  1. Barry I thought you were going to give 3 serious suggestions and then not one of them was to burn them at the stake or a public stoning... shame
  2. Losing his footing is the most frustrating part of watching him atm. But his disposal by foot is generally good... either hitting a target or to advantage. He is one of very few at the club that I actually expect to convert a set shot at the moment. His conversion rate (when within his kicking range 45m) would have to be the best at the club.
  3. Empty feeling with a draw but so glad we didn't lose by a point coz i just couldn't take it ... or the abuse i would cop from filth mates
  4. 3 Moloney 2.5 Jamar 2 Morton 1.5 Davey 1 Bartram 0.5 Trengove just gut feel without looking at stats. Edit. Garland stiff... pretty solid game and nice goal
  5. Lyon kicked 10 vs Dogs in '94 finals & Ox kicked 9 straight against Swans in the last round '94
  6. Hope you have a 2nd farm. It looked good on paper but we were absolute shizen today. At least going by this thread you weren't the only one to fork it over.
  7. Not concerned about Kelly because from his interviews he seems a bit of a jokester who loves giving it to Lingy at every opportunity. As mentioned others at cats have done similar things on camera during their song or even brownlow night. It may be immature but not directed at MFC. Bomber looks like he is either the evil Emperor out of Star Wars or in a government sponsored sleep deprivation program.
  8. Ablett will get about 30 touches no matter who plays on him. We need to force him to rack 'em up in the back half and not let him stream forward to kick goals & deliver lace out for their forwards. I expect Sylvia to come out very aggressively, putting on big tackles and throw his weight around the packs. If he does this early without giving away free kicks then he will have a big game. For some reason he likes playing the stronger (both physical & ability) teams.
  9. Another negative about getting Fraser is that I wouldn't be able to hang as much sh!t on my filth supporting mates. I usually only play this card when they have a crack about Watts or Trapper. They used to defend him and make excuses but now they have absolutely no come back for any Fraser related jibes, and often agree
  10. Andrew Johns was caught with ecstasy at a concert... I think you mean Matthew Johns who was involved with a 'sex scandal' in New Zealand
  11. Give fanta pants a go purely out of sympathy for his shock of red hair. On second thought its not our defence which is deficient atm. Rather a Bail (if fit) come in to inject some pace and aggression into the midfield.
  12. Maybe the answer was the coaching staff were hoping one of Bruce's floaters would eventually break Nicnat's fingers... which would account for why Bruce continually kicked to him.
  13. Anyone get an "evenerupper" on that in-bred Robinson?
  14. One word sums it up... HORRIBLE
  15. nice work Spot on about Bruce and the kick ins... were we trying to give NicNat the mark of the year?
  16. A few weeks ago you were calling for Sylvia's head after his Footy Show appearance and I disagreed at the time. But after 3 poor performances I have run out of patience so Sylvia now deserves the chop. Bennell has had enough cumulative bad performances to be dropped... and sounds like Bate & Bruce won't come up for next week. Would like to see Morton, Wonna, Gysberts and Bail come in to inject some speed and help rotations. IMO Hughes has shown enough to stay... working against the odds in wet weather and shocking delivery in successive weeks
  17. Rivers was well beaten by Kennedy but was unlucky to concede the 1st goal due to a free kick down the ground against Davey. Losing that contest magnified the problems for Garland, as Kennedy would take a grab then wheel around and deliver lace out for Le Cras. Luckily he didn't have his kicking boots on otherwise would have been a blowout. And all the defenders were badly let down by the midfield today. Who was Frawley matched up with... Lynch??? Why is Frawley so rarely played on the most dangerous forward? Surely going into the game the goals were going to come from Le Cras & Kennedy. Frawley is widely considered our best defender (and I agree) so why not start him on the best forwards before they get their confidence up. He does not provide enough rebound out of defense (and his kicking is only mediocre) to justify keeping him on the 3rd best forward across half back. Not blaming Frawley for the loss but I think Wellman/Bailey got it wrong today with the match-ups.
  18. Jesus I hate it when i'm right... the few $$$ do not improve my mood either
  19. We are due some good luck with weather. The rain last Friday probably cost us 5k to 10k bums in seats. With the expectation of a win and fine weather and Watts on show it should be enough to convince many closet supporters to get along to the game. Possibly up to 35k at the G this week
  20. Who was our last opposition that started as a $3.00 underdog... besides Richmond a few weeks ago? Probably have to go back to early 2007. These are the games I generally get nervous about, when the Dees go in as the heavy favourite. I know it was at Etihad but just look at the North game and all the pre-game hype about us. Anyway, WC with an 18.5 point start might be worth a nibble... and will be quite happy to be proven wrong by the MFC
  21. By paying them under the table ... never ever back-fires. Seriously, over the next few years as the club becomes more successful on and off the field we will become more attractive commercially. Hopefully we can secure some lucrative marketing/promotion (Visy style) work for our big names to keep them at the club when the team is at its peak. There have to be some business people out there with a soft spot for the Dees and some very deep pockets.
  22. I have noticed that we run into trouble sometimes by not getting the ball back to the kicker in the square quick enough. When the ball goes over the fence they seem to relax (take a breather) while waiting for the crowd to chuck it back... they need to run straight to the spare ball they keep in the bag behind the goals. If they do this consistently and get a quicker kick away before the opposition has time to set up their zone they will find it much easier to hit a target (especially up the middle of the ground) without being forced wide into the pockets. The defenders could even work in pairs where 1 player runs after the ball/to the bag and the designated kicker stands in the square getting ready for the ball to arrive... might only save a few seconds but would eleviate the pressure that builds up when there are no clear options.
  23. Have to admit that I have been critical of his disposal in the past but his last 2 weeks have been much better. Last night he was one of our best... very cool under pressure and set up alot of play. He still managed to give 1 hospital pass to Trengove with the opposition right on his hammer but even that spillage turned to our favour. Overall it was the kind of quality performance I expect from a player with Bruce's ability and experience and I hope he continues this current run of form.
  24. Frawley should always take the most dangerous forward (whichever forward has the best form OR is likely to kick the most goals) otherwise he will become the Dees version of Dustin Fletcher... always looking a million bucks on the 2nd/3rd best forward but not stopping the oppostion kick a winning score. We shouldn't wait until Hall has kicked 3 early goals before switching Frawley onto him (like Burton round 3) because by then the damage is done and Hall's confidence is up, making it even harder to stop him.
  25. Love how the big Ox commented several times on Brocks mistakes and how poorly he was playing... letting his true colours shine through. Still not sure what i want to see more... Brock getting toweled up by Moloney and our young guns OR Brock playing for Northern Bullants
