  1. Also RR If you don't acknowledge your mistakes you are bound to repeat them.
  2. I was just thinking the same thing hardtack. Looks like Rivers deal will be done next week to me.
  3. There is some excitement this trade / draft period olisik. But I do tend to agree with you. Proof of the pudding is in the eating, when we start winning games against Vic. teams I will get excited. Right now I have a smile
  4. nutbean I am not sure what this achieves. As MFC members we pay our membership fee, give money to the club for different types of fund raisers and attend games. As a result of this income and other funds the Club employs people to run the club on our behalf. In this case the FD. They are employed to select players and then manage those players. The theory is they have way more skill that the average member to perform their functions. Guess what they live and die by their decisions. Clearly the FD have done a poor job over the last 8 years or we would not be sitting on the bottom of the league. I along with the majority of other supporters do not have the knowledge to make decisions on who we recruit. We leave that to the "experts" However we do get to judge their results, call it hindsight if you wish. But that is the way of the world. Would you have us say " no problem DB and PB a large number of your selections stink and we are at the bottom after 4 years carry on we are happy"? I doubt it.
  5. Glad to see you are back RR. All sorts of theories have been around for your absence.
  6. Are you serious MO GD would not know a tram was up him till the Connie rang the bell. I am confident the FD knows what is needed and is going for it. I think we are over the Youth and nothing else policy of Bailey and company. We need improvement in 2013 it is now or the MFC will slip into oblivion.
  7. IMO the 3 week trade period is a trade off ( no Pun intended ) to the Players union. It is an attempt to ward off total Free agency. Oh and we are 120 not out Who said it was time for this thread to be shut!!!!!
  8. Yes it is Redleg but when you consider that we have finished close to the bottom for the 6 years and the results of this year are taken into account The only conclusion is we have a very poor list so big changes are needed. I think we have approx. 10 players who are of a standard that would allow us to rise up the ladder. I must admit I thought 8 would be the max. number of changes this year.
  9. I am not Redleg I think it is showing his worth in 2012. I suspect there maybe a chance if he is simply delisted by the Dees and someone takes a chance for no outlay Or perhaps via the draft. Something may pop up at the end of the trade period but I doubt it. If you cannot get a game as a forward at the MFC in 2012 you must be in very poor form.
  10. It is definitely our culture dc. I blame our lack of it.
  11. Good reply ignition. We all make errors it is not always easy to admit them. Hang in there.
  12. Sorry to disagree P_Man But I reckon when the players picked at 13, 14 and 15 have all played double digit games and our number 12 pick struggles to hold his place in the Casey seniors Let alone score a MFc game when had a long list of injuries and no forwards to the point we were playing Rivers Forward Then we have an epic fail on our hands, no amount of selections after that makes up for it. DB and BP took a big gamble and it failed in the largest possible way. I am not having a go at you but I get very tired of the excuse 17 other teams passed on JD. I think the more appropriate thing is 11 other clubs thought Cook was not a round 1 selection
  13. yes RobbieF But you know I rcekon it is all the fault of of our poor culture and lack of development. If we just keep him another year or two he might make it back to the Casey firsts and perhaps a MFC game in 2014.
  14. So there are 17 others who think he is ordinary. A rookie spot might be his only chance.
  15. You he would have been half right EB would have toweled him up
  16. I was wondering when he would appear. I was determined it would not be me who raised the name of JD. Thanks for letting me off the hook olisik
  17. You are correct olisik. However I think there is more than smoke in this one. I am finding it hard to be concerned now Just sits in my mind as the perfect example of the missed opportunities that happened as part of the Bailey and BP era. we mostly blew 4 years away for very little.
  18. 100% agreement from me My TD I hate them with a vengeance. The only thing that the Tippet episode does to me is put a smile on my face.
  19. Don't hold your breath on either idea Bbb
  20. I agree jnrmac When the injury happened in 2011 I thought 2012 would be a write off. However he made it back and played OK for a guy coming back from that injury Sure shows he has the desire. Have my fingers crossed for 2013.
