It all comes down to how each club rates Curtin. If WCE want to trade then let’s presume they rate him as a top 2 or 3 pick this year and as a Perth boy they’d be comfortable getting him now, rather than waiting 12 months for an unknown kid a pick or 2 better. So yeh I agree in my scenario I’d hope the steak knives are in our favour - but I can’t see it being anything significant.

I’d do it. If Curtin made it to us and WCE wanted to trade, I think in reality it would look along the lines of our 2023 pick 6 plus our 2024 second round pick (attached to Syd) for WCE 2024 first pick. Maybe a few steak knives back and forth but that’s about it and I’d take it.

Sounds like we’ve also delisted Milkshake this afternoon, with a view to adding him back onto the rookie list.

In our dreams! In reality North will probably be given an extra pick and GC will trade pick 4 but still take Read as an academy player. So there will be at least 2 additional picks before we are up and I doubt McKercher would last 6 picks anyway.

Croft looks like a project pick to me - based on what I’ve seen I’m very surprised that he’s mooted as a potential top 15 pick and despite our need for another tall forward (particularly one who can ruck), I’d be disappointed if we had an interest in him with a first round pick.

This would be a good result as there has been quite a bit of talk they could get pick 11 as well - which would have set out second pick back even further than it already is!

Petracca and Brayshaw will certainly have a bigger short term impact than McCartin and Brayshaw. I actually don't mind which combo we take to be honest, although I do think Brayshaw is the type we need to start with.

The problem with trying to do another deal with GWS is that they won't be looking at McCartin or Wright - so if Petracca and Brayshaw go at 1 and 2, I don't think they'll have a lot of incentive to trade up as high as pick 3.

If Mitch Clark goes to the Saints in the PSD as has been rumoured.. we can say goodbye to Petracca.

Laverde would be a great fit for us, but I think we'd be more likely to take him with a later pick - so yeh, a similar deal to last year where we get a player and say pick 8 or whatever.

Can't see us poaching Shiel or Treloar without having a very high draft pick to trade.I can't decide on Wrights value vs another mid to be honest. He is a bit of a 2 for 1 type in that he can ruck, and take marks/kick goals in the forward line. There will be more mids in next years draft.

If it fell this way, and we get a compo pick for Frawley (pick 3), I wonder if we will go for Wright or Brayshaw?

If Petracca goes before our first pick, I can definitely see us trading our first pick.

David Swallow would have been great, and a potentially realistic target last year - but he's started like he may breakout this year and will be off the table if he keeps up his form.
