The AFL website. Or DeeTV.

The second half of the season suddenly looks a very different equation.

According to Fox, David King is one of footy's most astute minds and Dwayne Russell is the best caller in the game..

"1st 10 mins will be tight and by half time Bombers will be well up. A mini comeback in 3rd stanza will see demons stick within 10 goals at 3/4 time break and after a few party tricks in the last it will be Essendon by 84" "There will probably be no sweat on the players after game lol." "There are only two teams we haven't beaten since 2009. One is collingwood, Melbourne is the other. Time to crush them." "Have a feeling we will still be a bit flat...cant help think there are more sore guys then we let on. We will win this week by around 7 goals but the Sydney game next week will be tough." "I hope a few players cash in against this rabble. Stewart Crameri to kick 7 and top the goalkicking by the end of the round." "Melbourne are so [censored] this year its not funny. They would need to play out of our skins and we would have to have an incredibly bad game for it to even be close. I find it almost incredible people think Melbourne are a chance. I think Essendon will hand out the mother of all floggings. Hird will demand an A grade performance on the G to our gameplan. 60-100pt hiding coming up." Ah...so good.

It really doesn't get much sweeter than this. This is one game I desperately wanted to win and we've gone and done it.

YOU RIPPER!!!!!!!! Never in doubt.

How true it is. The first game when he's looked like he's given a genuine toss and we look infinitely better.

Kangas take the heat off us? (and Buddy gets a bag)

Officially eyeing off the Roos as another winnable game. They were Melbourne-esque today. -
A bit of Stef Martin hate floating around. Short memories. Ridiculous to compare him to Sellar whose provided the sweet sum of F all. Martin can take a grab in the forward 50 for a start..

I can see her being a terrific goal sneak. The Doggies would never stand for it anyway, they'd want first dibs. She certainly couldn't do any harm to the potency of their forwardline. Oh wait, they beat us didn't they..

I'm starting to get a bit worried about Trenners. Going by what Rivers is saying, his run at the moment isn't down to carrying any sort of injury but just really poor form and diminishing confidence. It's such a dramatic turnaround from last season. It's hard not to put it down to the captaincy appointment.

By what rationale is the Energy Watch incident the only means by which we can judge Schwab as an administrator in his 4 years at the club?

Thanks for your response Nasher. Dammit.

What Bootsma lacks in size he makes up for in aggression. He'll be a handy player.

Today was heartening from the view that for the first time this season we weren't so predictable in how we moved the ball forward. We weren't continually opting to bomb it long and hug the boundary to create a stoppage. We were a bit more creative and weren't afraid to look for inside options and use the corridor. We were able to get it out of our back half with more ease. We looked alot more assured with the ball in hand. Likewise our defensive work was ferocious and there were no easy possessions. This is all discounting the last quarter where we completely died in the backside. Clearly we still have alot of work to do on our clearances, and part of that will come with recruiting some quality inside mids, but today was the first time this season where I have seen a glimmer of hope for the future of this club.

So does Pendlebury. I actually think his casual approach is a positive. He doesn't panic under any circumstance which is a massive tick for his age. A definite find.

Slower than Trengove?

Watts was having a decent game up until this last quarter but his efforts or lack thereof have all but cancelled it out. Three decent enough quarters is an improvement though. We desperately need some crumbers. I don't understand why we never have anyone loose around the packs. Fitness is also a big issue I feel. We simply can't run games out. This will improve.

Our players look knackered.
