  1. Yes, if he doesn't take a break, he'll go blind and then he'll be of no use to the club at all!
  2. I think we should stick with him... but having said that, if things keep going the way they are on both sides of the country, we might be able to do a straight swap for Nik Nat ;-)
  3. First let me preface this by saying that I have absolutely no knowledge of injury management (let alone physiology, etc), but... is it possible that injury management doesn't even come into the equation on this occasion? Is it possible that no one injury is ever really the same and that recovery will be dependent upon the individual concerned's physical build, genetic make-up (some people seem to naturally heal/recover more quickly than others), mental approach etc - I imagine that injury management will never be an exact science and that there will always be some that will not recover as expected.
  4. Pavlov could have a field day with MFC supporters and conditioned responses ;-)
  5. Funy, I just looked at the ladder and West Coast and Saints are both top 8, GCS is 9th... if Roos had all of Dawes, Hogan and Clark from the opening round, the scenario would be very different. To say we are failing is flawed as the game plan obviously cannot work to full effect with a major part of it missing... as was evidenced in the improvement upon Dawes return.
  6. Will answer as best I can. There was no one standout for me, but Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Black Sorrows, Elvis Costello and the North Mississippi Allstars all blew me away. Unfortunately I didn't get to see John Butler as he was on stage immediately before the Dave Matthews Band and so it was just far too crowded to get in there. Instead, I went and watched Greg Allman Band who were on stage immediately before Jeff Beck. My personal mission was to get as close to the stage as possible so I could get the best possible photographs. I heard some Kate Miller Heidke but didn't get close to the stage as I went there after watching another act elsewhere... what I did see and hear was excellent. Saskwatch didn't really do it for me... good, but just not my "style" I suppose. Tim Rogers I saw twice and thought he was excellent on both occasions. He is one very funny man and as a bonus he had Shane O'Mara playing guitar with him. The babe onstage with Jeff Beck? I think I mentioned it in the photo's caption, but just in case I didn't, that was Joss Stone... she sung I Put a Spell On You. That was the final number of Jeff Beck's set. The biggest surprises for me were the North Mississippi Allstars, Nikki Hill, CW Stoneking, Valerie June, The Paladins and the Backsliders. Also were many excellent old blues men and stallwarts such as Charlie Musselwhite, Jimmie Vaughan, James Cotton and Greg Allman. Also enjoyed the Magic Band (Captain Beefheart's band) and the Grandmothers of Invention that had a couple of early members of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention (Napolean Murphy Brock and Don Preston). It was just so big that it was hard to keep up with everything. Had a great time and the camping facilities there are great so, I was able to enjoy it with no daily commute. Hope you liked the photos.
  7. Buddy was probably attempting a "hook turn".
  8. Not sure about this meditation caper... I was just checking mantras and it appears one of Neeld's very distant ancestors may have had some input: “I am that I am” – This is one of the Hebrew Torah’s most famous lines, and it was God’s answer to Moses when Moses asked for his name. “Ham-Sah” – The Hindu variant, meaning I am THAT.
  9. In case anyone is interested, I have put my Bluesfest pics up on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tim.fleming.75/media_set?set=a.653998661302087.1073741837.100000758763064&type=3
  10. Roos isn't ruling out Salem as an inclusion: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-04-23/salem-in-the-mix-for-round-six-roos
  11. Hogan will get over his injury... but Dees supporters will never be patient :-)
  12. Can't say I've been a fan since Bon Scott went to meet his maker... still, I guess they've earned their retiremement... when you think about it, they've probably been working at their job for as long as most people do in the regular workforce (and they've probably been exposed to more potential workplace safety issues than most).
  13. Seems a bit at odds with the Casey player reviews: "Jack Trengove: Jack had 15 disposals and was closely watched by the opposition. He battled hard all day, but didn’t have a huge influence on the game unfortunately. But we expect Jack to bounce back quickly, given he’s a quality player."
  14. Not saying it that this is the case for you Lamashtu, but that statement is very subjective for quite a few on these forums. How often have we seen players who have performed well at VFL level and amassed plenty of possessions described as being just great VFL players that will never cut it at AFL level.
  15. To be fair, it's hard to go near the circle when there is no circle.
  16. 6. N. Jones 5. Frawley 4. Grimes 3. J. Viney 2. Pedersen 1. Spencer
  17. It's funny, you know Pedersen has had a good game when he hardly rates a mention on here...that goal of his was just the icing on the cake. Happy to say I tipped us this week.
  18. And which trenches are these you speak of? Are we all going to jump into a time machine and hurtle back to the Western Front? God I hate the use of that old "he's someone I'd like to have next to me in the trenches" chestnut!
  19. I actually agree with this.... most of us probably can feel sympathy for Mitch's plight, but I would agree that it is a fact that most of us would have a lot of trouble feeling empathy. This is because most of us have not been in that place and even if we know people who have, would still have very little understanding of what is taking place in their heads. Semantics I know, but true none-the-less.
  20. Bring in Tapscott, let him lay out Robinson at the opening bounce, then sub him off.
  21. Understanding doesn't even come into the equation when you're a troll; in fact it's a hinderance.
  22. Depression does not necessarily have anything to do with money or social status... it is a mental illness and as such can affect the wealthiest, most comfortably off as much as it can the poor and homeless... in fact, when I was in India, the kids I saw in the slums and the lepers were generally happier than many people I have seen here.
