  1. Haha :| Did Mitchell sign up?
  2. 18,973. If we did indeed get 23,657 last time we played Adelaide then we're in trouble considering this is a Sunday twilight match. At least it's not being televised on FTA - the poor weather would have more of an impact if that was the case. We're very fortunate we defeated Richmond and I hope we can break even.
  3. You might argue that the reviews are generally too positive (I'd agree) but you can only give 'best on ground' to one player.
  4. Anyone else out there who had no idea who Ted Striker is? Fair enough. Sorry to hear that I'm not sure that's the case with all broken bones though, is it?
  5. Just bookmark the forums What makes you say that? I know a couple of people who have had their jaws broken during oral surgery and they haven't reported any aches post-recovery so I'm interested to know why you say that.
  6. As soon as Sylvia kicked that long goal I knew that the Sylvia fans - some of who have jumped off the bandwagon recently - would be loud and proud bandwagon Sylvia supporters once again. He certainly contributed v Richmond, his two goals were very nice, but he also made some bad errors later in the game that were typical Sylvia. Credit where credit's due though, he certainly did enough to be worthy of his spot. I certainly wouldn't claim Sylvia and Bowden as my best two. All the way...until the other week, when you jumped off the bandwagon. Shame you didn't wait another game or two

  8. Did the change occur before or after his shin troubles?
  9. Absolutely.
  10. Have you seen the whole thing? There was a discussion on Footy Classified where Grant Thomas (and perhaps some others) said they held similar views to you until they saw the un-cut version.
  11. Given our financial situation I wouldn't be surprised if we spend less than most in almost every area.
  12. Easily.
  13. He's spent most of his career as a forward...
  14. It'd explain why Weetra played AFL at the start of last year. I attended some pre-season games in '08 and was certain DB had confused Wonna with Weetra.
  15. Don't click links from untrusted sources! The user accounts have already been deleted (as has been said in this thread already).
  16. Personally, I find there is generally more going on socially on a Fri or Saturday so the footy's easier to fit in when it's Sunday. Of course, it's not great for some, but that's the way with every timeslot. From an exposure POV Sunday's obviously not great, so a nice balance of timeslots would be ideal. I'm pretty sure we've had a couple of twilight games in recent times - v Richmond and/or WB at TD last season iirc. I also don't see what's great for fans - apart from the clock what's different? Fans don't seem to share your view since we get worse crowds than normal for twilight matches. Personally, I find it's pretty inconvenient. I imagine it's not good for families with young kids, but for some it may be great. *shrug
  17. I agree.
  18. Plenty of people were happy to write Garland off after a couple of games. Time will tell.
  19. Hussey also had more than two consecutive poor games. Regardless, it seems an odd analogy to make considering that - afaik - Hussey hasn't been dropped. Didn't he just hit 80-odd at better than a run a ball to set up a win in the first ODI?
  20. Typical Sylvia when he contested for a mark and then ran across the boundary, leaving the ball sitting a metre in play for a Collingwood player to take, unopposed.
  21. There's no point promoting a rookie for the sake of it. Until they're ready to come into the senior team all our rookies should remain as rookies.
  22. I'd blame the 15-20 metre 'chips' on the players further afield, not Davey.

  24. A 14-year sample is probably long enough to draw some decent conclusions. The key one is that some grounds get the 'short straw' when it comes to staging the high-profile touring sides, so that could have had an impact. the other problem is that the pitches can change quite a bit, but I still think it was a useful exercise.
  25. I don't see it tarnishing QB, although a very one-sided game may turn some people off the 'return' fixture.
