Green's tackling is an embarrassment, and these long bombs in hope to outnumbered forwards are going to be the death of me.

I'l never be ashamed of this club. We have enough people from the outside trying to sink the boot in. I'll express my disdain for the way certain things transpire but I'll get over it within 24 hours because the sun always rises tomorrow and this club surives on support from people like demonlanders.

Nude run down the street good.

Not sure how this would work from a pragmatic or legal point of view, or how it would work ongoing? Who takes ownership of this "sponsorship" form the supporter side? Doesn't donating money/buying additional memberships to the club achieve exactly the same aim for all intents and purposes? Surely the club would be better served in seeking out external corporate sponsorship as to an extent, money from the supporters will always be there. Don't mean to be a naysayer and I like the thought behind it, just not sure how practical it is.

Are we on candid camera?

In all honesty I won't be paying attention to the scroeboard. I just want to see some resolve and no dropping of heads when it gets tough....so halfway through the first quarter.

No Nonsense Neeld ... Let the Fallout Begin.
P-man replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
I liked the way he gave that tossbag at the presser who kept asking about the source of the leak, the exact amount of respect he deserved. The guy is a genuine hardarse. Much welcomed. -
A 5 goal loss would be extraordinary. i'm tipping something around 80 points. West Coast will show us zero mercy.

People care a great deal. It is old news and was discussed in another thread.

Sorry but I'm not copping this. There was a categorical lack of effort from several players, Moloney being one. Nothing to do with learning a gameplan when it's the fundamentals - chasing, tackling, second efforts. It's not excusable.

Mike players so we can head what guys like Ballantyne are saying
P-man replied to Courtney_Fish's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pretty much yeah. -
If he produces the same pissweak effort this week, put a fork in him. I personally didn't agree with him being cast out of the leadership group but he needs to build a bridge. The club needs him now more than ever before.

Can't drop Blease. He had a bad game but he alot of friends on Saturday. The kid has natural talent to burn. Play him off HB and see how he goes.

I'd say that update is purely speculative, plus Gysberts isn't even on the list so taken with a half a grain of salt.

Bloody hell he's an intense bloke. I do like the fire in the belly. A couple of responses to Healy's very direct questions were a bit neither here nor there though. Firstly he was asked about what the gameplan actually was in a nutshell, with Healy emphasising a couple of times the low uncontested possession count through the pre-season and on the weekend. Neeld essentially underlined that what we saw on Saturday wasn't the gameplan being properly executed, which is pretty obvious. Would've liked a bit more insight. He at least acknowledged concern about the possession count and that the defensive efforts around the stoppages was not up to scratch. Gerard also questioned the change of leadership saying that it looked as though the senior players were "insulted" by the decision. Neeld looked to take offense to the assertion, but purely on the basis that it wasn't just him that made the decision but the playing group and the entire coaching staff. The decision was justified based on "data" that was accumulated about their leadership skills. There didn't seem to be much sense of accountability about his response. He's the coach. The buck stops with him. I'm none the wiser as to how a senior player who was also the B&F winner from last year did not accumulate enough "points" to make the leadership group, nor what his own feelings about it were. Surely there's alot more in-depth consideration going into ditching all your senior players form the leadership group and the potential ramifications of that, other than wracking up points under a set criteria. The approach sounded overly systematic to me. He was also happy with the first half against the Lions? Happy with the ball movement and the spread apparently. this is contrary to his presser where he stated that we got "pulverised" from start to finish. Or perhaps that was just in reference to the clearances. In any case, without the absolute gimmes that we got from the umpires, we'd have been a few goals behind at halftime. A bottom four side on our home turf. But I suppose compared to the second half it was gold class and he has to draw some positives from somewhere. Other than this and in a general sense I thought he handled himself quite well for a guy who has just coached his first game. Was very fidgety but didn't look at all intimidated. He reacted appropriately to the Grant Thomas garbage by expressing his disgust and dismissal of the accusation. Personality wise he's what the club needs. Firm, fair, and retaining a sense of humour about it all. It will be interesting to see what he can get out of the players in Perth.

You've seriously gotta be [censored] kidding re Gysberts. Can't buy a trick.

1. Beamer no longer gives a toss 2. Davey no longer gives a toss 3. Green might give a toss, but it's become impossible to tell 4. Despite everything, Grimes was a good choice as captain 5. Neeld is not here to make friends, he is here to try and change a culture

Whenever I read or listen to Grant Thomas' comments, I am only reminded of what a shithouse coach he was. Irrelevant knobend.

The rookies are one of very few shining lights so far. Looking forward to seeing Couch run out this weekend which you'd have to say is inevitable.

Round 1 - who's looking better - Tigers or Dees?

He wasn't placing them in order. -
Bazinga.

hahaha... I have a mental image of Magner, Trengove and Watts running through the banner on their own. Ah well, gotta laugh right? Either that or drink to excess.

These stories about kids getting bullied, not wanting to go to the footy, choosing other clubs...this is the reason why this club is in serious trouble.

Are you an insider..cause this is eerily close. You have to question, is it worth instilling this for an entire season if they aren't the right type of players to implement it? The impact of players like Blease who can provide a bit of run and carry are effectively nullified. I don't recall ever witnessing such a one dimensional style. It was insipid.

Chin up Jaded. Sure we'll get reamed next week, that's inevitable, but we always put in a decent performance against the Tiges. Maybe Round 3 will bring a glimmer of hope. Just a glimmer would be nice.
