  1. Yeah, Goodwin is right that we deserve to be where we are at end of round 23. And the only reasons are because we are still soft and chokers
  2. The burning unknown for the next eight months will be if this will spur us on and rectify the problem or will we go the other way? Given the clubs DNA it's looks very uncertain as while the club has improved in many areas the mental aspects are as bad as they ever were.
  3. Every half decent side expects a couple of upset losses a season. A sliver of percentage kept us out of the eight and if we won half of the upset losses and finished off our wins we could have been top four. I watched all of these games live or on TV and we made North, Freo, Hawks, Collingwood, GC and Brisbane look like top four sides for most or part of those games. Even though we got very close in the final quarter of all of those losses there was a feeling it was like climbing Everest without oxygen to overcome one or a couple of goals. The same as in 2016. Their is some serious headspace issues to overcome at the club that is killing our progress.
  4. Yikes! And in 1934 Richmond our ninth alter ego won the flag. There's a tip. I think we may be cherry ripe for 2035
  5. A couple of our players spotted rocking up to a well known pub
  6. If it happened at another club the vituperation would have been worse and not taken a decade to explode. Supporters here have been soft for decades. Most supporters are not fooled anymore. Half knew what was coming before the game and the other half about 5 minutes into the first quarter.
  7. In the third quarter I think WC got 3 goals in a row from frees. A couple were there but the same or worse infringements were not being paid at the other end to Adelaide. I believe the disparity with home ground advantage with is becoming worse all the time.
  8. But we were still alive in the finals then and now not. There is plenty to say.
  9. Oliver is still a kid. No where near his peak and has areas to work on though he is already doing amazing things. He could be the greatest ever and will one day rival Greg Williams.
  10. Right nobody dies but robust complaints are warranted when s**t sandwiches are served up on a regular basis when we are promised prime steak.
  11. Yes poor discipline has been a factor in unsettling the side all year and that also includes the social media arrogance of some. What is most galling though is we were given the same bitter lesson by lower ranked clubs with their own issues 5 times and failed to learn each time. To that can be added the Brisbane game which in hindsight effectively became a loss due to missing the opportunity to bury them and gain percentage given the closeness of our rivals.
  12. Stepping down as captain more likely.
  13. Too many five day breaks means we will play too many Friday night games for the AFL's comfort. Bad for ratings to get thrashed on that night. Channel 7 will have a fit.
  14. Clarrie is being punished for his tweets.
  15. Be wary, free cheese is only found in a mouse trap.
  16. I have mine direct debited automatically which is lucky for the club because the inertia this club gives me leaves me without energy to go through the motions of rejoining or cancelling.
  17. What do fans expect for next season? Now that we have bombed spectacularly at the last hurdle will we get a better draw or more of the same like games at Darwin, Alice, Hobart, Canberra and home games at Etihad? And of course premium time slots. I think more of the same despite PJ's plea. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-08-26/more-prime-time-matches-for-melbourne
  18. The club still waiting on other results to come through. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-08-26/melbourne-to-wait-and-see-after-loss
  19. How true, incremental improvement more likely takes sides closer to flag window closing and inevitable decline.
  20. Clarrie unlucky but less likely to develop a fat head over this. Next year he will make it.
  21. How true. The club should be thankful for the resilience of the supporters which is sadly never reciprocated.
  22. KIller instict and hunger in. Arrogance and hubris out. Non negotiable.
  23. I could see darkness after our Brisbane win. I only made one post on our win because I felt so flat. I was very pleased with Hogan's great performance and was relieved we won but deep inside I was very worried we failed to finish them off and built some percentage buffer when we had the chance. This made a win against Collingwood a must do. Essendon and WC knew what they had to do. The arrogance and hubris from the club is worst in the competition.
  24. It was Collingwood supporters. The booing was coming from around their cheer squad area.
  25. Some would then say we over achieved this season and everything is where we should be at if that is the case.
