Now here is an interesting stat for the WCE Best and Fairest last night. Nic Nat finished 10th. Seems the WCE don't value him the same way that the AA selectors do. I would have thought an AA player would score better than 10th in a club B&F! Interesting

Bluey I believe that is true. However I think the main reason is he was told he would not get the Main job when Sheedy left. I believe after the last GWS Game he left the ground without even going into the rooms. Walk from the field to his car and drove away. Me thinks he was more than a little [censored] off!

JT I think JR is exploring the options he is most likely looking at his last contract so he needs the largest salary he can get and able to play in finals if possible. If he cannot get to a good side for better or similar money to the MFc . He will probably take the money and run. If that happens to be Brisbane good for him. They will go close to the eight next year. If he got there with a sizable pay increase he would be far better off the staying at the MFC. The MFc will again struggle in 2013, if it comes down to Port with a sizable salary increase he is still better off and they will still probably finish higher then the MFC.

Why P_Man? To get something you have to give up something. I would prefer to keep Martin however we have a poor list we finished effectively last with one real win. There must be at least 12 - 15 players that are not good enough on our list. We have to change some of these players this year and next year and the year after. So get used to the fact a number of players on our list will leave in the next 3 years. This is only year one.

KB had Swan from Carlton on his show this morning. Swan said it is fiction. Never been discussed by Carlton, no contact from his manager, Watts or the MFC or anyone associated with it.

Port Adelaide's biggest problem is that they are port Adelaide. They have been a very successful club in the SANFL for decades, every non Port supporter hates them and would never support Port. You either love them or hate them in SA. The nett result is their support is capped to traditional Port supporters and a large number of them have not migrated from Port in the SANFL. They do not enjoy the same support in Adelaide that the Crows enjoy. While theoretically Adelaide can support two AFL teams it is really Adelaide Crows 80% and Port 20% ( rough figures ). So unless Port are in the top few sides they struggle to raise the finance levels needed to be successful in the AFL. The task ahead for Port is only a bit more daunting then the one faced by the MFC

The whole free agency thing is driven by the Players Association. The AFL fought for a number of years but they knew one day a player would take them to court and the AFL would lose. Then the whole Salary Cap / drafting system would fall apart. It is the players that are to blame here along with their demands that the min. a club can pay is 95% of the total. This is all about what the Players union see as maximising their salary's The thing they miss is before long a club will fall over and then 40 of them will be unemployed.

The problem for Dawes is that unless Collingwood want the salary space or want himout He is going nowhere. My desire for Dawes is dependant on what he costs, a reasonable deal ( whatever that is ) and I am happy if he joins the dees but lets not pay over the odds

We are about 13% of the way through the trading period and it is already the greatest sop opera in AFL history. Rumours, half truths, lies and made up stories. God what is this going to be like in two weeks time. My head hurts Think I will go lie down now.

Well thanks for the offer H_T However it will be a black day in hell when I wear one of those god awful Blazers. I doubt there are many more loyal than yours truly But I don't see that loyalty means you cannot criticize some thing you see as wrong. You know my reasons for disliking the blazers. I will be there till the end of me or the club. Any how thanks for the thought but don't waste your money then again as RN suggests it could useful for a ceremonial burner at some future point.
