  1. Blease for me. His pace would be a nice weapon to have. I don't think Gawn and Fitz will do too much next year.
  2. Existing thread here: http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23033
  3. I saw Mees on the site somewhere - he is the new captain.
  4. A man after my own heart (at least on this topic).
  5. I seem to recall the same - well, the sentiment at least. Pretty sure I participated in a back and forth about PJ (and other ruck options) in a thread with DD not so long ago. I disagree. Jamar was already showing he was a player last year - just cruelled by injuries.
  6. So, we've so far heard that Wellman spoke well at a function, and of course the defenders mentioned their line Coach in some pressers. I can see that the sky is close to falling On my reading, the point was that it is only Wellman that is leaving, not our defenders.
  7. To those talking of it being a HUGE MASSIVE BLOW, do you actually know much about Wellman as a coach? (I don't.)
  8. One, Cheney is also a MFC-listed player. Two, the MFC-listed player he finished second to is getting the boot. Three, Valenti was the B&F for the entire competition, not just his team...how's his AFL career going? (PJ also says hi).
  9. With the extra teams the season is going to run longer. For this reason the logistics of having a grand final replay are even harder, given ground access etc, and there won't ever be another replay.
  10. Chants are popular in soccer because there's nothing to cheer about for most of the game.
  11. We have Jamar. That's it. Gawn looks exciting but he's barely played any senior footy and is a long way off. Fitzpatrick is a 50s pick that seems promising but is, again, a long way off and no certain thing. PJ was drafted in 2002 and hasn't cracked a permanent gig yet, while the jury is out on Spencer. Even if Spencer makes it, can we carry two lumbering rucks in the one side? I'm not so sure. Give me a dollar for every time a MFC supporter - this goes for supporters of all Clubs - says some kid is a certain thing and I'd be a rich man. Just dredge up threads on Bell, Miller and CJ.
  12. Leaving the Demons because Jones leaves? Wow. Anyway, Jones - like most - is 'trade-able'. I wouldn't be actively looking to off-load him, but if the price is right (or his price is wrong)...
  13. At least one? You've got to be kidding. Two of the three posters before Benno had already given advice on how to get tickets! I suggested a corporate package, and 'Grimes to Watts' suggested ebay: Before you attack others you might want to actually read the posts you're commenting on.
  14. Oh yeah, I have one lying around. ... Sorry, I just liked the idea of a 'spare' I'd be keen on giving to someone I don't know. I think your nephew's best bet is to stump up for one of the corporate packages available.
  15. Haha, great call. They've got great support and it will be a huge week in Melbourne, full of the unfair and unfunny obligatory Collingwood supporter jokes like this: Who knew burglars made appointments these days? ;o
  16. I've banged on about if for a while. but it's worth venting again. The notion of white shorts for away teams needs to go when it comes to teams with an alleged clash. Plenty of times there would be no clash if the shorts/sock choice was made with some thought as to the jumper of each side (ie. we wear dark shorts, a team with white in their jumper wears white shorts).
  17. Even if AFL Silver members were in the ballot there'd be no guarantee of a ticket, so it might have been worth investigating grand final options earlier. It's definitely something Dees fans should be thinking about in a couple of years. As for using someone else's AFL membership, the AFL's mentioned they'll be more vigilant with ID checks etc. It's not like your son needs to attend the function. If your reluctance is because of the cost, you might have to suck it up if you want tickets to the grand final. That said, ticketing arrangements for the grand final suck. PS. I wonder what the requests will be like on here when the Dees make the grand final
  18. Yep. Batting up the order in the ODIs shows this. Indeed!
  19. I imagine Nick Smith, a forward, playing ruck vs Freo in week 2 of finals (after we'd beaten St Kilda* in the first week of the 2006 finals) is the case you're thinking of. (It wasn't his debut though.) *Gehrig getting injured in that game was almost as good as the win itself.
