Have a nice flight back to Blacktown Tom ...
P-man replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Loved Grimes going the push and shove before the bounce. That moment said it all. -
6. Jones 5. Watts 4. Sylvia 3. Clark 2. Grimes 1. Dunn Apologies to McDonald who just misses out. Had a good game overall but also butchered the ball numerous times which fortunately wasn't too costly, but could've been against better opposition. Other honourable mentions to Rivers, Sellar, Blease and Bate.

Dunn has been very good today. Really pleasing to see.

I love Wattsy but his tackling remains as unconvincing as ever.

100+ boys c'mon. Foot on the throat.

I don't quite get the argument that Scully had no choice but to hide his intentions/likely signature because it would mean he wouldn't get played. Hows is that a defence? Surely this is just tough [censored], if indeed it occurs. What's the alternative? The club wasting time and effort on the development of a player who's on the way out. If he's leaving, let him spend his remaining months in the twos or on the sidelines. If he doesn't like it I'm sure he would be quickly consoled by one look at his bank balance.

The rookie is off to a flying start.

I want to see him well and truly levelled. Whoever does it will achieve legend status in my mind, although part of me now wants it to be Mitch Clark given Jaded's...uh...dedication to the cause.
-
I hope the boos are deafening. I want him to be made fully aware as to how the supporters feel about him.

I was previously leaning towards him being more a one man highlight reel than a footballer. However watching him this season you can see him now combining footy smarts with his athletic ability. Though it will be interesting to see how he goes without Cox, his tap work is already sublime. Putting it on a silver platter out of the middle all whilst wracking up 19 contested possessions of his own. As a ruck rover he is resetting the mould. Quicker and better below his knees than any big man is entitled. If all of this wasn't enough, his kicking from set shots now looks to be getting better as well. Those calling him a flash in the pan must not have seen much of him this year cause he is improving all the time. Laughable to suggest he'll never make AA in his career. All that said, I'm still more than comfortable with Watts as our pick so this isn't about that. NicNat however is going to be a star.

Based on what I've seen I rate the kid, but this is a big call. Our forwardline could use some help but it is our midfield that is on life support. Also, short-term thinking perhaps, but the kid needs to run around in the shower to get wet. I'm getting a little tired of recruiting skinny up and comers at this club. Everyone is buzzing about him this week after an impressive game on the weekend and he'll be a star no doubt, but for Watts AND Viney?

(also not sure if Birchall is in All Australian form...no Goddard?)
-
I predict it will contain no Melbourne players.
-
C'mon man..really? Cale Morton would produce a better bump than this.
-
Well played Sheeds you crafty old coot. re booing Junior, I'd like to think none of our supporters are that stupid. Scully however, his first touch will be very interesting.
-
Our biggest liability is currently ranked third in 'Land's Player of the Year.

It's extraordinary isn't it? An openness to other's opinions and not assuming everyone who holds one contrary to your own is an idiot. That's something you should have instilled in you well before adulthood. I'm still glad he's a poster here though.

Even in a Collingwood jumper, I can't bring myself to hate Sidebum.
-
A good, positive post. Just what do you think you're playing at SJ...?
-
The second incident in particular with Maxwell was downright stupid, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't cheering his aggression. God knows we've been crying out for it for a long time.
-
Four. Not disputing that and understand why the comparison is being made, but Stanton is pushing for AA selection this year. Just keeping things in perspective.
-
I really think Trengove needs to be looked at. 53% disposal efficiency today - the worst in the team. Slow as a wet week, not just in foot speed but in decision-making. It's persisting and can't be swept under the rug cause he's captain or he's a #2 pick. He's laying some tackles but that's not good enough. He's close to being below AFL level atm. If he's injured, and the only place I've seen reports that he is is on here, then stop playing him until he's FIT. Green a definite out.
-
Except for the part where Stanton is dominating games this season.
-
Mags is that for me. Even when he's not amongst the best, his courage and endeavour are never questioned.

Another 10 kgs wouldn't go astray either. Just feels like Groundhog Day with him. Very frustrating.
