  1. Jack Watts has left the building and the bananapocalypse is coming. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/bananapocalypse-the-race-to-save-the-worlds-most-popular-fruit/2017/10/06/bf1635ac-7d28-11e7-83c7-5bd5460f0d7e_story.html?utm_term=.42e9d46fbb25
  2. Some Melbourne supporters continue to stalk Jack Watts like Colin Sylvia appears to stalk ex girlfriends. Let him go.
  3. Rather than a player of the week how about a player of the month? Acknowledges consistency and output.
  4. ACCC is finally taking action on this outage http://www.theage.com.au/business/consumer-affairs/telstra-offers-refunds-to-afl-digital-subscribers-after-screen-shrinkage-20171020-gz4s83.html
  5. Won’t get lucky until we solve the mystery of why players pick and choose when to turn up to play as demonstrated in the past two season in particular.
  6. Didn’t realise there was a vote to this thread. I belatedly voted yes now.
  7. The St James Infirmary.
  8. Too right and getting out of town is a logical consequence. From cosmopolitan Melbourne to the [censored] of the world is a strange move no matter the money on offer.
  9. Tallented highly skilled players who don’t work hard are the new dinosaurs of the game. Superstars in years gone past today they the are millstones around clubs heads. Menzel at Geelong is not unlike Watts and had no takers.
  10. I think he is aware of that.
  11. I believe if we had beaten Collingwood in the last round and made finals Jack will still be with us. He played well that game and no doubt was on notice which just highlights all his previous inconsistency tempered with our lack of success. I guess Goodwin looks at this as the line in the sand for overpaid underperforming players. The Bulldogs and Richmond example of flags won with no name blue collar committed players hit a nerve.
  12. So who was screwing who? Did the club screw Jack over or Jack screwed the club by taking big money and then slacking off?
  13. That kind of hamstring injury he had was not the kind one could have and resume with top form straightaway on return. The opposition took advantage of his limited influence when he returned. Hopefully should be back in top form next season.
  14. At the end of all this I’m still darker at our Collingwood capitulation and softcoque losses against bottom sides than losing Watts. Like a hot looking gal who teases but useless in the cot.
  15. I don’t ever recall us being the target of so much acrimonious vituperation over our trade dealings in any past season. I’ll take it as a positive.
  16. One thing that has been consistent since we drafted Jack Watts has been our mediocrity and Jack Watts being Jack Watts. Time to move on in both regards.
  17. Actually Jetta averages over 13 disposals for his career and about 15 for the last two seasons.
  18. Arguably one could say Lever is the best and most advanced of that lot. The true number I pick. Players like Trac and De Goey need more maturity but are on the right trajectory.
  19. Remember what happened with our last photo buff.
  20. He should be more peeved with himself for being on the trade table. He should ask himself the question; “How did it come to this”
  21. 2008 was a great draft. We blew picks 1, 17,19 and 35. Only got value with Jetta at 51.
  22. Seriously, when was the last time a player with his high stature and profile landed at the club? Must have been Jeff White two decades ago.
  23. Given our poor strike rate with first round picks, I think the deal is good assuming Lever lives up to his expected form and influence. “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”. That proverb have never been more apt for our situation.
  24. 3937 post in the Jack Watts thread and he is still here. 3675 posts in the Lever thread and he is still not here. 2482 posts in the trade thread and still no trades.
