  1. Hogan Gawn Tyson Jones Vince/Lumumba If these guys all have good seasons, we will move up the ladder this year.
  2. Really? Gee that's surprising, given the running sessions I've seen him complete.
  3. When you consider that we were able to draft 2 'sliders' with 40 and 53, yes it appears a good decision at this point.
  4. Max Gawn. Will breakout this year.
  5. They are certainly sprints - they are usually timed so you need to keep at a certain rate as you go along. Usually you would do them in blocks of 5, whilst jogging slowly back to the start. So you don't actually stop moving until you've run 1km (50% of which is sprinted). Then you get around 2 minutes to stop and recouperate before doing another block of 5. It's a very tough running session for any player - particularly fast players who have high sprint speeds and lower endurance.
  6. It's a good sign that the young fella has done some additional running on Christmas Day - but I think more the point, is that he did 100 x 100.Not sure if you've ever tried it - but that is one heck of a session for an 18 year old on Christmas Day. Expecting the whole list to do that is just ridiculous. There probably isn't another player in the AFL that did 100 x 100m sprints on Xmas day.
  7. This will be the pick where our recruiting department earn their money. If ANB (and/or McDonald) turns out a player, it will be a huge coup for us.
  8. Dawes is suspended for round 1. It's actually not a bad effort considering it's from the HUN.
  9. Anyone know if any of the strong runners such as N Jones, TMac or Bail were missing? That's quite an effort from Grimes in any case.
  10. If you can't see the big bodied midfielders theme in this trade period and draft you must be blind. Billy Stretch won't be huge but he won't be Cale Morton thin. Oscar McDonald will be a big body when he's his brothers age - bookmark it. Paul Roos has said many times, that his ideal is a big bodied midfield - in the same vein as Fremantle.
  11. Great cause - terrible video.
  12. I'm sure we'll have a slider or 2 available at 40, but with picks 2 & 3 confirmed I would expect that outside speed will be looked upon very favourably here.
  13. Petracca and Brayshaw will certainly have a bigger short term impact than McCartin and Brayshaw. I actually don't mind which combo we take to be honest, although I do think Brayshaw is the type we need to start with.
  14. Gawn will be on the list for a while yet - but your point still stands. More damning, is the number of high drafts picks in that period that aren't at the club anymore. Unprecedented.
  15. I'd be pretty surprised if we move any further than 1 or 2 spots up the ladder, at the most. I hope that the following year will see some movement up the ladder.
  16. I'd be surprised if we didn't throw our top draft picks at a trade next year (GWS should be vulnerable), plus a huge contract at a free agent. That should balance it up a little. At least our youth is looking a little more talented this time around (not assuming anything..).
  17. David King is a good pundit, but I would have liked a little more opinion on what he thinks is required, and how we will go next year. There no way 2015 will define Roos' impact at the club either, 2016/17 will be when we start to see what we've got.
  18. I wonder if we might use pick 53 to upgrade Harmes?
  19. Alex McDonald working on Ben McGlynn coming to Melbourne?
  20. Can we change the thread title to 'DONT stop the Jack Watts trade'?
  21. Electric Clock - Electricity? ...Watts? Black Mouse - Black Sheep? ...Dangermouse?
  22. I have no problem trading Jack Watts.
  23. I'm hoping Blease is included in the Garlett deal, and that we won't need to use #23.
