I cant believe Petracca is a draftee. He's bigger than Ollie Wines, surely? -
Melbourne v Essendon - NAB Challenge - 20 March, 2015
Demon 16 replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Honestly, how are Essendon getting away with this. They've been holding the AFL to ransom for 2 years on this - and all after they administered their players with [censored] drugs!!! -
Of course he would start if fully fit. Would probably play on the ball along with Jones and Tyson as our best midfielders. Sadly, I would be very surprised if we see JT back to his potential best.

Elephants is a silly idea. Don't mind the monkeys or the pole dancers though. -

It probably costs small fortune in gas and safety management to do it, but I think it would be worth it. Being the 'Demons', maybe we could have some sort of hellish fire-breathing spectacle for the players to run out through. If it all goes well, it would enhance our claim for more night matches as well - which is good for viewing and revenue. -

Um, if it's a day game then just use streamers or tickertape. -

Fireworks. We need more fireworks at the footy. Some fireworks on the banner poles when the players run out - and some on the goal posts and/or around the boundary when goals are scored. -
I reckon Jones and Roos is enough. If you need a second player, Dunn would be my preference after earning the vice captaincy. If you are keen on a number of players, then Lumumba would be worthy from the new recruits. I don't think it's necessary to have Jimmy and Tulip up there myself. We are ready for the now this year..

2015 MFC Training Camp Maroochydore
Demon 16 replied to Howe did he do that's topic in Melbourne Demons
Presumably there was no pasta in it - veg lasagnas are often layered with eggplant or zucchini rather than pasta. -
I think the point was that there should have been an example - Essendon. Alas, it looks as though there may be minimal repercussions in that case.

Who is shaping as a surprise packet for Melbourne in 2015?
Demon 16 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really? Gee that's surprising, given the running sessions I've seen him complete. -
When you consider that we were able to draft 2 'sliders' with 40 and 53, yes it appears a good decision at this point.

Max Gawn. Will breakout this year. -
They are certainly sprints - they are usually timed so you need to keep at a certain rate as you go along. Usually you would do them in blocks of 5, whilst jogging slowly back to the start. So you don't actually stop moving until you've run 1km (50% of which is sprinted). Then you get around 2 minutes to stop and recouperate before doing another block of 5. It's a very tough running session for any player - particularly fast players who have high sprint speeds and lower endurance.
-
It's a good sign that the young fella has done some additional running on Christmas Day - but I think more the point, is that he did 100 x 100.Not sure if you've ever tried it - but that is one heck of a session for an 18 year old on Christmas Day. Expecting the whole list to do that is just ridiculous. There probably isn't another player in the AFL that did 100 x 100m sprints on Xmas day.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEX NEAL-BULLEN
Demon 16 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
This will be the pick where our recruiting department earn their money. If ANB (and/or McDonald) turns out a player, it will be a huge coup for us. -
Dawes is suspended for round 1. It's actually not a bad effort considering it's from the HUN.

Anyone know if any of the strong runners such as N Jones, TMac or Bail were missing? That's quite an effort from Grimes in any case. -

If you can't see the big bodied midfielders theme in this trade period and draft you must be blind. Billy Stretch won't be huge but he won't be Cale Morton thin. Oscar McDonald will be a big body when he's his brothers age - bookmark it. Paul Roos has said many times, that his ideal is a big bodied midfield - in the same vein as Fremantle. -
