  1. I'm not being critical; I'm impressed. In fact, I find it worryingly addictive... Firmly on the Scully bandwagon, I just haven't been advertising it. This in no way reflects on my opinion of Trengove, I just think Scully has been no. 1 for so long and a minor injury has put him in the shadows at the very end. Had he have competed in the TAC Cup grand final and at Draft Camp we might not have this discussion.
  2. No doubt he'll have 25 different players rated in the pick 8-20 range or something like that. But its interesting to get an impartial and educated view. Burgatron usually isn't far off in his phantom (even if he does continually make edits to it all the way up until draft)
  3. Jimmy Bartels had commentators getting his name wrong until he won a brownlow
  4. Its absolutely ridiculous that we get to pick BOTH of these 2 young fellas, who are clearly ahead of the pack and certain to be stars. I feel like the club is a contestant on "Beauty & the Geek"...
  5. Wasn't sure which thread to put this in (know I put these in another one, but can't remember which) so thought I may as well just start a new one. 6. You know, just thinking about it... thats an average of over 10 posts a day, for every day you've been a member. I'm not a huge fan of stats, but those numbers can't be denied - HT, you're destined for the Demonland Hall of Fame
  7. A combination of too much time, too much encouragement and too much material to work with...
  8. Yep, no arguments here. If they see Vardy or a remaining KPP to be just as good as any of the players left, I say take the tall. But if not, and Carey is the best left, by all means. A KPF at some stage is an absolute must in this draft though. I'd like to get a ruckman too, but I know little about the rucks available, and history has shown the rookie draft is a good spot for them.
  9. I like the look of Carey, but there are only so many players we can take at 18 My vote goes for a KPF or Vardy. I think we have the luxury of choosing for position at this stage of the draft since all the players likely to be available are said to be rated very much the same level.
  10. Damn, I'm so glad its not just me on this one.
  11. I don't think so, and certainly not in those years specifically. I do agree that his disposal improved this season just gone, but its still not at the standard I'd like from him. I think this is the crux of the matter - Bruce doesn't quite deliver on what a lot of us expect from him. Doesn't mean he's not a good player, but he is judged harshly by some because of it.
  12. I thought it was a clichéd saying in football that actually rings true. Wasn't meant to be a profound statement. But you're probably right. Some great imagery of Mark Robinson trying to spit that saying out between mouthfuls of a gigantic ham sandwich. (Really shoulda just quit while I was ahead...)
  13. You can compare them, but it defies logic and is a waste of everyone's time. Moving on. So do we take it that we wish to retain Bartram in this case?
  14. He doesn't know who he wants - it all depends on who got a write-up the day before
  15. Exactly. And there's the old truism that "you need to spend money to make money"
  16. Mark Thompson almost got sacked at the end of 06. Coaches get sacked for all sorts of reasons. Some purely because they've been there so long that a fresh face is needed to inspire the troops - nothing like getting every player busting a gut to impress the new guy & keep his spot.
  17. Over your head obviously. Ok, tell me, where exactly does Cheney think he's off to if he doesn't stay at Melb? Its fascinating to hear that our football dept is on the edge of their seat waiting for his decision
  18. Burgan rates him from the pick 30-50 range. He's starting to slowly release his ratings of eligible players in the lead-up to his phantom draft. 19. Bad Boy Billy is more of a TOPGUN fan...
  20. Thankyou for so eloquently putting my thoughts into words... Sometimes " " just doesn't suffice.
