  1. After 20 games coming from the VAFA his skills are ok and can get better notice he was straight back into the team after injury, Nicho will be ok...... Same with Nev Jetta, couple of games at Casey then in then back after suspension, Neeld has realised that Dunn can be a very good mid size defender, think he will stay And Lewis Jetta is Nev's cousin, same as Leroy.....believe Nev has a brother a bit younger but also supposedly a talented young player
  2. I watch the footy, Watts reads the ball, if you actually stay on your feet you are more useful on a lot of ocaasions.....don't believe everything that is written...Watts was dropped to Casey for form
  3. You are just repeating what is said on the board here about Watts, if you look at Pendlebury (who I hope Jack can get close to in his career) he looks a lot of the time he is not trying but he gets the ball How many tackles did Morton have this year? Bulking up is not necessarily the answer, I was a good tackler at the footy even being small why because I had played rugby league as well, it is timing and technique.....hence why the best tacklers are not monsters but similar build to MFC's Jordie Mac....who has a great technique
  4. 1. Explode the myth that Jack Watts lacks intensity 2. Ask why if we get Wellingham who is one of the most streamlined midfielders going around, why I need to bulk up others?
  5. OD it is not that we don't acknowledge NikNat as a good player, it is the hype that he is a great player that gets up some noses, it would still be the same if he was a MFC player.........I just want Bruce McAveney to have sex with NikNat and that will rid all the sexual tension he has in his commentary of every game that NikNat plays in.....I regard him the same as Jeremy Howe....exciting to watch but still a long way to go game wise.........quite a few at the B&F thought Howie was a shoe in for a top five place but the Coaches know better.....as somebody else said it is nice PR for the AFL....NikNat may or may not be a great player in the future, personally I think Howie has a better chance of that
  6. So the experts have been watching tooty for 35 yrs have they?.......what makes them better judges than me the AA team is a crock, always has been, always will, NikNat was a political decision to grow the game.... ...I am so sick of the hype over this guy, yes he is big and athletic, yes he does some freakish things, but last weekend Jolley and Dawes smacked him and Cox............. NikNat is just a highlight reel at the moment, and when Cox hangs up his boots let's see what he can do then...he may turn out to be a great player.....but the definition of a great player on this board according to some is a player who can influence a game and maybe win it....NikNat is so far off being that player ......Sam Jacobs by everything, stats etc was the best ruckman this season, then daylight......I repeat where are Gibson, Mitchell, Pavlich......
  7. Sorry Old Dee but 'experts' apart from putting NikNat in the ruck, where are Gibson, Pavlich, Mitchell etc etc
  8. My point exactly...you have to spend the money....United need to keep succeeding they are so far in debt, one poor season and they are gone......maybe the "culture" there is fear.... Everybody who plays professional sport wants to win, it is what drives them to be at the top, otherwise we would have the AFL at VAFA standard My opinion is based on sport was fine about 40 years ago without all these fancy words, teams still won (and lost) and the work environment seemed to survive without them as well....I played sport to win, if I didn't think I could win at a particular sport I didn't do it......that is the 'culture'...it is just some are not as good as others...but it can happen......but it does not need a fancy word to define it....it is just a desire to win I had the desire but being the height of a large garden gnome I took a battering trying to win, now with pins holding where the limbs and other bits join reminding me.........but I won quite a bit, just because I had desire to do it...if next year we have 46 guys with a desire to win no matter what the cost, we will....but maybe a team will be bigger and better, the desire will still be the same, just the bodies might not be....it has nothing whatsover to do with this overused 'culture' word...
