Exactly. I think Viney is being held to a different standard in this poll because of the expectation surrounding him. Terlich has exceeded expectation no doubt and had a fairly consistent year not withstanding the question marks over him one-on-one, whilst M Jones has been serviceable but is a stop gap player if we're being honest. Viney has proven you can build a team around him. Leads all first year players in the LEAGUE for average clearances and contested possessions per game. Easily Viney for mine.

Even if fit in body and mind, the defensive side of his game will need work. Too many lacklustre performances in that regard. Of course you tend to overlook it when the offensive side is so ridiculously good.

Rodan and Davey are pretty chummy. Might have been a consideration? Who bloody knows anymore....or cares for that matter. Just make this season end. Mags is gawn at the end of the year, clearly. We did not get nearly enough out of him. Pity.

Luke Ball described him at his peak as "Rioli-like" and paid credit to what a nice bloke he was. Bob Murphy said that when you saw him with the ball, you instantly were thinking about damage control, also drawing the Cyril comparison.

I don't care if he's only played 11 games, I'm still voting JV. Has lived up to the hype and provided hope, something that is in short supply.

Minor point maybe, but I don't think his competitiveness is in question. By all reports he is an extremely competitive person, which might explain why the club's performance has weighed so heavily on him. He is competitive, he just doesn't seem willing, or perhaps even able, to do the things to COMPETE. i.e. the other things you mention.

Haha...is this post tongue in cheek? It's more important than the running of the country? Don't ever confuse the humour we take in the club's situation with complacency. Speaking personally, humour is the only thing that has kept me going at times as a supporter.
