Incredibly inept officialdom in the AFL members area
dees189227 replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
did the seats have reserved stickers on the side? They have them in the mcc area. Also an attendant should have been there checking tickets. -
CAM PEDERSEN was told at the end of last season his career was all but over, with Melbourne far from happy with what he had produced in his first year. Called in for his end-of-year review with coaches and members of the recruiting team, Pedersen was told how disappointed the club had been with his output. The tall utility played just 10 games in his first season, after being traded from North Melbourne for Jordan Gysberts and pick No. 61 (Taylor Hine) in the 2012 trade period. "They said if I didn't pick up my game this year, even though I had a three-year deal, I wouldn't be here [in 2015]," Pedersen told AFL.com.au. "They felt they'd been dudded. "They told me they weren't fussed if I was here or not and said my destiny was in my own hands." Id call that a spray. But credit to Pedo. He could have not taken it on board and it could have wrecked his confidence more but he took the words and as people said last week he is a different player and unrecognisable. He now realises his 3 year deal isnt a safety net. Credit to him and lets hope he keeps his form up. Its a shame that some other players didn't take some other advice on board. I reckon Todd was one that maybe said something. He is head of recruiting and wouldnt mince words.

Damo elaborated more on the interview tonight. He said he is moving back to perth and going to play social footy with his brothers and will be back with his family. Then mentioned freo and west coast will have to ask the question if he wants to play again.

The 21-year-old, who was drafted at No.53 in the NAB AFL 2010 Draft, said being drafted was a moment he’ll never forget, but he’s eager to play a key part of Melbourne’s finals prospects in the future. “Getting drafted is still probably the highlight. The feeling when your name gets called out is probably one of the best feelings I’ve had in a long time. It’s just an excitement and a rush that I haven’t felt since,” he told Dee TV. “I’m looking forward to playing finals and hopefully that trumps it pretty quickly. Well it seems he is happy at melbourne so I hope he signs soon.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The good thing is Maxwell wont be there to be the one that comes across and helps out the other defenders. We cant let Harry just run off the backline and use the ball. Have to man him up. -
To summarise a few things he said Said he had a mini melt down after training, felt light headed and didnt feel good. Never felt like that before He mentioned some dark days Felt guilty accepting pay cheques from the club when he wasnt performing for it Did his hammy 3 times over summer in the same spot then did his calf Glad he went to the doctor otherwise he would have wrecked a lot of relationships with teammates, family and partner Relieved he made the decision to quit Missed his teammates and slightly misses the club A long way to go. He is feeling good at the moment Hasnt ruled out a comeback down the track Thanked the footy club for there support Bernie was asked if he noticed anything wrong with Mitch over summer and Bernie said he didnt really notice and Mitch kept a lot of it to himself.

If he goes to Freo or hawthorn then fine because he gets his finals wish but if he goes to GWS I will be filthy. Then to me thats just about money. I cant see him doing that though. It would be nice if he showed some faith like Dunn did today and Boak and others did at Port.

hang on how many of us thought Watts was leaving after he was on the footy show panel last year and said he wanted to wait until he sees who coaches and had bad body language, Dont read anything into the way James speaks, i dont think he is the greatest talker going around and im not sure he is all that bright. I think he is just eager to play finals and I dont blame him especially when he says this. "I've been here [at Melbourne] eight years and haven't played any finals and haven't got close really. It'd be great to play finals. He is a bit like Rivers. Has given great service and I wont be angry if he leaves. slightly annoyed maybe but I can see his reasons. But its hard to predict which team will win the flag each year. What disappointed me about the ch10 story was they focused on Frawley but didnt mention Dunn re-signing.

the weather is actually meant to be good. No rain and 16 degrees. But a good crowd would be nice. At least this year there is a positive build up to it. The club even held an open media day today for all journos. -
yeah Tommy has to re-sign as well. Shocking kick but a great defender and spoiler. If we can get him and chip to tay then our backline will be very stable down the track. I have no doubt Jade has been great for him and just having Roosy there helping him out with things has been enormous. Well done Lynden and its nice to see him backing the club in.
-
carlton tried to trade him to WA last year and no one wanted him. Lets face it the guy wasnt even that good of a player. And for those saying if murphy or judd did the same thing they wouldnt get sacked, well no they wouldnt because they wouldnt be that dumb in the first place.

