He is on twttier ask him....no wait a minute I will
-
What is he supposed to show? Or are we about to get the Niknat again, who is a one off freak....suggest as somebody else has said, go to youtube look up Cox and Sandilands and have a look at their early games.....Cox nearly killed a spectator at training one day who was standing about 30 metres to the left and behind of the goal when Cox took a shot and nearly took his head off. I also quote Ben McEvoy and Sam Jacobs, a year or so ago they were exactly like Spencer.....time time time...Jake has had a year out of the game

I think that post rests my case, he was in the best 6 at Casey the week before last
-
Well said, Kreuzer is really suffering at the moment he again looks injured, but so much is expected (No 1 pick and all that) but you have to remember the posters on here want/expect/demand an 18yr old skinny kid we have recruited to have half a game at Casey and then come into the AFL side absolutely star, get 40 possessions, kick 10 goals, fill out his application for the job as the new CEO during the half time break and have a girlfriend who makes Pia Miller look average. This thread is pathetic, Jake Spencer has had a full knee recon, he has had four games in the VFL, thrown in at the last minute to play with a midfield group that is in a state of flux itself and missing one of it's most important players, in unseasonable heat (for Melbourne), his tap work was ok and at least he had a crack

This is twaddle, if you go to the forum ask about the future

You can be a real pain Old Dee...do you ever post anything that doesn't involve sh***** on the Club, the players or other posters? if anybody actually listens to what the coaches say, at the beginning of the season before he got injured, Jade Rawlings said in public and in a conversation with me at the Family Day that Nev had improved out of sight over the off season....he was fitter than ever.....spoke to him after the injury and Jade said he was [censored] off he had lost him from the back Although I am biased my MFC jumper has the nr 39 on the back. Nev will still be at the Club next season

Will Martin get his chance back or will they give Cook a go....
satyricon replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
I might give up, can add Martin to the Morton, Bate, Bartram list, if he kicks 10 at the weekend the focus will be on how many he missed..... "time and time again" has to be completely overblown for a player who has played 52 games for the first couple of years in defence, then the ruck and the occasional forward foray......... -
Will Martin get his chance back or will they give Cook a go....
satyricon replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
"Neeld said Watts was one of four players who could fill the void, with defender James Frawley, ruckman Stefan Martin and untried youngster Lucas Cook also under consideration. "James Frawley has been in my office every day this week wanting to know if it's his turn to be the defender-come-forward," Neeld said. "We feel we play better footy with two tall target forwards and we'll try and get the best mix to make sure we play that way. "We just need someone to come in and understand the role that we want them to play." From SEN website and from Neeld's press conference, Brisbane will have no idea Two talls, Clark, Rivers and Garland made 3, I love it, Chip to the forward line, as if!!!! Note Matt McGuire is out so Merrett may have to go back if we go really tall so it may be win win, although it is their 'little' forwards doing the damage -
Posters on this board to actually form their own opinions and not parrot from commentators/opinion makers/Grant Thomas Mitch Clark be ready for preseason Nev Jetta and Max Gawn to avoid another injury Col Sylvia to get through the pre season without finding yet another new way to hurt himself The Club drafting who Neeld wants

satyricon replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes I would agree I am a fan of Martin, last year he played a lot in the ruck when Jamar was injured, and you acknowledge he improved last year, so therefore he must have played 'tall' , I don't follow your logic What chronic kicking issues? He is a ruckman/fwd Jamar has kicked 45 goals in 122 games so 1 in every 3, Martin has kicked 17 in 52 so 1 in every 3 If you watch the broadcast on the ABC and the commentators/opinion makers say he has an issue with this goalkicking, that is not necessarily correct, it is their opinion If I was Neeld and he plays Martin my instruction to him would be to use his size and athleticism and crash a few packs, I doubt he will be the Nr 1 target up front anyway except for the 'get out of jail' long bomb, think it will be our new gun fwd Rivers -

satyricon replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was reading the above whilst drinking a coffee, I wished I hadn't, after spilling it, can I ask whether you actually watch the games Martin was the most improved player on our list last year, this year he has been hampered by an old hip injury playing up, I know because I have had at least two ten minute chats with him He then, trying to get back fit as soon as possible, managed to damage his quad, he is now back fit and firing Unless you are Sandilands Maxy Gawn or NikNat since when has 200cm been too short to play ruck He has kicked six goals in his last two games for Casey, yes he missed from right in front at the weekend but so has every forward I have ever watched at one time or other I think Stef will get the nod this week, with specific instructions Unless of course Neeld comes up with something completely left field, which I for one am getting used to and look forward to maybe happening -
seconded....he is just not in very good form at the moment, but still doing his role...Buckley is like Neeld who are both like Malthouse, he wouldn't be in the side if Buckely did not want him to be
-
Kelvin Lawrence: - Kicks 5, Handballs 7, Tackles 5, Goals 1 Kelvin kicked a goal, chased and worked hard defensively. first and foremost Neeld wants player who work hard defensively, as he says the rest will come on top of that, so that seems to be the focus for Kel Lawrence, for those who can't get to training, Leigh Brown really drives him during the drills, Neil Craig is in his ear as well...... what is the hurry...he is still only 19 not 20 til October, he is on the rookie list, could be anything, and everything
-
Oh look a player has played 13 games at the top level....and he is improving.....well I'll be gobsquaggled....you don't see that happening very often do you
-
Best I can do, usffering from PCOFSS.......Post Clark Out For Season Syndrome
-
"I don't want to detract".........BUT....that is exactly what you are doing, we won by 13 goals, I would not have cared if Col Garland had 'farted' with great force and it went between the posts..... ..the glass will always remain half empty with some won't it

