  1. You may have no problem with it DemonWA (I certainly have no problem with it either), but if the club has a rule that there will be no late night escapades during the season, then they have no option but to punish the offender. After all, they are paying their players a sh!tload of money (members' money) and require them to be at peak fitness for the entires season... and lack of sleep/over indulgence, is not the best way to maintain peak levels of fitness.
  2. Forget Boak I would say...looks like he's ready to sign a three year deal with Geelong: http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/boak-cuts-power-eyes-deal-with-cats-20120806-23qew.html
  3. You'd have to ask the OP that question...however, the way I read it was that he was giving grades to the listed players' performances this year, in much the same way we were graded at school; I may be wrong, but that's just how I interpreted it.
  4. I think you'll find that the OP was grading the players in terms of where they stand relative to our list...NOT the AFL.
  5. Collingwood has decided to suspend Brownlow Medallist Dane Swan over a night on the town last Sunday: http://www.afl.com.a...83/default.aspx
  6. According to an article on AFL.com: So maybe he was going to be safe anyway.
  7. A - Grade Clark, Jones, Watts (A+ for his work in the backline) B + Garland, Grimes, Howe, McDonald, McKenzie, Rivers B- Bail, Frawley, Martin, Nicholson, Blease, Moloney, Sylvia, Trengrove Talented but injured Bartram, Jamar, Jurrah Good ordinary footballers Dunn, Jetta, MacDonald, Magner, Sellar Proven but ageing Davey, Green Starting Out Cook, Davis, Fitzpatrick, Gawn, Gysberts, Spencer, Strauss, Taggert, Tynan, Couch, Evans, Sheahan, Williams Trade Bait Bate, Morton, Petterd Possible Delistings Bennell (love the guy, but form plus injury will see him have no trade value)
  8. Yes, to quote:
  9. I'm sure I read that McKenzie was a late replacement because of a knee complaint; yet the list has him as "shoulder (test)"? Edit: Thought so... from the MFC site game review:
  10. Yeah, I'm pretty excited over his form as well.
  11. Yes, but don't forget RF, they have neither the view nor knowledge of the game, that we here on Demonland have.
  12. But I was under the impression Freemantle fared quite well from an administrative point of view, during Schwab's tenure. As an aside, Rob Mac... in LA with a guitar... could your post be regarded as Mackenzie's theory? ;-)
  13. My conclusion would be that there were a number of D'landers near the bench; putting the boot in while he is down is something a few on here are very adept at doing.
  14. The only one they need to believe in, is themselves... half time now, and it's looking like they have that belief, regardless of the fact it's a weaker opposition.
  15. I'm loving Tappy's beard.
  16. I had absolutely no doubts that Jones would re-sign...he is MFC to the core.
  17. I actually think it...the Suns are starting to show signs of weariness, and we will be trying to take focus off tanking talk.
  18. 81 points - the Dees
  19. The club obviously believes that they can afford it, so unless you are privy to information that says the club is telling us porkies, then the money involved goes out of the equation. If we were to stack up on midfielders, pray tell who they are going to be delivering the ball to... all of those forwards that have stepped up in Clark's absence? Go ahead and hand your membership back, I will buy another for my second son to make up the difference.
  20. We will be shopping for more than just midfielders, if McLardy's comments mean anything (which I imagine they would): "The Demons will target a key forward during the trade period and are the best-placed club to snare Travis Cloke, should he decide to leave Collingwood, according to Melbourne president Don McLardy." http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/demons-confirm-cloke-room-20120730-23a45.html#ixzz22B45GGdt With all of the midfielders in the world and only one reliable target up forward, we are wasting our time... I hope we get Cloke and a couple of decent midfielders.
  21. I'm at the "Rupert Pupkin" stage and plan to start taking hostages if they don't improve real soon.
  22. No, we would be no better off, but quite possibly a great deal worse off. Any new coach will bring a change of game plan, their own team of assistants and will want to restructure the list according to their own game based philosophies. In other words, we would be taking a few more steps backwards to go forwards... not to mention that we would be further dividing the list we currently have, particularly those who have committed to the Neeld direction. The last thing this list club needs now are further disruptions and divisions. All of the talk on this site about changing captaincy and changing the coach after they have had less than a season to make any kind of impact, is laughable. This is a football club, NOT a fast food outlet!
  23. So you are in essence saying that if the younger inexperienced players are under-performing, we sack the leadership group? To Natopia indeed! (http://shireroth.org/shirewiki/Natopia)
