  1. Amateurs versus incompetents.
  2. Viney has upside but not as a leader. Jones needs to retire pronto.
  3. Goodwin just basically played Jones anywhere where he could hide him for the majority of the season. He was a liability at both ends and in the middle. His season was sub VFL standard throughout. The only positives were some cheap goals he got on the end of a few times.
  4. Only Heppel and Selwood out of that bunch would be considered playing as potential true vote attracting mid fielders. The others are key forwards and defenders who never traditionally do well in Brownlows. Witts could have gotten more but he plays for the Suns. Still Heppel and Selwood have more votes each than both our two so called leaders combined. I believe the metric is valid. Viney and Jones are complete non entities and irrelevant in the umpires eyes.
  5. Amazing despite our mediocrity and lack of recognised leadership that posters here still defend completely dud captains.
  6. Viney - 21 games for 2 votes Jones - 22 games for 0 votes.
  7. As I said before. We got real close to getting Fyfe. We got his next door neighbour Cale Morton.
  8. A real captains performance.
  9. Considering that Fitzroy haven’t been in the comp since 1998 we are in reality stone motherless last. Add Brisbane’s votes to their tally it will be no contest for last.
  10. One of the turd polishers?
  11. Could Benny Hinn help us exorcise our demons? Praise the Lord!
  12. He may be dead right but in our case the horse bolted five decades ago. Sadly we are the club he warns about and thoroughly entrenched in mediocrity.
  13. And Joel Hamling from Bulldogs to Fremantle.
  14. What about Chris Fagan? Not a premiership coach yet but has lifted a team dead in the water to a genuine threat in the near future in only his third season.
  15. After next week it could be GWS replacing the Swans with 1.1 million fans.
  16. Journeyman footballer who will fit nicely into our style of play.
  17. Very poor ruck work by Grundy in the last couple of minutes. Just tapping the ball back into the congested stoppage time after time. Should have tried to knock it into the clear.
  18. How come GWS don’t go flat and tired at a hostile away venue in the prelim after two tough finals like us?
  19. Time to take your lithium.
  20. Completely forgot about that one. My memory is a blank.
  21. Problem is no one at MFC understands this...
  22. It’s stressful because it’s like riding up in a hot air balloon knowing that it’s going to deflate and come plunging down to earth.
  23. I did know a keen MFC fan who recently passed away. Born in 65 and has two adult children. Lived his whole life without experiencing success. His kids don’t follow MFC.
  24. Well it might force the club to actually perform to make some money. It’s getting to the stage after 55 years where sink or swim is the only palatable option.