The official I love Dom Tyson thread

I just love his long kicking and his long range goals. But im loving roosy's comments on the unnamed recruiter who said we made a massive mistake not getting kelly. Roosy said these comments in his presser yesterday. “I haven’t actually got a phone call yet. I’m still looking forward to that phone call,” Roos said. “I’m definitely looking forward to speaking to him and just setting his path on his next vocation.” Its good to see he is defending his decision and our club. -

roos wants at least 80,000 there. I'd say we listen to roosy and give him what he wants in return for what he has done. -
it sounds like this was the final straw. 3 years they have been having issues with him. He is 21 wont get another chance and has wasted his opportunity while others would give anything to have a go. But if he did what he did then that is just wrong to be sending pics to an underage girl. Also him missing appointments and being late to training and obviously not turning up to counselling when the club is trying to help him I can see why he got the flick. The thing is he is about to enter the challenging period of his life with parenthood and from the outside you'd think he isnt mature enough. I wonder how the conversation went when he told his partner he'd been sacked one day before she was due to give birth. Not very well im guessing.

Im glad dawes said that comment really irks me when a journo said to him about how its melbourne's final. He is a different player this season and maybe its because he is fit. But his tackling pressure and marking has been great. Im so glad he is back on monday.
-
Damo was on mmm today and he didnt even realise how bad Clark got with his depression. Im pretty sure he said Clark didnt officially rule out a return but it wont happen anytime soon. Anyway will be interesting to see what he says and I hope he is doing really well.

Yep first we have to put up with the snow jokes and the opening of the season, then we hear Collingwood players say its our grand final and also didn't Collingwood used to tell by our training weather they would win or not. Eddie again will say we give them the game every year and make money for them. Yes Ed we appreciate it. But it doesn't help when a few years ago an ex player who is now at Brisbane went on footy classified and said yeah its our Grand final. I hope this time its our fans that turn up and make the noise. In the past the crowds have been ok but that's because its been bolstered by pies fans. Lets get a massive turn out Monday. I cant wait for it. -
Wr will rue the first four goals we gave up and our bad kicking in the final quarter. A year ago I would had taken a 20 point loss to port but wr should have won that. We get in front and because we arent used to it we dont know what to do. I felt after howe took the hanger and butcheted the kick we lost it from there. But there were positives. Pederson wow what a different player to a year ago. Jetta is bettrr and I never eant to hear anymore about josh kelly. Tyson and salem answered that question today.

I plan to go to Melbourne v port in july at the Adelaide oval. I have been to interstate games in Darwin and Canberra but this time im travelling solo and I wonder how I go about sitting with other Melbourne fans as I don't really want to sit among port people. Im a mfc/mcc member and cant get reciprocal rights to sit in there members. Anyway my question is can I buy a ticket through the club to sit with other fellow supporters or can I buy a ticket from Ticketmaster and chose to sit in the Melbourne section.

I expect frawley and jetta to come in that's all. Roosy doesn't try to change the team to much. For those saying about Jones missing the birth it isn't for another 6 weeks. Hopefully she comes early. But look at the type of guy Jones is. Of course he will be at the birth of his first child and good on him on being there for his wife and giving her his full support. Plus touch wood this never happens but not all births go according to plan. Things can happen to cause distress to the mother. Also its his first. he'd never miss it and people shouldn't expect him to.
-
Im confused, he said he isnt sure if he will take up the third year but then he says three years will be enough
-
do we thank Neeldy for getting Cam even though a year ago we'd never thought we would ever say that. Obviously roos has to get credit for installing the confidence in Cam. His marking has been great and his tackling pressure has been outstanding. Its nice to see him get recognised. By the way how well is Moloney going? Club at the bottom, broke and he cant get a game.

Jones will be on talking footy tonight
