RR i think BP saw the writing on the wall and took up the option at a club that was going somewhere in the next few years. Some would say clever thinking.

I am well and truely tired of the high light of each season being the discussion on who we might draft at years end. This year it has start at the end of round three. That must be an all time record.

Mate I think we have all stopped going. It gets difficult to say we look good at training and a certain player is getting bigger and stronger And then have them perform like they have over last half dozen weeks. It all sounds a little hollow.

I think to a large degree most of the posters on here are missing the point. It is not convincing our children or grand children to support the dees. It is about growing the base. If we just convert our decendants into dees supporters we will continue the trend of a poor national following and max member number of approx 30 000. That will see the MFc destined to stay in the bottom 8 for the rest of our days. We have to increase our support with new people to the MFC. IMO only being consistant winners will achieve that. No one likes to support losers it is that simple IMO

I guess you are right there is not much elase to talk about. I have this vision of the Marketing department at the MFc arriving at work each morning. First item on the list find a positive to talk about. After 3 hours search they come up with lets say our 2010 no. 12 pick might play sometime in May! Poor buggers i hope they are well paid it must be a soul destroying job.

Two weeks ago I would have agreed with you but Now i just think they are not good enough, senior,middle level or junior. We have half a dozen good players and the rest are either average or below average. And sadly not one game breaker anywhere

Also "emerging" from what? - lost in the wilderness of injury and little training in the pre season? - emerging from the depression of being selected by the Dees two years ago?

DC you are one up on me. The only thing I have confidence in is that the players are not up to it. Can you please explain how you have confidence that they are better than they are playing. For two years now we have been only able to beat teams in the bottom half dozen and get plastered by the top 8 remember 186. This year we will struggle to win any games they do not look like good players to me

Robbie I doubt anything I say would make any difference because I see the problem as beyond the need for enthusiasm. IMO our playing stocks are poor no matter how hard they try they simply cannot bridge the skill gap. I think that is my biggest problem, I believe they are doing their best. They simply cannot do better. The Rebuild of the last few years has been IMO a diasterous failure. We are ( again IMO ) destined to be a poor team for a number of years into the future I don't know if I want to endure that any longer.

Consider the following We did not set the world on fire without him He is a past Captain He is in his final year It is the Stynes memorial match, he knew big Jim well Brad has given good service to the MFC over a long period It is not as though he is keeping a good junior out of a game He will pay on Saturday because the MFC will not make the same mistake they made with Junior.

Well in a season that has had next to no highlights at least he is not injured.

Not sure there is anything that can be said that will make you feel better D4L I feel the same way, After 48 years most of them poor I cannot remember feeling like we will not win a game this year after 3 rounds. There has been some poor years amongst those years but never like this. The only consulation for is, imagine what it feels like after waiting 48 years. Yes I know it does not matter to you. Perhaps the only way is find something to fill in your weekends in 2012 and then 2013 may be better. Sometimes the only way to releave the pain is to remove the source. Bugger all help really D4L. But you are not alone.
