Cook can handle ruck duties can he? Or do we let Martin do a Jamar and do it all by himself? I'm glad Spencer hasn't been dropped... he is nowhere near as bad as some here would like us to believe.
-
Why should there be an apology? It was posted a long time before any official announcement was made and as such could only be considered speculation (I even stated that it may well be true, but...). Very noble of you to talk for Brey9186 jnrmac, but there will be no apology forthcoming as none is required.

You can add Jamar to the list... many were calling for him to be traded/delisted and just a couple of seasons later he is AA as well. I will keep repeating it...despite what people are saying here, Spencil was starting to show something good before he was struck down and went under the knife, and there is no reason why he won't do so again.... then again, patience has never been much of a virtue with quite a few on these forums.

Yeah, in the Martin & Connor thread, Nasher said something along the lines of "We should definitely draft Connor".

Just keep him away from the water tower. -
Looks like Spencer, Bail, McDonald (inj), Sellar (poss inj) and one more (edit: oh yes, Bate)?

I believe he went for a sleep-over at a mate's place ;-)

"While Connors, who is on prescribed sleeping medication, was not drinking alcohol, he had, by his own admission, failed to uphold the standards set by the club by missing the training session," "As a result, he has decided to walk away from the club and focus on the next phase of his life." Sure, you get sacked for failing to turn up to practice after taking "prescribed" medication (begs the question what Martin was doing taking someone else's prescribed medication) - even after previous warnings, that sounds a bit suss? And HE decided to walk away from the club? Hmmmmm. -

Well, I for one would like to know what it is that we are all supposed to know that he gets up to. -
So true OD, so true :-)

Every time we go up against a depleted side convinced we will beat them, we get done! I refuse to take any confidence from Richmond's sudden loss of several "key" players. -
Supposedly (and this is just a rumour, so take it at face value) one reason T$ returned early from the Shanghai trip was that a certain lanky young ruckman threw up on him.
-
Since you posted this an hour ago and there is still no official announcement, then I would suggest you really have no idea... it may well turn out that this is the outcome, but please don't present speculation as fact. And please don't say they are "ripe for the picking"... every time we become complacent because the opposition is under strength, we get hammered.

Robbo (at Herald Sun) tweeted earlier: "Breaking News: 2 Tigers face severe discipline for social behavior. Sacking possible" I assume that is speculation (obviously), but it will be interesting to hear what actually happened for him to come out with that... I know one has a bit of history, but that is still a pretty extreme measure if nothing too serious transpired. -
Funny, but unfortunately not surprising, that yet another thread turns into speculation over the future of certain players at the club.

Nah, he likes throwing other stuff around... just ask Scully.

TT3D - Closer to the Edge - mentioned this in my last post. Brilliant documentary on the Isle of Man TT Motorcycle racing. Genghis Blues from IMDB: "The extraordinary odyssey of a U.S. musician of Cape Verdean ancestry to Tannu Tuva, in central Asia, where nomadic people throat sing more than one note simultaneously, using vocal harmonics. A bluesman, Paul Pena, blind and recently widowed, taught himself throat singing and was by chance invited to the 1995 throat-singing symposium in Kyzyl. Helped by the "Friends of Tuva," Pena makes the arduous journey. Singing in the deep, rumbling kargyraa style, Pena gives inspired performances at the festival, composes songs in Tuvan, washes his face in sacred rivers, expresses the disorientation of blindness in foreign surroundings, and makes a human connection with everyone he meets." Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus from IMDB: "Director Andrew Douglas's film follows "Alt Country" singer Jim White through a gritty terrain of churches, prisons, truck stops, biker bars and coal mines. This journey takes you through a very real contemporary Southern America, a world of marginalised white people and their unique and home-made culture. Along the way are roadside encounters with present-day musical mavericks including The Handsome Family, Johnny Dowd, 16 Horsepower and David Johansen; oldtime banjo player Lee sexton; rockabilly and mountain Gospel churches - and novelist Harry Crews telling grisly stories down a dirt track."

My favourite French film is Diva... cannot recommend this one highly enough. Others are Wages of Fear, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, Mic Macs and Amelie. We recently bought a 3D TV and to test it out, I watched "3D TT - Closer to the Edge"... this is an amazing documentary on the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race. Jaw droppingly good!!

We all see what we want to see... I didn't notice it at all.

Well, maybe you weren't aware of it, but about 4 years into Jamar's career when he was showing very little, the forums were abuzz with calls for his delisting, trade etc etc... then all of a sudden, things seemed to click with him and in the space of about two years he gained All Australian selection.
-
Doesn't this belong in the General Discussion forum? You already made your point in the Spencer thread, so it begs the question, why start up a new thread anyway?
-
As is "dumb thread"
-
And to repeat what so many have already stated... to get up to standard, a player (and possibly more so a ruckman) needs to get games into them. he has had just 4 years, much of which has been interrupted by injury, and he was improving and starting to show something just prior to his last injury, and at 22, he has a lot of time ahead of him to get up to standard. No doubt you would have been one of the chorus line calling for Jamar's axing prior to him finding his feet? That's what I love about these forums... as soon as we put in a poor performance, too many are looking for scapegoats with a view to them being placed on the chopping block.

Dumping our captains after one season sends a great message to the playing group... not!! Particularly so close on the heels of the dumping of J McD and Brad Green. In my opinion, and speaking as a Nathan Jones fan, I think that regardless of his qualifications, replacing the current captains would be entirely counter productive and what little morale there is in the playing group would be lost.
