Please... no. They were at Bluesfest last year and I gave them a wide birth... didn't even get within earshot. I saw them in the UK supporting the Allman Brothers at Knebworth when they were at the height of their powers in 1974 and hated them (the Allman Brothers were superb by the way). But that's just my personal taste. I just think that the entertainment at the MCG should be a little more relevant to the present, that's all... and it probably should not be limited to just one artist performing their greatest hit(s)... put on 3 local acts performing one song each... logistically very doable and removes the issue of not catering for a wide enough range of tastes.

Great report, but I do have to pull you up on one grammatical error (but it's obviously good news that JKH seems to have been working on his upper body strength).... JKH ran AND threw the corridor a few times in match sims. Got caught the odd time time without many options before him, but very quick! Also his goal kicking drew some applause from the crowd.

If you can't stick with the club through the bad times, then as far as I'm concerned, you don't deserve to enjoy the good times when they eventually come. If every financial member withdrew their support when things go bad, there would be no good times ahead as there would no longer be a club for you to follow.

I know it's just a banner, but I have to admit to being a little disappointed that Jetta didn't get the recognition he deserves. For a long time he was a popular whipping boy on these forums (along with Dunn and Watts among others), but last year he turned his game around and was probably the most improved player on our list (even moreso than the Ped). I certainly would have had him ahead of Grimes or Lamumba who is yet to play a game in the red and blue... yes, I know he's in the leadership group, but I would have thought players have to earn their place on the BANNER!

Sorry, but I disagree entirely with this. By all reports, Hogan has had a relatively solid pre-season, has been doing all that is required of him and has not been experiencing any issues with his back. The MFC would know that they have the veritable snow flake's chance in hell of making finals, so they may as well go as hard as possible in the early part of the season in an effort to win a few games (or at least run a few good teams very close) and to boost memberships and they also know that the best way to do that is to hit the ground running and with some confidence/self-belief. . Injuries can happen at any time as we have already seen. These guys are professional AFL players who essentially live to play the game and to win regardless of the game's significance, so why hold them back?
