convince Smith wanted the job but had to be talked into it. The road ahead looks very bleak. Getting beaten on Saturday may not be the worst thing that could happen to us. The worst might actually be to win and maintain the status quo.

After Sunday nothing is impossible after losing the unloseable JNM. How often do we smash teams? In the last few weeks it took us 3 quarters to shake off North who then get pulverized by the Cats. Watching the players after the pies loss, then the first saints loss then Sunday I think they have checked out for 2025. They don't show any signs of frustration just hang dog looks.

Today there was a board meeting at the mfc. I suspect that before yesterday Goodwin and the vast majority of the team were set to continue in 2026. 24 hours can be a long time in the world of football. I believe we will see Goodwin exit at years end and a couple of our big names traded this trade season. We need the introduction of some quality players who don't go missing when it gets hot. You get these players by trading quality. Watch this space in September when cull begins.

Yesterday's team played with way more desire. Swap them at least they will give it 4 quarters of effort.