  9. It is a buzz word, my opinion, no matter how many people will try, I ain't gonna change......you play sport to win, that is the culture..the rest is as above....... how about Manchester United (one of the most successful teams in the last twenty years) or Manchester City...their culture, ......spend money.........to bring in the best players....ie to beat the big guys
  10. so if the Swans lose to an emotionally charged Magpies outfit this weekend, does this mean the Swans 'culture' has failed... as I have said cerebral masturbation, you play to win, that's all...this is footy, sport....it is bad enough in the modern workplace without it becoming pervasive on the sporting arena........... buzz words over the last twenty years...."backs to the wall", "the right stuff", "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" "in for the long haul" etc etc etc etc etc........ Nowadays it seems people need a motivational word to drive them on, in the past you just did it........ Next season if MFC win a few games then I know our 'culture' is improving
  11. Seconded, but I express my opinion to players, officials etc, by the way...... they do listen
  12. All this culture stuff is rubbish......it is simple......if you play sport....you want to win....simple as that.....as long as the players want to win it should happen........but I am only small so if I wrestled a big guy I should lose......our 'winning' culture is to get our guys to beat the big guys......everything else is complete cerebral masturbation
  13. cul·ture/ˈkəlCHər Maintain (tissue cells, bacteria, etc.) in conditions suitable for growth So that's how we are treating our players, got the wrong one
  14. Mitch Clarke was not on crutches at the B & F he got the escalator fine, I should know I was behind him, Jack Fitzpatrick was, he has had an ankle clean up, the only other one on crutches was Clint Bartram
  15. I actually p*****d off Mitch with a tweet, so I assume I got a 'good' answer when I asked him about the foot so after "ear bashing" me he said he was in the moon boot at the B & F coz it made people more careful about stepping on it, and the foot is progressing really well so he is looking fwd to being ready to go at the start of pre season
  16. Most of us can recognise the garbage rumours......... if I was Riv and with Free Agency coming in, coz the players wanted it, I would test the waters......every player whose contract is up 'tests the waters' every year...through their managers to see if they can get a trade, move on etc....this is no different....just Neeld stopping another garbage rumour in its tracks
  17. Ok folks I have the truth....I know someone who has a dog that knows the dog that regularly exercises on Gotschs paddock, the dog, supposedly, in between polluting the beautiful green grass on the oval and chasing a stray Melbourne Victory player who was facing the wrong way, overheard a conversation between Neil Craig and Mark Neeld.... MN....."spoken to the recruiters, after reading Demonland I think it is better if we delist all 46 and start again, if anyone asks we can blame Barry Prendergast" NC....."actually I have a cunning plan that Charlie Walsh told me about" MN......" what's that?' NC.....'it's called recycling" and so the fantasy begins......including the fact the anybody remotely connected to the Footy Dept at MFC regards the opinions of players on this board........
  18. BP was a disaster......got to blame some one........I was waiting for CC to get a name check again ok let's see this preseason and see what we get with Howe, Blease, Nicholson, Strauss, Grimes etc etc and then perhaps we can.......every single club does not get it right every single time......or perhaps one of the posters on here can tell me which Club has
  19. give it a rest...we know your opinion.....assume you are going to apply next vacancy that comes up?
  20. Posters 5.5 average Need to understand what the meaning of 'getting a full presseason in" actually means to consistent peformance during the season Need to understand that the new Coach wants versatility in 'all' players and has been asking them to perform roles that they may not be familiar or comfortable with Need to understand that if you get an injury that requires a couple of weeks off during the season, it takes a couple of games to get back going again Need to understand that this could have been a worthwhile exercise for some, but some decided to just 'bash' their normal bashees. Need to understand that whatever they post on here has no influence on the Footy Dept thinking whatsoever. Going to the B&F Expect to see Jones, Howe, Rivers, Tommy Mc, Grimes, Jordie Mc feature as top 5 or 6 , rest had injuries, loss of form etc Dan Nicholson for coach's award Most of the ratings I have seen seem fair (tongue in cheek) but really......Watts. people need to get a grip, he is still only 21 will reach his prime in a couple of yeas, (and before the Darling name pops up....he is one forward in a forward line that can contain Lynch, Kennedy, Natanui or Cox, Le Cras, Embley etc, so he hasn't exactly got a teams best defender on him) Jack will be a player but more in the Goddard mould Same applies to Trengove Gee not sure how the italics to there, keyboard must have been drungting
  21. Well said, I find the keyboard heroes on here love nothing better than kicking someone when they are down, Aaron Davey has been a great player for MFC over the last few years, he deserves a lot better than some of the posts on this topic, they should be ashamed of yourselves, but I doubt they are.... moving on to the next target!!!!!
  22. I looked at the thread title and had a read, I am totally confused, this is like a Sienfeld episode, it is about nothing? what is the issue facing us? or is it just a thread for posters to bring up there personal agenda.....must be the off season
  23. Gee we seem to conveniently forget, from when Bailey took over till he left, so had 21 players.....is that enough for you? Yet another post to start bashing all and sundry I am all for change, so bring it on, just don't bang on about it or the past Look forward
  24. I love posts like this, posters bemoan our list constantly, "guy can't stay fit", "terrible year" "a list clogger", 'downhill skier" etc etc but as soon as another Club looks like releasing another player who could easity fit into any of the above categories, we are off...let's get him Lynch is out of favour at Weagles...why? Dawes has had a horrible year Edwards can't crack a game.....if he was that good, he would replace somebody in their side Gumbleton is injury prone
  25. I think Ministry in their "Thieves, Liars" period would be a better choice although MCR is a nice alternative.......need a rap bit in the middle though....something along the lines Barry P Barry P Barry P Who will it be Yeah Bang!!!
