  1. Well, I was one of those who thought he would be a good get... thankfully we didn't, but I suppose we could only judge him on his form at that time. Funnily enough, Dawes is probably thinking something along similar lines :-)
  2. Sorry, but I really don't understand why you have even raised this point. Watts was moved back because he was not getting enough of the ball up forward and was not scoring the goals to justify a key position in the forward line - I suspect it is a move more intended to teach him how to become a more effective forward by playing on the best forwards in the game. Despite my earlier uninformed posts on Cameron, I now realise that Cameron IS scoring goals and IS winning contests, so there is obviously no reason to move him anywhere.
  3. Actually, given that many have been speculating as to whether Cook or Martin will come in as Clark's obvious replacement, Petterd seems to have been overlooked. The more I think about it, the more I think this could be his chance at redemption as with Rivers and Garland doing well up forward, there may be room for him to take a role in the forward half.
  4. Nah, I'm pretty sure watermelon would be safe around Phil... he looks like a strictly meat and potatoes guy to me.
  5. I thought they had turned up expecting a one-day cricket match... surprised none of them had a half a watermelon stuck on their head.
  6. Yes, i twas great to see... but it was very out of character. That's not a criticism by the way, just thought there may have been more to it.
  7. Good: Dunn's chase down and resulting free.
  8. Yeah, I know what happened... but it seemed maybe there was more to it, because he came from a very long way away, and as I said, I have never seen him get involved like that before. It seemed very out of character, so I thought maybe he had a score to settle from earlier in the game.
  9. Does anyone know what got Jones so fired up that he covered a lot of ground to get involved in an altercation with a GWS player after a boundary line incident... I have never seen him do anything like that before. Surely there was more to it than just standing up for his own?
  10. 6 Jones 5 McDonald 4 Dunn 3 Clark 2 Rivers 1 Grimes
  11. Maybe, but why demean his effort by mentioning it? Anyway, I think he has done well today as has Dunn... his tackle late in the quarter was a superb effort.
  12. Jeeesus... the guy just cannot take a trick!
  13. Sellar has been having another good game
  14. I have actually seen him give off the ball a few times to good effect (a couple of times not so)... maybe we are both missing something?
  15. No, you're not alone in that thought at all... he has done a few good things today. What we see on this forum is generally a Pavlovian form of conditioned response to anything players like Davey, Morton, MacDonald, etc do.
  16. Could someone please tell Jones it's not November yet.
  17. Clark's already equaled his best tally this year... looking good for double figures today.
  18. Can't believe how bad Howe' hands are today
  19. Pathetic is a word that springs to mind. Insipid is another.
  20. Should we say the same to all of those upset over Scully's defection?
  21. What theory? I hadn't realised I was putting forward a theory. The first poster had said that selfish players would be shown the door... I cited Ablett and Franklin as two players who could be considered selfish (in Ablett's case, that is precisely what he has been accused of in recent times), yet it is highly unlikely that either would ever be shown the door. No theory, just a simple observation. Is it getting to the point where we shouldn't comment for fear of being jumped on?
  22. My response was supporting Biffen's response to the "quickest way out the door" comment that related to where selfish players end up.
  23. Some would say that Gary Ablett Jnr and Buddy might also get lumped into the "selfish footballer" category.
  24. "Hey Tom! The drinks are on you!"