Mid-Season Review Part One: Jones to McKenzie
satyricon replied to Johnny Karate's topic in Melbourne Demons
That is the whole point with Col, he can't get a consistent run at it, I get as frustrated as the next man when he produces a moment of brilliance and then does nothing for the rest of the time, but he has very rarely got a full pre season in, he has always found a way to injure himself or (get himself banned -although I think this was only once) I am sure he knows exactly where he stands with Mark Neeld, but Neeldy is playing him, so I suppose at the moment this means he deserves his place no matter what everybody on here thinks. And I think it is a cop out and insulting to the other players if posters say there is no one else, if Neeldy wanted to go with a young player, I am sure he would- 20 replies

Mid-Season Review Part One: Jones to McKenzie
satyricon replied to Johnny Karate's topic in Melbourne Demons
Like the post, well thought out, but a couple or three comments "Watts is too talented to not be a very good player at AFL level for a long time but it looks as though it will be as a rebounding defender at this stage" yes and no, that is what he is doing at the moment Cale Morton Rating: 4/10 - "Does some good things, but the howlers & the shirking really hurt his stocks" - still picked this week so must be doing something right, of course everbody repeats the howlers and supposed shirking don't they. we have posters on this board who have never made a mistake Col Sylvia - "Rating: 1/10 - career worst form & really should be having more of an impact (or at least looking like he cares) interrupted pre season notwithstanding" - which part of players saying "it is great to get a full pre season in, as it sets you up for the season proper" do posters on this board not get......I am sure Col would like to get one in one of these seasons- 20 replies

What is it with Brian Royal bashing So far this season he has had at his disposal Jones - if he continues with form should win B & F by a street McKenzie - is McKenzie Moloney - injured and out of form at various stages Morton - trying to teach him midfield role Magner - 11 AFL games Grimes - only just got his body right for the middle Watts - see Morton Howe - see Morton Bail - injury, in and out Trengove - getting him to do more of a tagging role for his education Bate - in and then out Jamar - no real back up for him, working like a trojan Martin - injury, in and out Green - injury, out of form Gysberts - injured Evans - injured Gawn - injured Couch - they don't think he is quite ready Taggert - injured Jetta - injured Tynan - injured So perhaps he knows what he wants in there, just not getting it at the moment, let's wait and see, he has had 11 games as Midfield Coach, he did an alright job with the St Kilda mids once he had sorted out a few issues, most are still going strong I am so looking fwd to next years midfield if we can fix the bodies, Viney, Taggert, Gysberts, Trengove, Jones, Magner, Couch, Jamar and Gawn

Throw Monopoly Money at $cully on Sunday
satyricon replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
I nearly gave up, ok try it this way, played contact sport for 44 years, every game I played, tried to hurt/psychologically damage/beat/humiliate etc my opponent(s), but at the end shook hands, it is just a game.....go to footy, have two hours of christ knows what, do all of the above....walk home through East Melbourne, either celebrating or commiserating with my lovely lady....close front door, think about next week...log on to Demonland during the week to see if there is anything interesting......see which player has had forty two touches, kicked ten goals, and looked sensational during the post match interview.......and blame Norm Smith for putting our recruiting back 50 years so we couldn't draft him -

You tend to shoot yourself in the foot sometimes RR. "Reportedly" by who...their managers? Nice story gets a few more lines in the media Club will not confirm or deny, doesn't want the players knowing who is on what etc If you don't think it is a business, let's see what happens next time the TV rights come up and the players have a bit more influence these days Cloke is waiting to get the best deal he can, Scully didn't have to wait, the only difference I am passionate about my Club, but I temper my passion, it is just a game of footy. played by a Club with I think Don McLardy said Cam Scwhab looked after a $40M turnover, that's a business....it is not a few beers and a sausage roll after the game these days My passion leads me to believe that I don't need to constantly bash the Club, the players, the administration, the ex players, the ex administration like some do on this board. I support the Club going forward, the only thing I will be doing on Sunday is cheering/crying/sobbing/gasping/sighing over the 22 blokes in the red and blue they are the only ones that matter -

Loyalty means for Martin/Kreuzer/whoever else that their respective managers have got a really good deal for them. This is why there are full time managers and full time List Managers now, so they can buy loyalty...and front end contracts, and have other incentives etc etc.. I notice Cloke still hasn't signed on the dotted line, probably doesn't find the loyalty Collingwood are offering big enough at the moment And you can compare because footy is a business these days, how many on this board can put hand on heart and say they didn't/wouldn't do the same I can't, coz they hit my weak spot, my wallet, my present lifestyle thanks them -

So there I sit, in my job working for a company who have provided lots of training, lots of experience, lots of job satisfaction, lots of everything in fact...but then a rival company comes in looking for my experience and is willing to pay me much more than my present company. Hands up who has been in this position, and hands up who took the new job Loyalty does not exist anywhere these days, least of all football. I just want to see MFC win against GWS, don't give a flying as long as that happens -
Charlie Dixon will be a very good player? yet Cameron will be a superstar? Johns was not cut down by injury, I would say he was partly cut down by weight of expectation Kossie showed a hell of a lot and has never properly fulfilled Great if Cameron does progress, but do we really need to chase? Maybe if he produces next year and kicks 40 or 50, maybe I'll give you one more name to mull over....Jack Anthony
