Turnbull is an infinitely better option as national leader than Abbott. Pointing to this election result as some sort of vote of confidence for Tony Abbott is laughable. As Hawke said, the Coslition didn't win it, Labor lost it through their very public disunity. Most people know next to nothing when it comes to following politics, but they generally know who the PM at the time is. When a political party in power switches leaders twice, returning to the same bloke they had in the first place, they pretty much seal their own fate, no matter what their policy achievements. In truth, they should never have ditched Rudd in the first place. There are many people in this country about to find out that a change for change's sake perhaps wasn't such a great idea after all.

Cracking finals series so far. Roos asked a few times in the post match interviews why Duigan wasn't getting a game. Would love him at Melbourne. Was chuffed to see him get a chance and do well.

Moloney is on a different spiritual plane to most of us. "Beamer's Bumps & Bruises" was like his sermon to the masses.
-
Me too. Malthouse to progress further in the finals than Buckley. Sign me up for some of that. Plus all this "Go Richmond!" crap that seems to have permeated across the league is grating on me. I want them to be bundled out at the first hurdle.

The mods must be spending half their time shutting down Ollie Wines threads. It's time to get over it. We may lure him home in the future once we're a good side, who knows. For now he's a Port player and he seems pretty chuffed about it. Move on.

I have to admit I was more than pleased to hear the blazers had gone. I personally hate the emblem as well as the collared uniform, so I'd love to see them go too and wash our hands of the Schwab era for good, but in truth they're well down the pecking order of priorities for this club.
-
Don't want them? I want every supporter we can muster. Those returning should be welcomed back. It's not like they're riding on the coat tails of success, they just have a reason to believe again.

Quality post.

LOL Make it happen, footy gods.
-
That's strange. I've only ever heard Robbo talk in favour of us getting a priority pick.
-
Yeah nah. Moloney must share the blame for what happened. He's a senior player who spat the dummy, plain and simple. As much as his absence has HURT (that one's for you rpfc ), we have to move on.

I don't want to [censored] on anyone's parade in what is a rare time for Demon supporters to be happy, but spot on WYL. This is a step. An important one no doubt, but merely a step. There is no quick fix to turning it around, and the fact we've been poor for the better part of a decade doesn't change that. It's a bloody hard slog to rebuild a football club, and it would seem Roos and Jackson know what they're in for. Talks of being a powerhouse are premature, to say the absolute least.

Yep. It also helps when you've got runs on the board like Roos does. When he speaks he commands respect. You could feel it at the presser.

I found it pretty interesting that he was so candid in his desire to keep Watts and Sylvia, on the day of him being appointed. Pretty sure he brought it up without being prompted as well, but could be mistaken. This was despite him being alot more reserved when the issue of turning over the list came up, with him wanting to "get into the club, see how they train etc". I think that early vote of confidence will go a long way to keeping both players. For those who want them to stay. He also guaranteed that whoever took over from him would see success. He didn't define "success", but the confidence was refreshing, and exciting.

Aren't there still question marks over his defensive running? I don't watch enough Essendon games because the sight of them makes me ill. I mean of course I'd take him in a heartbeat based on talent alone, but I'd want to know more about what he would bring to a bottom club with issues to do with culture and work ethic.

I'm tripping out here.

Make one LDC. Don't think, don't hope...ROOS!!!!
-
And so the man love commences. Was inevitable, really.
-
So it actually is Roos' head on Neeld's body? I love it. Out with the old, in with the Roos.
-
Gonna take me a while to get used to the latest addition..
-
Haha...people let down by 2 years. I love this club. Roosy you beauty!! Get around him!!!
-
I hope Goddard leaves. That would be the ultimate pisser.
