And another one bites the dust - Cook
Bitter but optimistic replied to Demon Disciple's topic in Melbourne Demons
The exodus of players is one thing but as the toll mounts who are we going to replace them with? The list of available experienced "name" players is dwindling -eg Boak gone, Cloke not wanted, Tippett going north if anywhere. If we replace all our losses with draft picks or fringe players from other clubs, I fear we are going to sit in the doldrums for many, many years. -
Several clubs interested?
-
Well below your usual wit DC.

What would restore your confidence?
Bitter but optimistic replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
My confidence will only be restored by the only thing that counts - winning games. Therefore I will have no false hopes, confidence or optimism until we kick some serious arse in 2013 -
What the f### makes you think i'm feeling sorry for myself? It's all about the club! I'm sorry for the club that has attracted shite or has had it dumped upon it for any number of reasons over countless years. Yes I get [censored] about paying my 500 plus every year but I also feel pessimistic about the change that is promised every year but never eventuates.

It's marvellous how history repeats itself. We have a shite season, miss the finals and are generally a laughing stock. However, we have draft picks, or a new coach or some other reason for optimism and the pre season (wet) dreams start again.. How many times has this happened? There must be a Phd. waiting for whoever can determine the particular strain of insanity that makes Melbourne supporters line up year after year for yet another f###ing. Happy days my arse!

Arrrrrrrgh! I wish I'd just shut up. Good night all.
-
I actually "got it " too. My point is why muck around with euphemisms?
-
What the hell does that mean? If you have something to say, say it!
-
The problem is everyone laughs at our footy club!

Please refer to post 215.

Or should that read bone disjointing?

Whenever there's an implosion at Essendon I jump onto "Bomberblitz to have a laugh at their pain and infighting. I bet those bastards are enjoying payback now.

I've been a strong supporter of Jurrah on this site. Howver, I not going to join the "well played, sorry to see you go club" . In view of the chance we initially gave him and the continued support through injury and other matters, His behaviour is disgraceful. I now hope he drops of the scene completely.

A celebration suggests you actually have something to celebrate or have achieved something. On that basis, Nathan Jones and a couple of others should grab an esky and find a pnone booth to party in.

3 Years for Jamar and McKenzie - seriously?
Bitter but optimistic replied to Watts Jurrah Dunn?'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Jamar was on a hiding to nothing yesterday. I could see no logic whatsoever in bringing him back from injury to play a meaningless game on the toughest of opponents. Why did we simply not continue with Spencer who may have benefitted from the experience? -
I presume Neeld gets paid 300-400k pa. Anyway you dice it, it is a top echelon salary. It is his job to fix such problems. And sorry, I can't continue the debate as I going out to, of all things, a 21st!
-
I think we are on about 2 ditterent matters. If players are mucking up or not training in the way required then it is coaches responsibility to be aware of this and do something about. It may be that this poor traing is reflective of a poor culture but, again, it is up to the coach to rectify this.
-
Stuie is correct about the nature of the debate. If the information is correct then it is effectively calling Neeld a dunce. The buck , as it were, for all training, stops with Neeld. Unless the initial post can be substantiated above mere hearsay, then it should be ignored.
-
Forget it! I know a couple of guys at NT Thunder. Wona's considered a great guy and a great player at that level BUT he is also considered, shall we say, spasmodic in his approach to training. Not a chance to produce the work required at the top level.

Enjoy the nostalgia PF but for myself I no longer give a flyer about '87. I want some real success real soon!
-
Nothing against you BH but once you quote Mark Robinson all credibility goes down the zoomer.

Is that sort of like saying - " I'm not gay but I've kissed a bloke who is" ?

A drop that is longer than the rope.

2012 All-Australian Team ... Nearest The Pin
Bitter but optimistic replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is there a prize involved RR? If not, could I suggest the right to Veto any poll you suggest for the next 6 months?
